That sounds like what I have right now.
My phone is rooted and I have it unplugged since 9AM. It is now 3PM and down to 50%. This is what I did:
Bluetooth Headphone + music for about 1hr
Downloading apps + updating + reinstalling + backups + uploading for about 30 min
Texting + a few emails + fruit ninja + angry birds + GBA emulator for about 30 min
I'd save more battery if it wasn't for the data+CPU intensive activities.

Goto the verizon store and talk to the manager. Tell him to push the hybrid prl to your phone. Mine is 13006 & battery is at 80% (off charge 6am) at 3:34pm. Looks like a major fix for me and the wife's thunderbolt.

Try Battery Monitor Widget. I was surprised to see that my phone uses significantly less power while idle on 3G than connected to WiFi.

I spoke. With corporate about that, tier 2. They said prl updates automatically on boot and the is no way to push a specific version. They also said prl is for voice roaming in non VZW covered areas and isn't related to the 4g radio, as only VZW towers support LTE.

What does your usage look like? If I just open up my phone for emails and text (very light usage), I lose about 10% every 4 hours or so. Also I think you can edit your tower preferences by dialing " ##778# " . I'm not sure if it's the same but sounds quite similar.

What are tower preferences exactly, and what would they do to help battery life?

The reps on the phone are full of it! I have been on the new prl and it doesn't change when I reboot or bsttery pull. It has something to do with wether or not you are in an area that use to be alltel. If u goto the store they should know what ur talking about. If not have them call the Hattiesburg, MS store.

Actually yeah that does sound about normal. There are of course alot of variables when it comes to battery life. What you actually use and leave running, how much and how often you use it and of course how strong a signal you might have or not have.
I get better battery life than that however there are a number of things I remove from my phone that I do not use and I shut just about all syncing off. Naturally that will make a difference.
I see so much about battery life on our phones and what confuses me is what do people expect? Really these smartphones are just about like walking around with a laptop in your pocket. How much time of continuous use can one expect to get out of that? I know most laptops you would get maybe a few hours of use on the standard batteries after a few months of use. I guess thinking of it like that are we really doing that bad?
Sure I'd love to see a battery that will last 2 days and I can use my phone constantly but at least at this point and time that simply not going to happen.
I know you are not complaining here but I just wanted to vent a little bit lol

you have to have something running constantly on that phone. might want to pick up a app in the market and check what is running that thing like that. system monitor is one app and there are others as well. either that or you just have a bad battery but not likely

Try watchdog lite. Just don't set it to update constantly, it'll eat your processor if you do.

Okay, I know I'm not from the TB side as I have an Evo, but one thing to keep in mind is that if you leave 3g/4g turned on, it constantly tries to find a superior signal. Use wifi where available. Also, turn 3g and 4g off when you don't need them, and don't leave stuff set to sync on its own. Other things that can be done to improve battery life are lowering your screen brightness and adjusting the screen timeout/sleep interval. The lower each of these are set, the more battery you will save. If your screen is always on, it's constantly drawing battery, obviously. Also, in my experience, the HTC charging kernels have a tendency to be a bit finicky when it comes to charging 90-100%. Sure, your phone may show 100% charged, but if you pull off the charger and it drops 3-8% in the course of 5 minutes, it clearly wasn't 100% charged to begin with.
However, if you meant to say that you were following these guidelines and still having this issue, I would say you very well may have a defective/weak battery.

root your phone and download imoseyons leankernel.
i can get over 24 hours of battery time pretty easily as long as i'm not using it heavily, and that's with an overclocked cpu to 1.4 ghz.

i have been turning APN off via extended controls and my battery life has gone to bearable to good! I am really happy about it b/c the widget works perfectly and turns on and off in virtually seconds, and completely turns off all radios other than the one for calls and texts.
So until I have root and am able to adjust the battery life in that way this is working great.

here's mine on das bamf 1.2 and ziggy's april 6th kernel at 1497/368 on smartass governor w/ 2750 battery...mediaserver was me streaming mecanto over 3g for 4-5 hours, also used pandora over 3g, but only for an hour or so...no wifi used in the last day..radio set to cdma auto so it doesnt look for 4g.
brightness and sync on whatever I want, I keep beautiful widgets at 15 minute update, not sure anything else syncs...mail seems to sync when I switch to the screen with the mail widget or whenever I open the mail or gmail app..

