[MOD][RETIRED] EC10 Mesmerise NoClock & NoAM/PM - Samsung Mesmerize

This is the NoClock & No AM/PM mods for EC10 Mesmerize. It will remove the whole clock, or just the AM/PM from your status bar. As before, you only need to flash one of these. If you want to get rid of the AM/PM from your clock, just flash that mod. If you want to get rid of the whole clock, flash the NoClock.
**** This mod is only for TRUE EC10 deodexed ROMs****
****Boot loops may occur if you flash these to something else****
These mods contain part of the framework of the ROM, so after flashing, it will take an extra long time to reboot. This is normal.
Put the zip file on your sdcard. Boot into recovery. Flash the zip. Reboot.
EC10 NoClock
EC10 NoAM/PM
**As a note, ESKBL uses the same framework file so whichever is flashed last will be what you get. I am going to work on a combo of the two for those that want both.**

as always homie, great work

Thank you sir mucho grassy ass lol

I do like how it worked. I don't like the new WiFi/Signal icons. Any way to just get the clock/AMPM removed?
Edit: also the WiFi Full is bigger than the notification bar, great work tho!

Not sure what happened then. I flashed your no clock. It took the clock away, but it also caused a shiat load of issues. USB wouldn't connect unless set to mass storage. It wouldn't let me connect via Ask. Droid Icon went missing while in the USB mount screen. WiFi turned into a odd icon. I'd post a SS but I've already flashed MIUI.
1bar wifi: Vertical bar.
2bar wifi: Horizontal bar.
Full wifi: Big blue box just slightly bigger than the notification bar.
Reception turns into a grey box when full or a Black Underline when not.
Not sure why it did that.

Your sig says you were on frankenclean, is that what you were running when you tried this? It's only for EC10 so that would be why you had issues....

It would have to come from the builder/porter of the ROM. This one will boot loop your phone.

[REQUEST][MOD] Hide 4G notification on 3.70

So, i upgraded to Fresh 3.5 which is based off of the OTA 3.70. and now when i keep 4G on and there is no 4G signal around that notification icon sits on the top left corner of the task bar. it's a 4G icon with an exclamation point on it and when you pull the notification bar down it says "4G antenna is ON, tap to scan for 4G service" can someone please find a way to hide this icon. I like to keep 4G turned on all the time and don't want to keep seeing this every time the 4G connection drops. TIA.
I second this!!
We can't be the only two to find this annoying.

Sprint could get all information from user.. note phone is rooted and flag account
No they can't, I'll called them today, no flagging or anything. And remember rooting is not illegal, and they cannot flag your account for doing it. Their saying this is a feature to save battery life. I disagree. My thought is they couldn't figure out how to get the 3G to 4G handoff to happen properly so this is their solution. BTW, I've had nothing but problems with 4G stalling since I've owned the phone so this is still an issue.
For those of you wanting to lose the constant notification. It's in the framework-res.apk You can use Gimp to make it transparent and then push the framework back to your phone. Or you can pull your framework and make your own flashable zip. Then you can keep modifying anytime you want to change something with 7-zip.
It's actually not in framework-res, and making the image transparent keeps the spacing allocated and continues to display the notification text in the "notifications" section of the drop down window.
So, having said that, consider the attached (flash via recovery) EXTREMELY experimental. It "should" remove all the corresponding 4G notifications. What I don't know, is if in doing so, it breaks the ability to automatically reconnect when leaving and re-entering a 4G area. This isn't as easy to remove as icons to the right of the status bar, or even some on the left. This uses android's built-in notifications framework, which requires ongoing services, etc, to report activity on the top left side, and in trying to break its display, it is certainly possible more than just its display has been "broken".
Again, give it a shot and see if it works without any unintended side affects. But, be warned, as mentioned, it may. Just not sure, as I haven't been able to test it enough to verify it works as intended.
Nandroid before flashing so you can restore more easily if it doesn't work as intended.
It flashed just fine, I haven't left my 4G area yet so well see if it effects reconnection. I let everyone know. Now I just need to change the scanning frequency interval back to what it was before because it seems that the interval is longer now, thus they put a button on the notification bar to instantly activate it. Thank you Sir for your help, and a Happy Christmas and Merry New Year to everyone.
After looking at the wimax setting the values that changed are-
Previous- wimax entry delay(s)600
Current- wimax entry delay(s) 300
and
Handoff Threshold
Previous - 0
Current - 6
I changed my handoff back to 0 and well see what happens, and I'll try 3 and report back.
I'm also going to lower entry delay and see what it does to battery life.
The (Previous) settings are taken from a post from July, so who know what there were a few weeks ago.
I can confirm that the .zip file works perfectly. Gets rid of the notification and reconnection works fine. Still playing with the scan settings in regards to battery life.
Finally, back on the forum. Thanks for making this mod. Downloading now and will give it a try.

