Ok, im trying to tether internet using my Xperia Neo, but i want it to tether with a custom mac address. I tried using android_wifi_tether (i couldnt post the google code site, but do a fast googling and you should be there), it tethers fine, but it fails spoofing the mac. I rooted my phone using OneClickRoot, and the root seems to be working well i think. What should i do?

I previously rooted my EVO and ran Cyanogenmod 7.x successfully.
I bought the ET4G and I'm looking to root it specifically to enable the WiFi hotspot.
I've searched and searched but cannot find out whether or not the hotspot feature is enabled by rooting.
I have no complaints about the stock ROM (compared to Sense, it's great), so if I can just run a root and enable the hotspot, I'd be OK (for now).
Can someone point me in the direction of which root method to use (the latest version I suppose) and if I need a new ROM to use the hotspot or not.
THANKS!!!

I am over here in Japan, and i picked up the Z3 over here cause Ive heard good things about them. Got tired of the crapware they installed and thought id be able to just root and uninstall the crap. So I followed the guide that was on the forum stating to flash to a certain Firmware, then root, then install the recovery.. But no matter what files I use, it will not allow me to connect to the Mobile networks over here. Is there a difference in the Kernels or versions that would make it so that I cannot connect to the networks? I really need some help getting my phone working again...
I simply want to be able to use my native hotspot to tether to a tablet, for free. I looked and didnt find any method to get this to work without rooting. But did I miss something? Do programs like FoxFi and stuff work anymore? or is my only option to root?
I looked at threads about rooting, but they all seem to be outdated, or started a year or so ago.
I have a Sprint Galaxy S5 running 5.0,can somebody link me to an UPDATED how to root thread for my model?