Yea, I just posted on another board that I will not be able to stay with this phone. Im going to have to shell out 600-700 for an off-contract Bionic. My phone was 100% at 7AM this morning.. After sitting in the car all day at work, 10 hours later, it's down to 75%. I figure that's not bad.
Well in the 4 hours since Ive been off work, Ive made ONE 30min phone call and sent 20 texts. The phone is dead. Didnt do any surfing. One call, twenty texts.
This is unacceptable.
EDIT: Yes, I checked the partial wake usage and nothing is running in the background. I have nothing syncing either. There's only like 5 things in the battery info screen.. Phone call, Display, Phone Standby, Cell Idle, Android System, and Android OS. The single 30 minute voice call accounts for 47%, 30 minutes of Display is 21%, and the idle and standby are the rest.

ive called verizon about the hybrid prl they just lol its an auto update they cant just push it to your phone maybe your in a 4g lte area but im not

[Q] Any type of battery fix?

Insert whiny post about how much my battery life sucks.
Now that I've just rooted my Inspire, are there any fixes that are available that will help improve battery life? I am using the RCDMix3D rom, and my phone barely lasts 6 hours. I take all of the suggested actions like turning off bluetooth, gps, wifi, autosync, and background data, but it doesn't seem to help much. I even bought a 1600mAH battery, which lasts no longer than the standard 1230mAH one.
So, looking for anything I can flash, or download, or whatever that will help improve it. Good battery life is something I really need in a phone, and the Inspire's is the one thing that is making me consider switching phones. (which I'd rather not do, I love this phone!)
Thanks!
honestly if you are only getting six hourse with the setup you have, im tempted to say something is wrong with your phone......
unless you are getting 4 or more hours of screen-on time. how much screen on time?
i was getting 15 hours out of the box with 2 hours of screen on. now with leedroid, slightly underclocked, im getting about 24 hours with 3 hours screen time.

OP, if you're talking 6 hours to go from 100% to 0%, you've got something else going on. Big time. Especially of you're turning off all that stuff and *still* only getting 6 hours.
Now, if you had the screen on that entire time, I'd actually say you have great battery life, but I suspect that's not the case.
If it happens with both of your batteries, there has to be something else running on your phone, perhaps as a background service, that's sucking that much juice.
@ OP:
I get like 1 hour call per 18-20% battery on 3G/H. So 6 hours of call time from 100 to 0 is good in my opinion.
If not on calls: I did a stress test 2 days back. I got ~6.5 hours display time for movies from 100 to 5% battery with display at 25%.
So like people pointed out above, unless u r continuously on calls or having display on for atleast 3-4 hours with data transfer on 3g/h, something is wrong.
Here are my normal stats:
1 hour calls, 2 hours display exclusively with data transfer, all these on 3G/H, with about 12 hours standby, I come home with about 35-40% battery left.
I agree with the posters above there is definitely something wrong. Slightly UC & UV I get 6-7h screen time.

