[SOLVED] Jabra BT3030 only controls TouchFlo3D music player. Any workarounds? - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hello people
I want to use PocketMusic with my new BT earphones, but somehow every time I push a button on the Jabra, the TF3D player kicks in.
The same happens with every other app, sound comes through Jabra as intended, but the controls can only control the TouchFlo player.
Is there any workaround to that?! I've been searching for a while and found nothing.
I'm using stock rom.
A couple of days back I managed to get the headset keys working with PocketMusic, without TouchFlo kicking in, but I can't even remember the steps. Possibly it was random.

I'm thinking it could be as easy as a registry edit but for the life of me, I don't know that much about registry editing...
Is there an available option to set PocketMusic as the default player? I'm thinking it has something to do with that but I can only think of these possible work arounds as I have no real experience with editing the registry, aside from editing what others have said to edit. Wish I could be of more help...

Well I thought so too, but it turns out it's a matter of drivers..
I found this after hours of searching (again, it was right under my nose!). I really was reluctant to try a 6.5 driver on a stock 6.1 device, but I did and it worked!
Only disadvantage is that it broke Jabra controls with the TouchFlo 3D Music player, but really, who cares
I will continue testing it but I don't think it breaks anything else.

How does the Touch Pro work as an Mp3 player?

Hi!
After many years of windows mobile, ive had an iPhone (so sorry) for a month now, and im going back to WinMo (through the HTC Touch Pro) now.
However, what I loved with the iPhone is how it integrated well as an mp3 player. However, I remember when I tried to use the Touch Dual as an Mp3 player, it sucked the battery big time! (10-15 minutes of playback drained 10% of the battery at least).
Just wondering if this is still an issue with the Touch Pro? Or if mp3 playback is not such an power consuming activity any more?
Anyone here use their Touch pro's or diamonds for music regularly?
Thanks!
I use mine almost daily for biking and still have roughly 75% left after 2.5-3 hour workouts. I do turn off all data connections and am only running the HTC music player from the today screen.
Thats not too bad! Definetly better than my previous experiences! Have to get a mini-jack converter though ofc. lol
I use AD2P Bluetooth headset, it works very nicely
The only thing that I'm missing is the absence of Shake-Control, to changhe the current track without turning on the screen or using any keys.
Ya do need to use the mini-jack convertor. I bought the one that has the 3.5 jack and mini usb for charging. It works pretty good but sometimes briefly cutsout when I am riding hard. Wish it had the 3.5 as standard. Sounds like HTC is getting smarter with the HD.
any other experiences concerning battery usage of the mp3-player?
EDIT: Ive also heard that if you have lots mp3's on the device, the touchFLO will have a tough time when trying to load it all up!
My MP3 setup
I just use MP and I use a2dp headphones (big DJ style Motorola ones) Sound is great and I use voice command to control what I'm listening to or the buttons on my headphones. Batter life seems fine when using mp3, but overall the battery life on my Touch Pro is pretty poor.
A2DP (stereo bluetooth) is a joy to use.

A true A2DP headset has track change controls on it...
Try the Sony DR-BT22 headset, really small and compact folding headset with good Bass quality and integral mike for call answer and pairs perfectly to the Touch Pro.
Battery life on the Touch Pro is quite good considering the technical specifications! However, as I mentioned, I currently (untill I get my Touch pro tomorrow) have an iPhone, which does have a great mp3-player!
Just wondering.. It seems Touch Pro checks for all mp3 files each time you access the music player, even through touchFLO, and ive read that if you have a lot of music this will take a while and is annoying if you access your music player a lot!
Thanks!

It only checks for new files if any changes have been made. I have over 4Gb of music on my SD card and after the first library update, it never had to check again.
Tad better than the old manual library update you Had to do in Media player every time you changed something.
So even with 4GB of music, there are no slow downs etc?
Btw, how well does music playback work when you are using your device? Does the music start chopping the moment you start using another app as well, etc? Remember my Touch Dual had some choppiness.. lol

Not that I've noticed. Only glitch I've ever come across was when connecting to USB for activesync (using BT headset) but this is really understandable as Async is processor heavy and needs multiple file access.
A good Equaliser would be preferred for use with BT as the standard included only works when wired is connected. There is a tweak available to fool the unit into thinking the wired HS is on but this dissappears on soft reset.
Still, overall I am quite pleased with this as battery life is better than other HTC products. Had a second Touch Pro in my office desk (evaluating them for a project) for 8 days on standby when a call came through on it!!
The slowdown happens when you add new music to the memory card (specifically, after you disconnect "Disk Drive" mode or when you turn the device on and TF3d loads). How much of a slowdown depends on how much music you add at a time, but once it's scanned the files and updated the library database, the slowdown doesn't occur again.
Listening to mp3s in the background while using other applications is possible, but it's not perfect. As a point of reference, I've had no problems listening to music and using Opera. However if there are some extra background apps, chopping can occur. But on the bright side, it always seem to be relatively brief, and so far hasn't caused my device to lock up or crash. I haven't done any precise or extensive testing, so naturally YMMV.
+1 for the Raphael battery not being great, but the TF3d music player not using very much power.
i charge my phone during work, then i turn on music and proceed to take an hour train ride back home, check some email and continue to listen to music for a couple of hours til dinner; afterward setup new appointments and crap for the next day, then more music for hour or two, then go to sleep without charging. next day the 3 alarms ring for the full length, then the hour train ride to work with music again. 35% +/-4% remaining when i get to work. the cycle continues
Thanks for your experience! Gives me great confidence in getting one! Just hoping I can find a mini-jack converter in time

