Need assistace, rooting a device and or advice - General Questions and Answers

HI i am new in this (but very good following steps and instructions )
i have a Kyocera Duraforce e6560, I have read something about rooting and i discovered that rooting is one thing and that installing a custom rom is another thing.
In my case the only thing i want in my phone is to enable the MMI codes functions and to remove the hotspot restriction (AT&T is well known by blocking the hotspot functionality of their phone if used with another network.
My doubs and questions:
Can i do that with rooting the device?
once i modify what i need to modify in order to get those functions working back again.. can i "unroot" the system back?
and if possible to remove some bloatware
can you help me to get that?

I have install first flashed twrp recovery and i flashed android recovery thinking that twrp will be removed.....
but it causes problem my Samsung star pro does not reboot.....

I found this thread while searching for a solution for the same hotspot problem.
The solution I found was the PdaNet+ app on the Google Play store. It works fine for me with an AT&T DuraForce E6560 and my Windows 10 laptops.

Samsung i5800 first instructions

Hallo everyone!
I am new to this board and i have a few questions.
I recently bought a Samsung i5800 with android 2.1. Unfortunately i have problems with the pin requesting (i read in forum, that this is a known issue, my provider seems to use a modified firmware, that causes the problems).
So i want to update my mobile because people in forums say, that this is fixed by updating to samsung original 2.1 or 2.2
However I read, that I should make a backup, before I do so.
So please can you give me instructions how I should start(with links)?
And do I need to root my phone? to do upgrading or to install an official firmware?
And how do I unlock my mobile for all sim cards?(In my Country Austria it's absolutely legal to unlock the sim card).
And shall i first root it and then upgrade or upgrade and root it?
And how do i do a backup without rooting?(I want to have this current system as backup, for warranty issues).
If possible, i want to do an upgrade without rooting.
Thanks for the answeres.

I read this, but i dont know where to start ...
shall i root it first?(do I need to?) or shall i upgrade it first?
and there is no instruction for backups...
ok
I began with downloadin odin a.s.o
now i just noticed, that the download mode (vol- + home+ power when you turn the mobile off) is not working...
I bought my mobile 2 weeks ago from telering.
Is there a way to enable this download mode?(maybe as root?)
ok
now i rootet it, however i have the problem, that i cannot back it up
i tried clockwork recovery... with rom manager
I go to recover system, then it reboots and then i come to the recovery menu but there is no option for recovery...
is there any other way to recover a samsung galaxy 3 i5800?

[Q] Canadian Galaxy Core SM-g386W rooting

Hi everyone,
i have been searching for 2 weeks how to root this phone, but no luck yet. I am saying no luck for a proper way to do it , because you can do it with the avant method, or by using the CF method which uses the SM-G386T firmware, and for reading lots of forums, i know it works, but the problem is if i ever want to update later, i would not be able to do so. I already have the firmware for my phone, G386WVLU1ANJ1, running android 4.4.2 KITKAT, and i have extracted the recovery.img from the firmware file. I am searching how to unlock the bootloader so i can apply whatever rooting method i want. Since i am new to this, i need some information. If i ever want to use the CF-Auto-Root method using the SM-G368T model, can i go back to stock phone whenever needed by flashing recovery image from the SM-G386W ?. If not, is there any other method i can use, preferably one that doesn't trip my KNOX flag to 0x01. Until now i have tried 2 methods, Towelroot and Z4root, which didn't work at all. The main reason i want to root is i want to get rid of the bloatware installed by default on my phone and gain control of my phone without any restrictions, and customizing it.
Please need help.
Thank you very much
P.S: can anyone recommend some reading about rooting android phones?
wow , 107 views, not even a single answer !!!!!
Sorry dudes, but you call taht help ?
107 views and not a single answer to one of my multiple questions !!!

Update 2015/06/28: i finally did manage to root it properly with iRoot.
Thanks for nothing !!!
Again, i am sorry, but it p***es me off !!

I also own one of these phones and would like to root the phone to get rid of bloat ware and make the phone run smoother. I would appreciate if you could give a quick run down on how you managed your root. Greatly appreciated.

Rooting the Samsung Galaxy SM-J100VPP

I apologize if this is posted elsewhere in the forums, or if it's incorrectly placed, But I figured it may be useful to some.
after hours of looking and browsing the internet, I finally found a way to root my Samsung Galaxy J1 by Verizon.
You will need the following: Samsung Galaxy SM-J100VPP non rooted
Kingoroot application OR
Kingroot application.
Step 1) Go to your dialer and enter *#*#759#*#* or install an app called Hidden Menus and look for "Rlz Debug UI..."
Step 2) turn OEM Mode ON
Step 3) Use KingoRoot or King Root and click root.
This will work on devices that have received the OTA update from VZW.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If anyone knows of a CWM Recovery or Custom Roms For this device, I would very much appreciate a link. if not, I will have to try to port it myself. Thanks in advance.