A lot of testing with legitimate lab equipment has proven that ProdiCell batteries are not actually 1600mah, rather 1060mah which is actually lower than stock. Sorry if you bought one of their batteries.
I wasn't able to find the blog I was reading last night, but I can link you to the amazon comment thread where I first started my online research. >> Link <<
Yikes, that would suck if it was something wrong with the phone. I bought it off someone and was practically brand new, but I think it is out of warranty now.
It did this both before and after I had rooted my phone, so I'm not sure what background processes there could be that would be causing this? I know that some of the AT&T bloatware was always running in the background before (like Blockbuster), but I have since removed all of that crap.
I planned on doing some stress-testing today just to see. So far it has been unplugged for 56 minutes with 15 minutes of display time on, a 3 minute phone call, and using the internet for 5 minutes. Also sent/received about 20 SMS. Battery is at 94%.
Maybe I will switch back to the stock battery that came with the phone and see if there is any improvement. The one I am using now is meant for an HTC Desire, but I had read that those with an Inspire were able to use it with improvements. Not sure what brand makes it, but I do know it came from eBay That could be it by itself hah.

Have you tried a battery calibration? It's easy to do manually, but there's a convenient app on market called, wait for it... battery calibration, that makes it a one-click process.
I really doubt it's the phone hardware itself. Probably some combo of battery/calibration/rom/kernel/radio.
BTW, the phone just came out in mid-February, so technically it's not out of warranty. It's like a year or year and a half or something.
I'll try that app for sure. Thanks!
When I called HTC in May to order replacement battery/SIM door covers, they said my warranty would run out in the next month. Maybe the CS rep was a moron.
Do a fresh install and calibrate your battery. Use titanium backup to freeze user apps. Add your apps one by one to find out which apps are hogging your battery. Also, try charging it before you go to bed. Take it off the charger, and when you wake, check to see if your phone uses more than 1% battery per hour.

Also make sure to turn off WiFi & mobile data when not using it, that will extend your charge.

I literally just rooted/flashed my ROM yesterday. I charged the phone back up to 100% today and used that calibration app, and so far it seems to have helped. It definitely uses more than 1% an hour. So far it's at 45% after having been unplugged for 5 hours and 37 minutes, with 2 hours and 4 minutes of display time, 10 minutes of phone calls on 3G, sent/received about 100 texts, checked/downloaded about 20 emails, and taken 10 or so pictures.
Of course, WiFi/Background data/auto-sync/bluetooth/GPS are off, and brightness is at about 40%.
I've got a weird one on this particular battery cycle. I used the battery calibration app before I went to sleep last night and unplugged the phone at 100% charge. While I was asleep...the dialer used 16% of my battery according to my battery stats and the total battery was down into the 60%'s...I searched google, and other sources / forums report a reboot fixes it, and the issue likely occured from a "Wake Lock State" occuring at my last previous phone call the previous evening...ugh hell of a bug...I haven't rebooted it yet, and still notice even plugging and unplugging all day dialer still in low teens for batt. %...seems to be an Android thing although thre seemed to be a preponderance of HTC's...but they are popular devices and there was a Samsung tablet in there with the same thing...
I just got a whole day with 3 hours screen time and gmail and htc sense getting updates, more than 100 texts and 40 minutes of calls and wifi on half the time the battery on this phone is awesome. At night i get maybe 2-3% drain in about 7 hours. I suggest you find a ROM with some UV capabilities, the ones with the oc/uv daemon are great as they already have the settings built in.

Wow, that's pretty good. What ROM are you using?
Doing a nandroid backup, and then gonna flash Gingerbeast after work to see if battery improves or not.
That's another weird thing about my phone; one of the places I work my shifts are only 4 hours long. I go in and the battery is at about 95% because I've been streaming music on the way there. I come out, and it's down to 30%, or less. The funny part is I don't even get a cell signal down there, and when I do I send and receive maybe 20 texts during that time. Nothing else. Don't even turn the display on aside from that.
So, for Gingerbeast, is there a different kernel I need to flash? I was reading a little about it, but as I am still new to this whole thing, I'm not entirely sure what that is. Do I just flash it using CWM? I downloaded one from LordMod that is supposed to help.
Thanks again all!

The reason why you are losing so much battery is your phone is trying to connect to a tower in order to gain service. Switch to airplane mode when at work.

