UPDATE :
Here is the package containing all the APK files from the Market (thanks to androidnews.de): DOWNLOAD
source : http://techfrom10.com/2011/04/the-android-test-market/
Where/how did you get this if it isn't on the market?
It's not official - Google accidently activated it on the Galaxy S. Full story is here:
http://techfrom10.com/2011/04/the-android-test-market/
The music app is a lot more polished than the previous leak including proper menus, streaming options and library modes.
If you have the previous leak installed you have to uninstall it to allow upgrading to the new version, but I assure you it is worth it!
New versions of Camera and Gallery3D are also on TechFrom10. They are not installable however I've unzipped the .apks and it should not be impossible to patch with 2.3 compatibility There are lots of new graphics in the .apks, everything looks like Honeycomb - but on mobile phones
So will installing this overwrite the current music app?
I'm running the GB leak (non-rooted) on a Droid 2. If necessary, will I be able to revert back to the stock music app?

I think you have to be rooted in order to over-write the stock apps, but as I my phone is rooted, I don't know for sure. Feel free to give it a go and let us know!
If you do get it installed then it can be uninstalled which will revert you back to the stock music app.

Just put it on sdcard and Installed via root explorer just by clicking and it just installed it as if its a standalone app, doesnt overwrite android music app.
It looks great.. background seems to change to that of the album art.
And the sound is alot better than HTC music or Stock android music
Check out the landscape mode ....
Can i install on my Wildfire or my Nexus S?
I installed it but the interface was pretty laggy on my phone. No lockscreen music controls either, which is a deal breaker for me.
It installed fine, didn't overwrite the stock app, and I was able to uninstall it.
Do you guys think a reboot would have fixed the lagginess? Is there an option I didn't see to turn on lockscreen controls?
It runs fine on my Desire. The only "lag" I found was on the first load when it populated the library.
I don't seem to have any lock-screen controls either, but then that was the case on the previous leak also.
I'm using an Nexus S with latest GRI54 stock rom, and this thing is not exactly flying.. It's loaded all my music though

Confirmed working on wildfire, not much lag too.
Gave it a shot on my fascinate w/2.2
I liked the overall graphical change from the standard, plain music app. I had a few issues (more like annoyances) with it though.
-If I want to go back to my song list after opening the app via widget, i'm used to just pressing the menu button real fast to go to my library. Apparantly that's been done away with, and now you have to press a tiny button at the top-left of the screen to get to it. Not the most convinient or fastest way to do things, especially if you're a righty.
-Switching songs a bit too rapidly may cause it to lag up and force close.
-No longer able to delete music straight from the app.
I'll be messing with this a lot more once I get some sleep...
Atrix 4G 1.57 update.. definitely not optimised but its definitely louder ;D
I see that TechFrom10 has also published their new Market apk... I wonder if it'll get app updates from Google.. If that's the case, perhaps we will soon see updated versions of Gallery3D, Camera and DeskClock that actually installs
I'm not sure I'm gonna try it anyway, I use too many protected apps (that probably will break), so I won't install the new Market any time soon... Waiting for success story from someone else first
I replaced the new market with the current stock one. Works same as before. I can't see any changes. Neither in the look nor technically. ???
The camera works, but only for pictures
New clock and Gallery wont work (
A note to everyone here:
Hey guys, it's Tim Schiesser (the guy with the phone that obtained this app through the test Market)
There are a lot of other apps on this Market in a "beta" stage that I can't install for some reason. If anyone would like to instruct me on how to pull these off the Market that would be great. I can see:
Visual Voicemail (does nothing)
Sound Recorder v103
Google CarHome v1000
Google Gallery 3D v1.1.40682 (not the same as the 10.2 version)
Google Voice v100.4.2.23
Facebook 10.0
Google News and Weather v9.3.3
GTalk 9.5.3 (with permissions for camera)
I'll check here occasionally, but it would be faster to contact me through Tech From 10
And I thought the Market wouldn't do anything. It's also probably only a matter of time before Google pulls my access.
Enjoy the Music Player too, by the way
The camera works on CM7 both recording so does the music app the gallery keeps crashing let's see if we can get it working. I'm so disappointed in Google why are they still not using a full view finder for the camera.

