i'm sorry, i wasn't flaming you. some guys on here get pretty rough about the search feature built into site.
from the looks of that thread it may be possible to do it by bluetooth maybe... if i had a psp go i would also be interested in figuring this out
well im getting a go tomorrow so ill test it out and let ya know if it doesnt snow a foot here like they say it is and i get stuck in my house that would be lame...
From my experiences I couldn't get mine to connect. They recognized each other but I could never get the data flowing. I think pda net might work if you install 2.1
I think you could manually set up the connection by choosing ad-hoc in the network settings.
At least in 3.01... lol I havent had a PSP in ages.
well i didnt end up getting it today snowing like crazy and stuck at my house but i already got pda net ive also seen this app called tetherblu im gunna try that out to when im able to get out of the house of course...
I don't see why it wouldn;t work via regular wifi but I've honestly never tried. I may ave to go grab my psp 2000 and check it out now.
ad hoc wifi isnt supported (or something like that) by the psp. same thing goes for the ds to my knowledge. i think the best bet is to get it working through bluetooth. I think wireless tether has an option to go through bluetooth as well that you can try. like i said i could never get them to connect to have data working but i could get them to recognize and almost pair. One thing id suggest though is taking a peek through the psn store at what games are downloadable cause I ended up being dissapointed by it since games like crisis core isnt up on there yet. but thats just my opinion.
ive checked out the psn store people r jus really close now to unlocking its full capabiltys if ya know what i mean so thts my main reason and the fact internal mem. is just so much more convieant
where are you getting your news on CFW coming out for pspgo?
theres actually one out put the assholes refuse to release it to the public
because somehow we've angered them or sumthing
with previous releases im not really sure
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lVCV1LGHiA (vid of it)
but ive heard there is quite a few other people working on the project and somebody (datel) i think talked about how we could cfw on the go without even hackin it but i havent heard any new news on that
Ivw tried using tether to go online on my palm pre and it never recognizes it is there a way to do it.
supposedly the psp go not the 1x 2x 3x has bluetooth and can make a connection thru that but alas i am stuck snowed in at my house and cant go get me a go but once i am actually able to get out of my house im getting one so ill update soon as that happens
Just use Wifi tether and select Bluetooth PAN instead of WiFi. Should work.
i was wondering if the current bluetooth issues the hero has would affect this in anyway i just got the go downloading a game currently from pc will try after thats finished
I can confirm that wifi tether does not work with the psp go. It does not support ad hoc wireless networking. I haven't tried bluetooth tether, but I'll give it a go.
it doesnt work itll pair and connect to your device but we need an app that enables bluetooth dun tethering not pan theres some kind of difference and the go only supports dun
I would like to find a tablet that does not have wireless capabilities built in. This would include 3G (or any cell service), WIFI, Bluetooth, or even Infra-Red!
I work in an area where devices with ANY wireless capability built in are not allowed. It is not enough to simply turn them off.
So, I am looking for a tablet that does not have these wireless capabilities built in.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
I am also interested in the answer to this.
I don't think there is such a device. And if there is, it's probably a very old tablet that was made before any of these technologies were created for tablets.
The market for wireless-less tablets is so small that it's very unlikely that anyone will make them. Removing WiFi and bluetooth for a handful of people is just too expensive.
close it maybe the best way.
I'm think...
Out of interest, how would they know?
Most tablets have an Airplane Mode which will disable all wireless functionality.
Or you could root it and remove the drivers..
not worth losing the job on not being up front... it would lead to questions of a lack of integrity...
Have a dev build a ROM for you . Im sure someone would be happy to help if you were to donate for their help and time.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find anything main-stream that doesn't include all of those.
What if approached the power-that-be and present them with the idea of a disabled tablet where all of the drivers are removed? If they agree that is a solution you can then see about getting one of the Devs to build you the ROM as jtipton79 mentioned above.
Anyone find one can you PLEASE CONTACT ME ???
I have develop EMF and can't STAND WIFI, BLUETOOTH or ANYTHING WIRELESS ((((
YES, it SUCKS to me be (((, I know, but I just can't stand it.
So, if ANYONE on here READ this and find out, please please please let me know.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!

Buy a 2nd generation nexus 7. Open it and remove the internal connectivity chip. Buy an external wifi adapter and use it at home.

It doesn't natively work on the Infinity, but I'm stubborn. If anyone can give me some direction as to how best to tackle this, it would be helpful. Maybe someone else had already started on something similar, or if not, at least a starting point.
Mind you, I'm trying to tether FROM my Sprint phone TO my tablet.

Have you tried connecting your Sprint phone via bluetooth? I noticed that when I paired mine, it showed up as a possible tether point but I don't have data on my plan so couldn't test it.
I also think this thread needs to be moved to the Q&A forum.
I doubt you'll get it working through USB. I dont think the Infinity has drivers for that.
There's tons of solutions to get it going over wifi, and if you want something a little more power efficient try a combination of PDANet for Tablets on the Infinity and FoxFi on your phone to tether over bluetooth.
Sigh... the entire point to this thread being in the Development forum is to develop the drivers needed to make it work.

Unfortunately, unless you have already developed such app, this post does not belong in the development forums, which are for apps/ROMs that have already been developed, not for posts about apps/ROMs that you would like to have developed.