There's the culprit!!! When phone does not have proper signal, it increases the radio power so that it may not lose connection. And when connection comes in, and is good enough, it starts to slowly scale down the power to the radio.
Hahaha, that's awesome. I was thinking the exact same thing as the three posts above me when I was working today... kind of an "oh, duh!" moment, then I come back and check the thread and ya'll confirmed it.
Flashing Gingerbeast right now, so hopefully that will show if it's the ROM or my hardware that's causing the battery drain. Gonna try it out for the rest of the day, though I will miss my Sense 3.0

[Q] Real World Battery Life

Fellow MT4GS users,
How is your battery lasting you? I'm coming from a MT4G, even though I eventually modded it, and it I used to get at least a full day and have to charge that night at the worst unless I really heavily used it.
My MT4GS has been lasting me half a day or so before I get into the yellow/red and I'm usually charging before the sun goes down.
My main culprit according to the built in battery indicator is display at 65% (I'm on automatic brightness)
Just over 10 hours today for me before I had to charge.
ps- Anyone know how to remove the annoying low power notifications? I'm getting two pop ups in a row.
Yeah mine generally lasts about 14 hours at moderate usage, but it's only been 2 days, and I remember when I got the MyTouch 4G it died on me while I was still at work and then after a week or so it got much better...
Yeah, I can agree with you there I think my MT4G was a little wonky the first week or so. We'll see how it goes.

Only lasting 6 hours yesterday ....
My battery lasted about 33 hours. After the 1st full charge. So way better than my other phones have done. This wasnt heavy usage though. No videos or music just a few calls, lots of emails and some web browsing.
One problem I am having is low call volume. My videos and music are perfectly loud, just the call volume sucks.

Well make sure, your phones screen brightness is on low. Also make sure wifi, gps, bluetooth are off. Also make sure you kill some of the apps you ran on a task manager. just gotta find ways to keep the battery life up.
Well when I first got the phone, I didnt charge it until it was almost dead. Then fully charged it.
Also I turned off GPS, WiFi ect. I also use task manager to kill background programs that I don't need or want running.
We will see if the battery life goes down after a few weeks. Sometimes they take time to normalize.
Oh what task you ended and what task manger you used?

I appreciate the help but the logic is off. This is the latest ..and i stress smartttphone. It is supsupposed to be used as such. Bluetooth ..4g..music...video calling..maps..etc.. if u use of of these features six hours it will last. If you use them all try maybe 4 hours. Plus those boxes are annoying when the batterly is low. This phone has got to be rooted.

I'm gonna have to agree with that one, that's pretty much no different than saying buy a car but don't drive it so you can save gas lol
I have gotten to around 12 hours or more now. Still moderate overall but heavier browser usage.
I do not kill tasks or turn off wifi, gps or anything. My brightness is auto.
I uninstalled the recent maps update because I saw where G2 users seem to think the recent update is draining their battery so I wondered if it could maybe be causing issues here too.
Anyways my battery life has gotten into the acceptable range and that was all I really did other than have more days to monitor it.

This appears to be the same battery that is in the Sensation 4G according to Google.
For us this is good because Ebay and Amazon are already flooded with replacement batteries.
We need to find a higher capacity mAh battery but with the same size as to not make us have to get a replacement back. This shouldn't be that hard.
My old phone has a smaller battery with a higher mAh capacity so the battery in the myTouch 4G Slide is an utter disappointment. They could have easily produced a 3000 mAh battery for this beast of a phone.
Edit: Found a 1900 mAh battery for only 9.99.

Well make sure, your phones screen brightness is on low. Also make sure wifi, gps, bluetooth are off. Also make sure you kill some of the apps you ran on a task manager. just gotta find ways to keep the battery life up.

Screen is on the least bright setting. I'm an ex blackberry user and dont even have one app. I could care less about apps. I'm charging every 5 hours and thats sometimes from just it sitting around/ not even using the phone. The thing better get it's act together. I'm starting to like the keyboard too but I'm up at 5am and if im charging at noon that's terrible. Especially with minimal use.