Just dropped this on a wildfire for a lass at work and it's working without any problems

Installation:
1,download attached file
2,Send it to Your device
3,Install it! - The Music and JumperTest icons appear in your menu
Simple isn´t it?You don´t need to replace anything in system files.REALLY
One of installed icon is JUMPERTEST! What is that all about? As far as we can tell, using all of our intuition powers, is that this is the key to streaming all of your music – from your desktop and from the cloud, back down to your handset. Sounds like a big deal? That’s because it totally is. This right here could be the key to spurring up competition for the iPod. Holy crap can you even believe it?
When you’re in the JumperTest app, take a peek under your Controls tab – you’ll see Start Peer, Stop Peer, and Import Local Media. Neato! Then when you’re back in the Music Player app, check under Music settings – there are straight up options for streaming. It even appears that you’ll be able to cache streamed music for later use – fabulous!
Then there’s a search function you can use on any song – all you’ve got to do is a longpress and it pops up with multiple options – the coolest of which right now is the ability to move right to YouTube. You like the song and want to see if there’s a music video to go with? Easy!
And here comes some more screenshots:
I hope You will like it! And don´t forget, that this is only testing version: stability can´t be as good as expected and some functions (like Equalizer) aren´t included.
Have a nice day!
Matty
this is awesome gave thanks for posting it
Do you still have lag in the music when you draw the status bar?
Its still in beta right?

I'm running JMA. I tried to install it before and it asked to overwrite the system app (which it obviously can't do) then tried deleting the stock app and replacing it with this one using Root Explorer but I got fc constantly. Seems to be the same with this apk.

works fine with jmc and my hd2 got both music players
side note 137 downloads and ony 2 thanks wow
Well visually this is a massive improvement over the poor original player. Thanks for the post.
The big question, does it do gapless mp3 playback?
fc everytime!

You have to remember that this app is not indicative of how the TAB will run Honeycomb or even Honeycomb apps. This .apk is Beta (at best) it may even be alpha. Once Honeycomb is released on ASOP, then we can see how the Honeycomb .apks will work on the TAB.
hmm, let's hope so
coz i really2 want honeycomb for my tab ^^
Nice looking player, can't wait to see the final and stable versions appear. Does this come with a widget or is it too early for such things?
Thx for posting though
There is a widget. You can add it on Your homescreen as usual:Left menu icon->Add->Widgets->Music....and here it comes but it doesn´t show the album art, just name of the file and possibility to stop the music or skip to another track.....works like a charm
There is a problem parsing the package.
Won't install, downloaded on the tab and emailed the apk to my son's desire and it installed fine there, but not on the tab! Strange.
Thank you sir. Works on my SGT. Stock Rom

Callsettings.apk
CSC.apk
DialerTabActivity.apk
Mms.apk
Phone.apk
Phone_util.apk
TelephonyProvider.apk

3. Reboot
Working:
Bluetooth
Wifi
GPS

USB
Media Player Sync
Browser
Stock Music
CAMERA [5/20 - Update]
much more
*** To fix the camera I installed "GizmoDroid's Modded Camera" using SGSTools***
Battery Life: 99% after 4 hours in standby
I would love help fixing the camera and turning this into a flashable ROM. Additonally, there may be more APKs that can be deleted but it works like this so I don't want to mess with it.
Additionally, if anyone has any of the Galaxy S 4 and 5 specific apps, I would love to see if we could integrate them into this.

Very interesting idea, I can take the cell related stuff out of the notification bar as well. I can help you package it all up later tonight when I get off work. Maybe even get the camera working
That would be great. I will not be home until later tonight, but would love to see how we can package this up and make sure everything works. I also want to run some battery tests to see what the usuable life is like.

Couldn't you just hit the power button and deactivate data mode and then activate airplane mode?
I visit other countries and that what I do with my phone. Pretty much just use Wifi only. It only drops like 10% for the entire day.

The goal was to remove all cellular features including emergency calls so that it would operate purely as a media device. This way I could give it to a child to use as a media player without having to worry about them figuring out how to turn the call features on etc.

Ah, I didn't catch that part. Sounds like a worthwhile endeavor then.
great job and great idea. I'll be watching this thread closely. if it becomes a flashable zip, I can totally see this getting popular as people start upgrading their devices.
Great idea. I wouldn't use it, at least until I get a newer phone, but a great idea.
Or maybe just remove the sim card?
I saw this being discussed in an earlier thread, the problem with taking the sim out is it still allows for 911 calls to be made and with a child having it anything could happen.

v.9 beta launched in Development Forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14087277#post14087277
Seems like an interesting idea.
I really like this idea and will likely do this someday.
I wonder if you could just freeze those apps with TiBu... seems like it would work too. That way it is quickly undoable. (is that a real word?) LOL
GPS not working...
Long story short....I now have a work phone and ported my personal cell to Google Voice. I now have a Captivate that I don't have service for. I would love to use it for a PMP and my golf GPS (Using GolfShot). I installed Captivate Touch, Cognition Edition v2.0 - KB1 2.2 by DesignGears from your thread in the development section. I was unable to get GPS to work. So I decided to install Serendipity 6.4 and remove the APK's myself. Still no GPS. Anyone have any thoughts on how to get GPS to work again?