Are you using a Bluetooth or any sort of headpiece?
Bunk help
I've tried the king method and odin method and still can't root this J100VPP.
I even tied to brick it nothing. The king method stops at 90 percent. I'm lost, I need a new idea.
I have the exact same phone and I was able to root with kingroot.net. If I remember correctly I had to do it two times before it was successful.
Patience

I had a Samsung Galaxy J100VPP from Verizon, an I move to Guatemala, and a rooted the phone, and I need use the phone in Guatemala with the Guatemalan Companies, the companies are Tigo, Claro and Movistar, what you did to put in work your phone in Venezuela??? Help Please
Old thread but I just got root using Kingroot 4.9.5 to root SM-J100VPP with andriod 5.1.1 confirmed and working.:good:
Working for me but afraid to update it with the chainfire one want exposed on this
It worked for me with Kingroot and Hidden Menus but after optimizing with Kingroot and uninstalling a few bloatware apps, it crashed, restarted (with the open lock icon, "custom" underneath, now on startup) and no longer has root access in Root Checker, it saying "Root access is not properly installed on this device".
I think it should be noted that Kingroot originally told me root access was unavailable but below also said "Root strategy available, just try it", so I did. Now it seems that wasn't permanent. I won't attempt it again unless one of you has a lead that requires me to.
And how do I know if I got the OTA update from VZW?
Anyone else have this problem?
I am a greenhorn with this stuff. This is my first root attempt. Please be specific when directing me somewhere if needed.
I used Kingo root and after a few tries it worked. I like this better because I can use tasker with the build in Superuser (after build prob mod of course and for some reason supersu). I was not able to get tasker to work with King root.

The hidden menus is an app you can download from the play store to enable Rlz Debug UI to OEM mode. I have used Kingroot (which is the closest i get to rooting the phone) and Kingoroot. Just go to their sites and download the APK.

SM-G930U (Unlocked US version) root?

I've got the SM-G930UZKAXAA arriving today and after a ton of searching, I can't figure out if there's a stable root for it. Do I use the AT&T method with the engineering image for that device?
Also is there just one thread that has solutions for all the problems rooting seems to be giving it?
Honestly I don't even need root that badly, I just want to use Titanium Backup to bring over my apps from my Oneplus 3, since Helium won't work on an encrypted device.
Yes, follow AT&T root directions with EngineeringBoot for G930U. The only problem I had was the wifi saving. There's a couple different ways to fix that. I used S7_or_S7Edge_Fixes_Debloater_V15.zip from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s7/how-to/how-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039.

Help with un-rooting LG optimus f6 d505

[edit]Solved[edit]Hello i seem to have a more or less unique problem, or possibly one that has allready been answered so many times i can not seem to find it on google?
so the problem.
I have a optimus f6 (the d505 version) wich i have sort of succesfully rooted about 3 years ago, problem is i seem to remember soft bricking it and then reflashing it with something called lg flash tool? and needing to unlock the bootloader in order to un-brick it. After wich i used Kingo for rooting and everything worked like a charm ever since.
here is where the problem starts, right now i want to sell it, and i have a client to sell it to, problem is the guy needs his banking app to work. And after un-rooting it with the same app, and then doing a factory reset, the banking app still recognises the phone as rooted, and to make matters worse even the OTA update fails because of the same reason. Now i think the problem is with the bootloader being unlocked, i can think of no other reason why the apps think it is still rooted, i can re-root and re-unroot with kingo at any time and every function of the phone and the root acces seems to work. When un-rooted every root detection app i have tried from google play tells me the phone is not rooted, exept the fore-mentioned OTA and banking app.
My plan is to re-flash the allready updated basic rom, wich i got as a kdz file from a site called lg-roms.com( it does appear to have the correct phone version and carrier, i did a imei verification) and then use fastboot to re-lock the bootloader.
My question is since I am sort of a noob with theese sorts of things, will this solve my problem, aka will it remove all traces of root, i would like to know since i risk bricking it anyway i want to know if i can get any sort of results
[edit] So ya i really doubt anyone will have this specific problem, however if you do, i managed to solve it by flashing stock and locking the bootloader with fastboot, problem seems to have been originating from there