I've found the slide version there too for $11.99. I've wonder how long it will last with that battery.

There must be something wrong. Mine lasts about that long playing videos and games, messing with the camera, web browsing etc..

As I posted in my other thread, battery sucks on this phone. I had to keep wifi off all the day to keep it from dying by 6pm. Funny how 4g speed is so bad in nyc that wifi is the only other option to do something meaningful.

Weird I live in small city and 4G is crazy fast. When I get to a big city like Baltimore, Maryland the 4G was slow. My thoughts are there too many people on the 4G network. T-Mobile did promised us double the 4G speed and they need more Towers too.
~
For the first couple days, my battery life was awful. I'd be getting low-bat notifications when I got home from an 8-hour day at work.
But of course that's always the case with new phones that haven't even had the settings tweaked...
- Placed a Wifi toggle widget on the homepage and turn it off every day after leaving home for work in the morning.
- Ensured certain programs and updates were not running in the background automatically:
~ Turned off Autosync on accounts (manual only)
~ Turned off autoupdates for weather
~ No Bluetooth, GPS, Wifi, unless turned on for a specific reason
~ Enabled power efficiency and power saver modes (30%)
~ Disabled Always-on data connection
~ Disabled auto-updates in various apps (Friendcaster, IM+ Pro, etc.)
- Turned the screen off when not in use
Today I'm at 40% after 14 hours of mixed use. I'd say that's DAMN good.
By the way, for those seeing the whole "Autosync off" thing and thinking that you can't do it, just do it. I don't get my work email or personal email on my phone unless I tell it to and it's utterly awesome. Less stress. Less looking at my phone constantly. It feels free and just plain great. And I used to be superconnected 24/7 syncing every 5 minutes (if push wasn't available).

Skyrocket Battery Life? HORRIBLE

So I've had this phone for a week now. Its a nice upgrade from my infuse 4g. But the battery life is killing me. I've tried every Tom.available specifically for the skyrocket and even the one kernel in the dev section. My brightness is 15% and I use juice defender set to every 30 min. I listen to Pandora for an hour and it drops 20%. Yesterday it was dead in 6 hours. Its to the point where I'm seriously considering going back to my infuse. Has anyone else had issues?

Currently have juice defender, 0.2 kernel (didnt update and probably wont for now), and a few apps frozen by Titanium Backup. If I hardly touch the phone, it would last 41 hours. With medium usage, (Wifi, web browse, using poweramp for some time, calls, emails, etc) It would easily last my entire day.
What apps did you freeze?

I have JuiceDefender Ultimate set to balanced, I have only the clock widget running, I have GPS running continuously, (I use Wifi occassionally), I have screen set to about 50% and with very normal usage, the battery is at about 20-25%. I have a good number of email accounts and they are polled constantly, notifications are normal (phone settings), I use the Market app and the browser a number of times a day and I hear the occasional podcast. By the way, listening a podcast for about 1 hour (I use BeyondPod and earphones) results in minimal battery usage (about 2% for an hour or so).
So, I have to say that I am quite happy with battery life.
I know what you mean.
I had a stock skyrocket running in a weak LTE market in New Orleans and it would last like 8 hrs then I rooted and frooze all the bloat ware and de-installed a lot of app that were always using the web. I manually set my screen brightness. And changed the launcher to go launcher. Getting 18-20 hrs lots of moderate usage lte and all.
Yea something is wrong. I don't even use juice defender yet my phone last all day wit like 20% when I get home at 9. I use it to talk at least 3-4 and moderate usage for internet and am in wifi a lot. Youtube umm often..Defective maybe??

How do you turn off LTE?
look in settings, about phone, battery and see what is using all your battery. Battery life is very good on the stock ROM, rooted or not. You might also want to install Traffic Monitor and set it up for your billing cycle properly. Then watch for a few days to see what apps are using data. I do not recommend turning off LTE.
BTW there is already a very good Freeze list of Apps...