Cool, thank for the additional confirmation.
Sorry to be so noobish. I just got my first android phone and just (stupidly) applied this update today and I hate how it doesn't reconnect the 4g automatically and makes me rescan. I really wish I could make the 4g how it was before.
My phone is not rooted or anything its just an HTC evo with a white backing right out of the box and updated. What should I do?
I'd be more than happy to donate to the developer of this method just need a little help here please.

You beat me to the same question. While it is trivial to undo, how did you apply in the first place?
I guess it is feasible to extract the apk from the zip, and manually click to install from your sd card, but somehow I doubt this is what was done...
Either way, for future edification, since you would have to know what apk it is, if you installed it this way, why not just download a stock ROM and pull out the same apk and re-apply?
This is what I have done and attached.

SkyROCKeteer wants thread

Hey guys...I know Playin4Sheezy has been busy doing tons of stuff and he thought of starting a thread about "What would we want in a rom" thread for him to possibly incorporate into his masterpiece. I will add to the OP with good ideas that are possible to implement this life time:
1) Power off menu with screen capture, reboot, recovery etc
2) Adjustable status bar buttons (wifi hotspot, disable lockscreen)
3) Wake on Vol +/-
4) GB or rotary lockscreen
5) Battery % option like CM7 95II <--- Battery % next to bar
reserved for Playin4Sheezy---
What would I want? Thats easy .. nice stable rom with no issues.. lte lights and icons must work and have performance tweaks..
Flash it and make it perform better and not worse.
LOL, that's the point of building roms and testing them out. He finds what works and what doesn't by our feedback. If you want stock....stay stock. Also, BLN notifications are enabled by the kernel from Da_G.
Here this is what i would like if possible!

Lol what is it you consider nice and stable? I haven't had a single issue besides the lte icons which I can't test for accuracy due to lack of lte. The icons will be fixed as I have someone with lte testing for me. But besides that, what issues are you having?

Customizable pull-down toggles. Let me add what I want in there and sort them my way. How many people really need "Airplane Mode" at a quick glance.
I like my pull-down to be skimpy and to the point. Not cluttered with items I may click once a week or so at the most.
GSII LTE Boot animation without any sound (like it is now).
Get rid of the glowy "Samsung" letters during boot. It just looks dorky.
Customizable profiles with shortcuts to turn each on/off.
Capacitive buttons lit 100% of time so phone can be easily used in landscape mode in dark car when docked.
Audio-out in dock mode through 3.5mm jack to OEM Samsung Car Dock.
NFC working (I think it might already be?).
Color icons in settings menu.
ICS theme everywhere else.
Large button keyboard.
I use Go Launcher for my launcher and Widgetlocker for my lock screen, so no need to customize those two items.
Continue to provide update packages instead of full ROM's so we don't have to comletely wipe things out when you provide updates. This is a great idea you have there.
Based on 2.3.6.
If I could request something, it would be for :
1)a Vanilla Android. No TOUCHWIZ, no bloats whether from Rogers or AT&T.
2) If its an add on to stock TW, definitely have a tweak that doesn't force connection to 4G (3.5g) or LTE all the time. Only unless data transfer is being used like browsing in order to help conserve some battery, Battery %, control toggles, advanced power button options (reboot, shutdown, recovery), jkay tweaks, BLN (need supporting kernel), hardware acceleration.

