Hey, i am thinking about getting a new G1..... I was reading about WIFI - Tether , it said it only worked on ROOTED phones.... If i get a new one with the NEW firmware RC 33.. Will i not be able to "root" it ? Do most applications require the g1 to be rooted ?
Thanks!!
Hello guys,
Few days back i have updated my HOX+ with 4.2.2 and sense 5.everything is working fine but my USB TETHERING,Bluetooth tethering and wifi hotspot is not working.i have purchased HOX+ from ebay and i am using it in India.I have read in several thread in XDA that i have to edit telephone.db file.i have tried to find out that file in my phone but i have not got that. Then afterward i came to know that for getting that file in my phone,my phone need to be rooted.then i have installed ROOT CHECKER from play store and it is showing that "this device does not have proper root access".what to do next please explain step by step i am NOOB
I simply want to be able to use my native hotspot to tether to a tablet, for free. I looked and didnt find any method to get this to work without rooting. But did I miss something? Do programs like FoxFi and stuff work anymore? or is my only option to root?
I looked at threads about rooting, but they all seem to be outdated, or started a year or so ago.
I have a Sprint Galaxy S5 running 5.0,can somebody link me to an UPDATED how to root thread for my model?
thanks in advance
(i am not a newb, i have a LG phone and samsung tab S both rooted, CM12 on the tablet, and Xposed and hotspot unlocked on the phone. This S5 is my friends that im trying to either get free tether mainly, or root if needed, to get the tether)
This method still works

You might want to check if the phone you've bought is legit
good afternoon,
I have the same mobile than you, and I am happy to see that you succeed for rooting it with Kingoroot.
May i know how did you do, because I tried again today without success?
I have the same problem. did you find a way to install google aps? on the device?
Rooting SM-A7000
I wasn't able to Root my Galaxy A7 (SM-A7000) model with Android Root apps but i tried it with Kingoroot Pc version the root was suceeded But after rooting my device wasn't stable and restarted automatically every few minutes and After that i confronted with Soft brick and I forced to flash my device again.
HI i am new in this (but very good following steps and instructions )
i have a Kyocera Duraforce e6560, I have read something about rooting and i discovered that rooting is one thing and that installing a custom rom is another thing.
In my case the only thing i want in my phone is to enable the MMI codes functions and to remove the hotspot restriction (AT&T is well known by blocking the hotspot functionality of their phone if used with another network.
My doubs and questions:
Can i do that with rooting the device?
once i modify what i need to modify in order to get those functions working back again.. can i "unroot" the system back?
and if possible to remove some bloatware
can you help me to get that?
I have install first flashed twrp recovery and i flashed android recovery thinking that twrp will be removed.....
but it causes problem my Samsung star pro does not reboot.....
I found this thread while searching for a solution for the same hotspot problem.
The solution I found was the PdaNet+ app on the Google Play store. It works fine for me with an AT&T DuraForce E6560 and my Windows 10 laptops.