I was also having very low battery times on my SR to the point it was draining about 5% every half hour. I checked everything and everything was set properly. Yesterday was ready to pack it up to exchange it and thought I try restoring the phone. After restoring it, I now get excellent battery life. I'm getting about 1% battery drop every hour. Today tested throughout the day and listened to some music, some web browsing, a few FB posting, a call for 20 minutes and have 95% battery life left.

I've had pretty bad battery life here in the DC area (LTE is available here). It'll last about 6-7 hours with very mild use. Maybe I should restore it?
What did you do @ElCamino to reset it? Maybe I'll try that too (though I'll hate having to set it back up again).
Also, I turned juice defender back on today, and I've noticed that it seems to be keeping the device "Awake" even when the screen is off. I have it on "balanced." Can anyone give me a little advice on setting it up correctly. I can't seem to get it to let me open more granular settings.
So I am starting to wonder if there are some defective units being shipped. My wife and I both have a Skyrocket. Mine is great, been using it for 13.5 hours today on medium usage. I currently have 63% battery life left. I am completely stock, no juice defender or any other like programs. I even had No-LED installed and used my flashlight app for about 5 solid minutes.
My wife on the other hand has the exact same setup as I do. She complains she barely gets through half a day with medium usage. I charged up her phone earlier today. 7 hours ago I took it off the charger. She has used it with very light usage in that time and it is down to 60% already. When I say light usage I mean sitting on the table for at least 6.5 of those hours. Often she charges it up while watching TV at night. Takes it off the charger when she goes to bed and by morning the batter is at least half drained.

@jslanger I went to settings>privacy> and choose Factory Reset. Yes i know that you have to reinstall and setup the phone, but I am glad I did. Battery life has been great. I'm not in a LTE area but like mentioned battery was draining quick before.
Also I wouldn't recommend you use a back to restore, just in case that something with OS setup from Samsung causing this.

after moving the apps back to the phones internal, the drain seemed to stop, i also wiped the sd card just to be safe as i usually stream pandora anyways , but just another option to look out for

So I've been closely following my battery life because it kind of sucks.

Got home, turned on wifi, and the battery drain completely leveled out. I also noticed that while on cellular, the "Awake" bar is solid. As soon as I'm on wifi, it was able to not be continuously awake.
Not sure if anyone can comment on the reasons that this would be, but usually its the OPPOSITE. I really dunno why this would be.
Any help is appreciated!

[Q] Battery life. SKYICS rc7.3 ~ 9 HRS 43 MIN max charge.

I've had my skyrocket for about a month now, and I've had horrible horrible battery life compared to all of you guys on here. I've tried reflashing, did the whole .3e recovery/ wipe/ fresh install tutorial that Seanz posted. (Amazing rom by the way.)
Nothing seems to work. I've calibrated my battery at least 4 different times. Oh, and for Seanz, You say your rom is 2.3.5, but in my settings it says 2.3.6. My brightness is all the way down, My data, bluetooth, gps, etc are ALL OFF! Only thing I keep on is wifi, ALWAYS. I've tried leaving my phone off the charger all night and locked to see if the drain was the same, and it is, If not just a tad less drain. I'm sorry if I didn't clarify this good enough, If someone could help me out I'd be glad to explain myself better!
Does your phone maintain a strong to moderate signal (both data and talk)? This includes the strength of your WiFi connection. I've noticed one of the biggest (if not the biggest) drain on this phone and most others comes when the phone is strugling for a decent connection. If you can, try this: put your phone in "Airplane" mode for 1 charging cycle. This means your phone won't even try to get a wireless connection of any type. To be safe, make sure the "WiFi" is off as well. See how long the battery lasts compared to it not being in "Airplane" mode. If it still sucks, you might need to see which app(s) are draining your phone. If it is noticably different, a weak signal might be the problem. Good luck.