I'd like the following:
Disable boot/shutdown sounds
Remove power off confirmation (why a two step power off?)
Remove the vibration icon on notification bar
Remove Full Charged Notification Icon, Sound and Screen On
CRT screen off animation
Extended power menu (reboot/recovery/download etc)
Lock screen choices (I like rotary lock screen)
Hacked Camera, power button acts as shutter release
CALL RECORDING
No CIQ
And of course all the mandatory stuff like Deodexed, Zipaligned, Rooted Remove AT&T bloatware etc etc....

AWESOME! Can't wait.
Do you think you'll be able to get call recording working? I loved it with my Captivate running Continuum 4.1 but apparently it doesn't work so easily with 2.3 GB roms. ??
There are a number of cool settings we can grab out of tmo roms (rom control, miui battery meter) All with dev permission/credit of course
My problem right now is there exists not one "total package" rom of all roms...and it CAN exist. Every request listed exists somewhere...it is just going to take some work getting it in one package
It is something i have been working on but have not really had time to mess with. I am a total newb at this dev stuff. even when that "perfect" rom is developed...I am going to need a kernel to go with.
Btw...i am in an lte area ...so if you need lte specific testing just let me know

[APP] ICS Blue Digital Clock Widget (deodexed)

This is for everyone who is going for an all blue look on roms such as SkyROCKeteer. I just changed the green date in the stock DigitalClock.apk to a blue one. I made 2 versions, one with a completely transparent background and one using the stock semi-transparent background.
Just replace your DigitalClock.apk in the System/App folder with one of these and reboot.
Would love a green one but transparent!!
for some reason i don't like the circle battery meter ; < i like the the green battery icon...
why so many permissions??
I didn't take the time to set the permissions. You can change them to rw-r-r, or leave them alone. It works fine either way.
im just curious to the mod. this seems the same thing done in i9100 verte's theme. is it a port from there?
This pairs up good with the ICS roms and themes. Thanks!

Question, I woke up this morning and the clock was off. It was 10:29am and the clock said 12:23am. I'm thinking maybe when you edit the clock and repackaged it, something was left out. I think the clock stops going on a certain standby time. Is anyone else getting this problem?

No, this is not a port. I did not check before I made it to see if anyone else had already changed the green letters to blue, but a few people probably have by now.
Nothing was left out. I've been running this clock for over a month now and I've never seen it be off.
Well I woke up this morning and its running fine now. I guess something was up with my phone. Thanks.
dope, i like it.
Love it! Thank you.

[Q] Notification colors?

Hey everyone, so I had my screen replaced and everything works fine except for my notifcation colors. I'm on LiquidSmooth and I've noticed that the only color my phone is showing is blue (when receiving incoming notfications). When charging, it's not showing any color either. Think they might've messed something up during the repairs? Because other than that, they did a really good job. Thanks in advance.
well, "stock' doesnt show colored notifications, they are white. go to the settings for color notifications in your rom and change them.

Weird huh? The rom has some preset colors for when the battery is low, medium charged and fully charged (red - yellow - green in that order) but it's not showing any colors. Not even the default white color. I've tried adding my own custom colors to no avail. When I press 'test', sometimes there's a blue pulse but that's about it.

It's letting me change, I'm just not seeing the results of it. Imma try a clean install some time later and see if that will solve my issue.
If you're thinking it might be a hardware issue try flashing back to stock and giving something like LightFlow a try. That should tell you if it is a ROM or hardware problem.

Make a backup or backup your original one (or simply reflash the ROM if it doesn't work).

Update: Flashing stock didn't help either. Guess I'll just turn it in and see if they can do something about it.