NEW 11-18-11: Version 1.1.3 with working rotation is now available.
★☆★ THE VERSIONS POSTED BELOW SHOULD WORK ON ALL ANDROID DEVICES ★☆★
Original OP and more info Post #2
So I saw the new commercial for the Droid Bionic with the hot kickboxer chick accessing files, music, videos on the fly from her computer. After I figured out what app it was I tried to go to Zumocast.com to get it, only to find that only the Droid 3 and Bionic were supported. I tried to find the apk (since it would not show up on the market) and install it only to get an error saying "not installed" After some digging I found a previous version that works perfectly with the current desktop version. Edit: Now all new versions are being patched and posted below.
This is not cloud storage, Zumocast lets you open/save your files and stream music and videos from your computers to your phone or web browser.
Files downloaded using the app at stored in /sdcard/download/ZumoCast/... [downloaded tab now works in ver.1.1.2]
Thanks to user: dodava for all his work!
Be sure to thank him! Here: http://goo.gl/YAFFC
Change log: Version 1.1.2 [with rotation]
Dodava's:
Disabled: device check
Disabled: upgrade check
Disabled: some Motorola specific items such as Data Saver mode check. These didn't affect functionality but did fill up logs with error messages.
Disabled: check of carrier video over 3G restrictions
Enabled: auto rotate of video playback
Changed: settings used when playing flash video to allow flash to use hardware acceleration if it supports it on a platform.
Zumocast's:
Fixed: Cannot open file if no SD card is available
Fixed: The Downloaded folder can not be opened in Files tab
Fixed: Allow unknown artist/album to be played
CyanogenMod users must have Adobe Flash Player 11 (or newer) installed for Video Playback to work.
Update via the Market or get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18758880&postcount=117 [thanks Arjs]
If your having playback issues (on any rom) make sure your flash player is up to date before you post here about it.
Please post if you have any problems/questions. (Include Device/Rom)
The one in the OP works perfectly on the ET4G, lol... Thanks... trying in a bit with my 3d.

Tried editing my build.prop to match a Droid Bionic and it still won't install Anyone have luck getting 1.0.25 to install or upgrade? 1.0.17 works fine but I'd like to use the latest version. 1.0.17 works fine obviously, but I'd like to run the latest version.

Im working on getting the new version patched. Im not convinced it is in any way different or better though. Motorola bought Zumocast and I have a feeling all they did was repackage it and restrict its use to the Bionic.. Typical bull****. The main advantage I can see at this point is to remove the update prompt at start up. I understand the urge to have the latest and greatest but the previous version works perfectly and may be exactly the same feature/function wise.
I also tried build.prop edit with no luck so moving on to removing the market link.
On a side note the fact that Motorola bought the app and made it free for their devices works in our favor cause otherwise it would have been a $29.99 app.
Already one of the best apps ever.. been using it all day. I'd hit that thanks button a 100 times if I could, You rock. Thx!
Noticed the AndroidManifest.xml has a line indicating a dependency on a Motorola blur library. You may want to edit this and try installing. Then hope it doesn't really need blur.
I would try myself but I'm not near a computer.

Thanks for contributing.
I also noticed the <uses-library android:name="com.motorola.blur.library.home"/>
line in the XML. I removed it, recompiled the apk, and pushed it to the phone. It did in fact successfully install. However when I open the app I get "This device not currently supported.." So this is a step in the right direction. At this point I think changing the build.prop will work. Im going to keep working on the code tho and only post the apk if all else fails. Build.prop edits can have side effects and I would like to get this done the right way, especially since we have a working version.

No, that's strange, videos only play in landscape on my Evo 3D. If it still happens on 1.0.25 (once its working) I will take a look and possibly put out version with the rotation switched.

All my music stored on my SD card appears listed twice in the google music app. Anyone know a fix? This only started when I switched from sense to cm7.