He changed it only in text for certain apps that require Android 2.3.6, even though they'd work completely fine on 2.3.5. Somewhat an easy workaround. Also took some of the features from 2.3.6 in. It's still built from 2.3.5 though.

Thiiiis is probably your big issue. If you have any apps running in the background that use data, they can keep the wifi awake, which, in turn, never lets your phone sleep. If you go to Settings>Wireless and network>Wi-fi Settings>Menu Button>Wi-Fi Sleep Policy, and set it to "When screen is off," you'll be AMAZED at how much life it can save. I've noticed drastic differences when that setting is applied. As far as without it losing around 10-15% overnight to a mere 1%.
Thanks for your replies! I'll try you guys' ideas out now. I seem to lose about 1-3 percent every 10 minutes. I'll put it in airplane mode and try it for an hour.
Thank you Fortune! was wondering how to do this, You could have just solved my problem. I'll keep you guys informed! I'm amazed at this communities helpfulness. Thank you!
No prob!
Though, next time, if you have a question, should post it in the Q&A section of this forum. People tend to get a bit pissy about seeing Q's posted in other places, haha. Just giving a heads up!
Hope those fixes fix your battery life! That wifi sleep on has been key for my 30+ hr battery lives on SkyICS.
Seemed to not help :| Since I've done this, It's gone from 22% to 17% in about 15-20 minutes. No apps running, etc.
Try downloading CPU Spy from the market place and after awhile of letting it rest (about an hour or so), open it, refresh and check to see the CPU uses the "Deep Sleep" frequency at all and to see which frequencies it spends most of its time in.
Also wouldn't hurt to check Settings>About Phone>Battery Use to see what's using most of your battery life. Display, Android System, and Android OS typically hold the top 3 spots, so if anything is up there (or at a close 4th), that app could be what's bogging it down.
I downloaded CPU Spy and it seemed to already have data for it and it says 4% in deep sleep, 65% in 38 mhz, 5% in 810 MHz, and 1% in 1026 mhz, 17% in 1728 MHz

Alright, well so far so good. Shows it's at least getting some deep sleep and able to idle in low frequencies. Can't really get TOO well of a reading until it's done some time with it idling though.
Do not set wifi policy to screen off, keep it at always. this will keep your data using wifi when connected which is way less of a drain than the 4g radio. Basically with the screen off policy your phone will still use data, it will just come from cellular instead of wifi when screen is off.
Also get this

It will tell you what is running constantly and draining your battery.

the real issue is when i actually stop being on wifi. when my phone uses data connection, mostly LTE because its everywhere around me, the battery life becomes miserable. I left the house for about 1 hour today, you can clearly see it on the graph. I should try to cut all connectivity and just allow the phone to sync every now and then, im sure ill be able to add another half a day at least to my already 1.5 days with wifi on all the time

[Q] Why does my battery drain so quickly?

I have been having really terrible battery on my AT&T HTC One X. I have had it for over a month now and it has not lasted nearly as long as some other users who posted their battery stats.
I have tried several things to try to improve my battery, including turning off auto-sync and turning off the mobile network for almost all day long. I have tried stock, CleanROM 3.1 DE, and Sick Sense HOXL (in which I used the CPU editor to set it to battery saver mode). I have been able to stretch the battery life out to last about an hour extra with the CPU editor, but still nowhere near where I have seen others at.
My battery lasts about 14-15 hours maximum and about 2 hours of screen usage at most, but that is rare. Some days my battery lasts less than 10 hours and not even an hour of screen time. On these days the battery will drop 3%-5% at a time, sometimes even 10% at a time.
I really don't want to go to AT&T and exchange the phone if I don't have to, but I do have a warranty on it. I get a high percentage of screen use and am not sure if that is normal. Could it possibly be that my screen is not completely turning off?
I am posting pics and a logcat file to help determine the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i swear this thread comes up every day
I have looked through the forum to see if there is anything related, but most seem to say their battery gets hot. I don't have that problem. Maybe it is just AT&T's LTE that drains the battery too quickly? I want to be sure there is nothing wrong with the phone though because some days it drops way too quickly. If I turn off the phone and turn it back on, I lost a tremendous amount of battery. It seems weird to me.