Already posted in Q&A. Pretty much the sames answers you received there. Dude, just wifi/BT tether... No one is gonna hack the wireless network on your phone to get free 4G internet.
Obviously I need to go elsewhere, then. I thought this would be good place to go for aid with app development, and instead all I get is 'you're dumb, do it this way' and 'Development is for apps already developed, not for those in development' as seems to be the case. Thanks anyway, I suppose.
Not trying to give you a hard time and certainly didn't mean to insinuate you're dumb. You're just asking for something that doesn't really NEED to be done and really can't be done (at the moment). There are already lots of good solutions for what you're ultimately looking to do, tether your phone to your tablet to access the net. Being stubborn about doing it via USB just doesn't make sense (unless you're not really being honest about wanting simple internet access and you need USB tether for other reasons). Who would want wires when you can do it wirelessly? Wires suck... lol.
Hopefully you'll stick around and enjoy the community. Lots of smart nice people here ready to lend a hand.
Grave digging
I've found a need for this or at least a work around. I work offshore and internet is restricted to 1 device per person. My tablet cannot tether back to my PC but my mobile can. I can usb tether my phone to my PC while on wifi. However you cannot bluetooth tether while on wifi so my tablet becomes useless. Please if you're thinking I should just bluetooth or wifi tether using my data I will ask you to log off life and KYS because as I said earlier I work offshore there is no data. Is there a way to bluetooth tether while on wifi??

It does have the drivers for it, but it requires a change in the framework to allow it to use the USB device when you plug it in. I have this enabled in cm.

Okay, I am sure this has been talked to death by some people here....but....I have been trying to get WIFI Tether to work between my HTC One S (rooted TMO) and Wifi Galaxy Note 10.1, no such luck until tonight. Now it WORKS!
I have spent days searching threads and everyone had the same advice, go with Barnancle or Foxfi....I downloaded both...Barnancle never would run right and I could never see it on my Tablet. Foxfi...well, after I read that I had to download stuff to the tablet, I gave up on using it. So, back to square one....Wifi Tether has worked for the IPOD and I decided to give it another try....
I went the route of downloading Google Chrome to my HTC
I downloaded User Agent Switcher Chrome addon and changed User to XOOM
I then started Wifi Tether made sure my setting was Generic ICS(JB)
I also checked on Routing Fix
Then restarted Wifi Tether
The tablet recognized it and connected!!!!!!!!!
I was able to access the internet!
Now, here is my question.....What am I missing?....This seemed to easy and I fear I am missing something, am I supposed to run Chrome on the Tablet? User Agent Switcher on the Tablet, too?....Keep Google Chrome open on HTC while WiFi Tether is connected?...These are the details I never found answers to....
Otherwise, do I just turn on Wifi Tether and connect my Tablet as I would to any Wifi?....and this should be the usual process... I spent so long looking for an answer I feel that this is too easy of a solution, not that I want it to be more complicated .
I don't use tethering too much, but it comes in handy when trying to keep the kids quiet in non child friendly places.
Any advice would be great. Thanks:fingers-crossed:
I believe tmous gives a courtesy 200MB now before they redirect you to buy a tether plan. And their new price tiers include 500MB with the option to buy more. Wouldn't be surprised if they're allowing it to get people used to it so if/when they lock it down more people will buy it.

So I am running a HTC phone and have made some mistakes. I have been trying to change my NAT type on x bone in order to play Rainbow six online with open NAT.
I tried tether to laptop then to box using a cross over cable and forwarding ports over Internet connection sharing. I also tried installing multiple port forwarder applications onto my phone and tethering directly to the XB. One app was meant for a rooted phone (port forward ultimate), which mine isn't and it would let me stop the process before uninstalling.
Unfortunately for me it didn't work and now the tethering speed is INSANELY slow. It tells me there is an MTU error (1340) and the games which used to work fine are now completely unplayable. I wish I had never done all of it just to play one game as the others worked fine.
I am really upset, because the bit of internet I get to play video game is barely keeping my alive at the moment and now its gone.
If you have any advice you would be helping a very ill man get a little bit of joy.
Thanks
Does anyone know anywhere in the UK where I can speak to a professional about my issue. I never get responses on this forum. Any other forums where professionals dwell and give advice/help?
Nobody has the knowledge to help at all?
Can't bring myself to believe that no one has any knowledge of what to do in this situation.
I will pay for someone to help me if that's what it takes to get someone to respond here.
So...If your Phone isn't rooted, you can try (if you have one) to recover all the information. If the Phone has a Guarantee, go to the shop where you buyed it. Since it isn't rooted the Guarantee is still on it. If all of that isn't an Option, the easiest way is to root the Phone (totally worth it anyway) and try an equal App. Not the same just onenwith the same function. Write back if none of these helps, and give some more Information about your mobile (S/N number Android Version...)

Its nothing to do with being rooted or not, my ISP is throttling my tethering somehow and I don't know how or why they are doing it. It worked fine for months, but I tried opening my NAT. It think they are doing something with my IP, subnet mask or MTU, but I don't know how to get around it. Other than rooting and applying tether dun 0, which I would prefer not to do, I am at a loss
Correction, I do know why they are doing it, it's because I tried opening my NAT, which is not allowed. The latency in games has quadrupled. 4g was perfect before, now its barely playable. I want to know why this is happening. Can mobile providers throttle tethering? It still works just very badly.
So, you live in the UK. So you think it's a problem with the provider. Wich provider is it?
It's either my mobile provider or the only other thing I can think of is that I dropped my phone a few weeks back.
Could dropping your phone cause the wifihotspot to work incorrectly? Surely if it was broken it would just work or not work.
I get very decent speeds on my phone but when so tether my speeds are awful, which never used to happen.
I am trying to rule out various possiblities and although I am alright at tech, I don't know much about mobiles and though there were a few knowledgeable people on this forum.
.
I am going to see a professional. I didn't realise it was all amateurs here, my mistake.