It won't install for me...
I tried to install the 4.0.9 apk, replacing current version (4.0.1), but I got the error "application not installed".
I uninstalled 4.0.1, rebooted, then installed 4.0.9, and it installed fine. The only problem is I lost all of my cached music.
Also, what are the changes for 4.0.9, I can't notice anything different?
Edit: running CM7.1.0.1 on a nexus s
It wont let me install it, and when I dl from the market it says its not signed

you can share when you buy a new track, or share an already shared song.
Thanks for this share ;-)
In Switzerland I can't update this one :-(
Thanks, installing!
Hope it will be useful in Catalonia.
Thanks for sharing, works like a charm on nexus s 3g in Norway. Love the ICS look on this!
not sure why, but it refuses to install on my SGS2 (running CM7.1) but installs with no problems in my motoXoom.

I guess you have your phone set to think that "external" is the internal storage?
Under Settings->CM Settings->Application Settings, your "Use Internal Storage" should be unchecked for your phone to use the SD card.
HOWEVER,
if you do that I'd suggest copying all the files in your phone's internal storage to your SD card, otherwise you'll end up with a lot of "broken links".
On my Nexus One works like a charm
Thanks a lot!

Nike+ Running was released for Android last night in the Play Store.
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT THE DEVELOPER OF THIS APP. IM PURELY PUTTING THIS HERE FOR INFORMATION. ANY BUG REPORTS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED DIRECTLY TO THE APP DEVELOPER.
Full description here:
The most popular running app is now available on Android, for free!
Map your runs, track your progress and get the motivation you need to reach your goals. No sensor or additional products needed, just grab your phone and go.
- From the trail to the treadmill, your phone's GPS and accelerometer accurately record your distance, pace, and time. In-run audio feedback lets you know these metrics at every mile, so you can stay focused on your run.
- Get in-ear cheers from your friends on Facebook when you broadcast that you’ve started a run. Tag the friends you ran with and share a map of your route with friends and family.
- Have a song that gets you pumped? Set up PowerSongs to give yourself a boost with the tap of a button.
- Our Run Summary makes it easy to view your route and track how you felt, the terrain you tackled, and the weather you endured.
- Rotate your phone while viewing the Run Summary to see the breakdown of your run into mile splits.
- See how your last run stacks up against your previous seven, and get fresh insights based on your latest activity every time you come back to the app.
- Swipe upwards on the Home Screen to view your next moves. From picking your PowerSongs to challenging one of your personal bests, there’s always something to make your running experience better than before.
- Visualize all your runs side-by-side and see your progress in a bar graph history view.
- Syncing your run to the Nikeplus.com website allows you to view your maps on a larger screen, set a new goal, and find Nike+ Top Routes in your area. Check it out.
- There’s even shoe tagging. Type in the name of your running shoes to track the distance they’re logging and see when it’s time to lace up a new pair. You’re never done running, but your shoes might be.
- Need extra motivation? Add a widget to your phone’s home screen to show when you ran last, display your total mileage, and for even quicker access into a run.
- Some features such as Share Run and Cheer Me On require users to be connected to a wireless network for full functionality. Please note that continued use of GPS running in the background could dramatically decrease battery life.

When i tried to download this from the Play Store it said my device (HTC One X) was incompatible. I have installed the APK directly and it works perfectly!! Post below if you find its working for you too!!
EDIT: If you want the latest updates you need to download and install market enabler (will add apk in a sec), change country to t-mobile (us) and in Play store hit menu -> settings -> my apps, and there should be an option to update nike+.
Market Enabler- APK Link
OP updated with APK download!!
once i went into settings in the app it crashes and wont come back untill i reset data on app. probably because my DPI is changed to 241 instead of stock 320 :/ no nike runnning for me... yet
Seems to be working fine on my Arc. Will go for a run later to confirm!
Thanks for uploading.

Don't work on my galaxy nexus...
I have it, and happily using it on my samsung Galaxy Note, with ICS.
However, I just recently noticed that it has been eating up my battery, even when I am done using it. According to ICS battery consumption, it is on top of the list, and even eating up greater power than the screen.
So , how do I properly shut this app down, including its background processes after using it?
does anyone have the latest 1.0.2 apk for this with stability fixes? In the UK only O2 customers can get this app until the end of the year

Many thanks for this post but would heartily echo the sentiment asking if anyone has access to the 1.0.2 APK and would be willing to share...
Many thanks,

The photo sharing is only for iOS? It's nice how add your run data over the photo..