Chrome was murdering my battery before the update, now it still kills it. I did a full run with it install. I never opened it and it used 10% of my battery. Doesn't seem like that's your problem though. But just monitor for any rogue apps.
I've been using Bad ass Battery stats to keep track of stuff. Its been a bit helpful but like you, I get about 15 -20 hours before I have to consider plugging it in. Some weather Widgets really kick the crap out of the battery so keep that in mind.
Idk how people pull off these 24hrs+ times but I'm a bit jealous.

I used this method for a while as well, but yes, the network drops are annoying. The battery on the One X is very inconsistent. You may want to try swapping your unit to see if you can do better.
Another thing, there are issues with LTE when you drop/regain signal, it starts draining like crazy sometimes.
I'm still trying to determine if I've got a defective unit or not. My battery drains fast, but maybe I'm to blame?
From 100% charge, I'm down to 45% after 4.5 hours, 2 hours and 20 minutes of screen time.
54% screen
27% calls
7% chrome
6% maps (why the hell is this always running anyway?)
Any thoughts?

There really are tons of threads talking about this, with battery temperature comments only being a fraction of those. search for the Battery Stats XL Edition thread. Not only does it have a ton of reports on good battery life, but TONS of info on how people achieve that and what they have found ot be helpful. There are numerous other threads you can find in a search. I have only seen one scenario where my battery drains remarkably quickly, and that's an issue with my corporate exchange email and is pretty sporadic (1 time every couple weeks, maybe slightly more).
Looks like you have one image in the OP that shows an extensive amount of WiFi-on time. that can really drain. screen brightness is another thing. I stay at 20% max, less if i can handle it. The app Brightness Toggle Widget is AWESOME for me...simple and makes it easy to keep phone at 20% (my normal level) but increase as ambient lighting dictates (like being outside). here are some more basic suggestions that i use to maintain easily a full day+ of battery. (running stock sense).
-disabled crapware (most att services, city id, google stuff I dont use, etc.)
-20% brightness most of the time
-wi-fi, GPS, BT off unless needed (LTE burns anyway!)
-syncing 1 gmail, 1 exchange account
-only running a couple of live widgets
-disabled live weather in pretty much every place possible as this can fry battery
-swipe away unused apps relatively frequently
these are mega-basic ideas but i've had no consistent battery problems and get great life. also, check your full charge voltage level using *#*#4636#*#* and confirm you are starting around 4187mV and have a healthy battery. it's also remarkably possible that you just got a phone with a poor battery/battery function. another thought is that i see you pulling some pretty low cell signal (only 1 bar LTE in one of those shots, 3 in a few others). That's not great and could kill more battery that you can easily tell. I'm in LTE and rarely see as little as 3 bars of service. if you are on the fringe of good signal that can really do you in. checked log file and nothing jumps out, but i'm not the most reliable source for interpreting that data. hope this helps in some way.

I have most bloatware disabled, at least everything that I was capable of disabling. My brightness is set to auto, I can try with it lower and see how that works (still not sure why my screen percentage shows to be so high, I have seen others with the phone and it stays much much lower like 20-30% and over 3 hours of use). I have auto-sync off and no live widgets running, I only use the sense clock/weather widget, but weather doesn't update unless I manually open it since auto-sync is off. I am also constantly swiping away unused apps and the only one that is ever really open is messaging because I use it more than anything else.
I really don't want to go swap my phone out unless there really is a problem with it, which is why I posted here. I need to find out of it is something hardware related, such as a defective battery or screen, rather than software related and capable of fixing.

Same here. Like, exactly.

Try going into wifi/advanced and disable "Best Wi-Fi performance"
Enabled kills my batter. Disabled gets me through a day and half easily
