[Q] not one decent musicplayer! - Android Apps and Games

hi all,
as an older user, i have ripped all my vinyl and my cd's to mp3 on a dedicated
hard disk. Every album ripped to a folder with albumart.
I have a dell streak 5 inche and a archos 101 10 inche mobile and tablet.
I have no intention to synchronise all my albums to my streak and or archos. It's just stupid! I just want to see the coverart like i see it in silverjuke and then just stream the music from my harddrive to my phone or tablet.
The new musicplayer from honeycomb was close for the coverart but i still cannot stream the files to my phone or tablet.
- excemple of silverjuke coverart

Anyone an idea or suggestion..an musicplayer that just keeps the coverart and the links to the files on the tablet or mobile and streams the musicfiles over the network.

You could try AudioGalaxy.

cruzin_cruzing gives you the very best advice for streaming your music and you dismiss him because it doesn't look like silverjuke?
Seriously, that's a douche move bud. Either take good advice, or search for something yourself. And just so you know, you won't find any app better than AudioGalaxy for streaming your music right now.

Audiogalaxy is amazing I'm able to play on my phone my entire 40+ gb music collection on my phone. It streams from your computer, you can even queue the music you want to play next. Its really ingenious, I like it!

If you don't want to register on a site then "Subsonic" does pretty much the same as Audio Galaxy, but without the registration. You will need to open up your firewall to allow the connection in to the pc though.
I'm using it now and really impressed with it.

Yeah, and then at the end of the 30 day free trial, you'll have to "donate" to keep using it on your android phone...

yeah cause it's still not the musicapp i'm looking for.
If i want to stream and play something WITHIN my own network, i don't want to
1. install a server or something like that on the hostpc
2. register on a website to do something on my own network
es file explorer can stream everything from my shares on my network, so i don't see any reason why others can't do it with a musicapp.
so still waiting for someone to make it

Have fun waiting; or you could always write your own app. Have fun!
Edit: BTW, you should change the title of this thread. You're not looking for a decent player, there are many of those around. You're just too picky and like to easily dismiss good alternatives.

Looking good is one thing, functionality is another, and the best all round player I've come across is Meridian. I've tried a good few players but nothing, in terms of functionality comes close to Meridian.

3 aka Cube is great....
Yea, Cube can be great ... but is not that great when it search all my SD card for music and finds sounds from games, navigation software, etc.
It takes me a lot to "scroll" between meaningless "music" to find what i need.
There are many music players.
for me i am using Mixzing because it has Equilizer and has gud headset support.
Othar than this Astro beta version is gud if u r not using headset.
Try gomusic..

The lockscreen sold me. And the black theme looks great on the X10.
Only thing I wish is that it had ratings, so I could rate the music I listen to. But otherwise, it is well worth the few dollars.
Cube 3 is nice, but a little but flickery when scrolling.

What are you trying to log into? You don't need to log into anything as long as it isn't a video service or something, or if you're trying to use DLNA.

Ney, this is the full version of XBox Media Center (XBMC) that you run on your phone. You can play movies and tv shows directly on your phone by streaming movies/shows from other services directly from the app with some plugins, or you can play the local files on your phone.
But the main use for this app is to connect your device to a TV with MHL and use it like you do on your computer.
If you haven't used XBMC on your computer before, i recommend you download it and try it out before you use this version. It's much harder to learn it on a 5.3" screen

Early XBMC build

My Apologizes I forget where I found this. I will update with proper credit if I find it.
This is an early build of XBMC. http://xbmc.org/theuni/2012/07/13/xbmc-for-android/
Considering the early build and that I only have 76 megs of ram free on my KF when Xbmc is idling. This build runs pretty smooth.
Out of the box.
It played .mp4 .avi .m4v like a champ
It played .avi .mp4 that are still in rar packages, over a SMB share from my nexus s like a champ.
It played a (unprotected) rtmp stream .
mms , asx streams no problem.
I didn't mess around with plug-ins too much, but It loaded addons from the desktop version.

Hi there,
You want to do one of two things.
Set up a samba share (the normal network shares in windows) or even better set up a DLNA server. There are programs around to make this super easy. TVersity is my favorite, you just point it towards the folders and let it run, unfortunately its been $4 since version two but if you look around enough you might be able to find a free earlier version.
Once you have done this XBMC will discover them on the network and you can add them as libraries.

I've been using Serviio on my headless linux box to stream online sources through upnp to my fire. I've been able to get hulu content as well using the plugin in the forums. There is also a Windows version; however, I have not tried it.

I'm sure the developer doesn't mean any harm. Hopefully he'll be able to explain why. I'm not a dev, yet all I know is that a lot of apps that enable you to share things on facebook and other sharing sites, like to have access to your accounts. Maybe this is why this app wants access too?
Either way, I think it's a fantastic app. If only I could wind back the clock by 3,5 years so I could start making pics from the day my son was born

In the Play store it states that it will backup your project to your Google Drive account. This would be why the app needs access to accounts.
There seems to be a bug with recent CM10.1 builds and this app. It worked fine before, but now whenever I take a pic it just freezes on the camera screen (although the app itself is still responsive) it doesn't proceed to the preview screen to confirm the pic. However I noticed this only happens when my face is actually in the middle of the image. If I take a pic of something else it goes on to the preview screen just fine.
This makes me think it's something to do with the "slow and buggy" face detection, but I get the same results whether it's turned on or off.
Any ideas?
Great App!
Just became a dad 2 months ago and I love this app. However, it will only create an SD video. If I try to go 720 or 1080 it gives an error something like "failed to create video, try changing video settings".
I have tried a few different video settings to no avail. Has anyone got any ideas?
Regards
Keliuss
