Hi.
I really need to use PPPOE on my Xoom Wifi.
I just got it so I don't want to root it just yet and void the warranty.
Any ideas how I can get PPPOE on my Xoom without having to root it to use this app:
WIFI PPPOE
Thanks

Ok, im trying to tether internet using my Xperia Neo, but i want it to tether with a custom mac address. I tried using android_wifi_tether (i couldnt post the google code site, but do a fast googling and you should be there), it tethers fine, but it fails spoofing the mac. I rooted my phone using OneClickRoot, and the root seems to be working well i think. What should i do?
Hi everyone I'm new to the rooting world. So here's my issue I used framaroot to root my phone I haven't flashed a new Rom because one don't have a computer and 2 don't know how to. Now I rooted the phone for for deleting the stupid bloatware killing my memory but more so to be able to use the WiFi tethering abilities. So I downloaded that atmysandbox app I found on Google it says it'sworking but it's not metro pcs hotspot feature keeps blocking it how do I bypass it or delete it
I simply want to be able to use my native hotspot to tether to a tablet, for free. I looked and didnt find any method to get this to work without rooting. But did I miss something? Do programs like FoxFi and stuff work anymore? or is my only option to root?
I looked at threads about rooting, but they all seem to be outdated, or started a year or so ago.
I have a Sprint Galaxy S5 running 5.0,can somebody link me to an UPDATED how to root thread for my model?
thanks in advance
(i am not a newb, i have a LG phone and samsung tab S both rooted, CM12 on the tablet, and Xposed and hotspot unlocked on the phone. This S5 is my friends that im trying to either get free tether mainly, or root if needed, to get the tether)
This method still works

Hi! I am sorry to hear of your problem! I assume you have already tried a reboot? Possibly, iptables is involved in the Reverse tethering tool. Maybe a page like this helps: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-list-and-delete-iptables-firewall-rules
Should you have the need for a reverse tethering solution that does not tamper with you phone, you might want to try ReverseTethering NoRoot, an app I have developed. It does not require root permissions, so it cannot mess with your system I have opened a dedicated thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-reversetethering-noroot-t3316716
Is there any working method to enable wifi tether of phone internet access with VPN?
I have tried using PdaNet+ and USB mode works. However I couldn't get to make wifi tether work using FoxFi. I have also tried DF Tethering Fix and Tether Unlocker which needs root access but I can only connect other devices to my phone but without internet access..
Any workaround for rooted or non-rooted phones?