A2DP question
Just wondering with the touch pro, does the device slow down when using A2DP? I have a hermes and whenever I use mortplayer with A2DP the device is almost non-responsive even though the music sounds great.

I think it's actually very good - no slowdowns that I've noticed. For example listening to music with my SE HBH-DS980 A2DP-headset and browsing through RSS-feeds I can't detect any slowing down or choppiness, neither in music playback nor RSS-browser. Also I think the UI stays (almost) as responsive as ever.

mkhattab has collected a few tweaks (sticky in Diamond thread) that work for the Touch Pro also.
Enable Audio Booster without headset-->HKLM/System/State/Hardware/Headset set the value to 1 (soft reset will bring it back to 0)
I prefer adding individual reg edits via a reg editor rather than one of the Tweak packages as I had BT connection problems with my Infiniti handsfree after using Schap's advanced configuration tool.
This one is a simple little gem that does not use up memory. Run it on your PC when connected via Async.

Button on diamond headset

Hi! I'm sorry if this is posted, but I've searched and found nothing on this issue.
My question is about the standard handsfree headset wich comes in the original package. My issue is that I don't use the button for calling people, but I would rather use it for... Changing songs or muting the sound. Something else... Is there a way to do this?
bump?
cause im calling people without even knowing, just listening to music..
I don’t think it is because it’s just for pick-up and to call the last called number or for voiced programmed numbers
still have the same problem...even while listening to music it starts a call.
does there anybody have a solution to disable this button?
Don't press it!
How hard is it to press? I don't know what you are doing to press it but I don't have this problem.
If you just want to listen to music then get a usb to audio out jack off ebay and plug in a nice set of headphones.
why should I buy a audio-adapter if there might is a software solution?
but we don't need to push the button as hard as the buttons on the diamond...it is much softer!
Hi,
YES there is a software solution. I was looking for it for one year, but then I found PlayPause:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=498349
Basically, you use the button to pause/play (double "click") and NEXT (long press) while the normal one click answers a call is untouched.
I am using it with COreplayer and it is excellent. Have to try several versions of PlayPause though.
Another solution is Microsoft VoiceCommand but more complicated.
Hope that helps!
cheers

This is what i did as a solution:
I grabbed the thing you have to push and kinda pulled it out. Then its broken, but you can still listen music without calling people.

Set musicvolume very low

Hi guys
I have one big problem with my orbit2. If I use my headset to listen to music, the music is far to loud for my to enjoy it.
So here ist my question is there a prog or a regestry hack so i can change the volume lower, especially in the htc audio manager?
I allready searched, but couldn't find a good solution to my problem.
Have a nice day
FallenOne
turn the phone volume down maybe
Well I allready tried that. Music gets quieter, but not quiet enough.
maybe muting the sound altogether may be the trick
(joking of course im not really experience with this type of phone, may i sugest changing thread title to "changing default volumne on orbit 2"
WMP
Hi
If you use Windows Media you can turn the system volume down to minimum and then WMP volume down to 5%!
That will definitely be quiet enough, if you can hear it at all!
Cheers

Equalizer that works over bluetooth a2dp

Hi,
Does anybody know if there is some sort of equalizer application available for the TD2? Prefferably one that works with a2dp. I use my diamond2 to stream music to my Parrot MKI9000 carkit via a2dp. The music sounds good but a little flat. The parrot only has an option to boost the bass. I would like to have a bit more control.
Thanx!!
I tried HD Tweak to activate HTC Booster without the cable headset connected.
But the equalizer settings doesn't have any effects
I also tried SRS WOW, but the 1.5 version was not able to run ...
Hopefully HTC activates the Booster for bluetooth devices with the next ROM.
Got SRS WOW working although a bit buggy
Hi.
I managed to get SRS WOW working. It is a bit buggy.
It doesn't remember all settings after a soft-rest.
Sometimes device won't turn on. Have to soft-reset.
Not all settings have a desired effect. It seems that the equalize options aren't optimized for the Diamond2.
But if you fiddle a bit with the settings you get quite a good sound.
The file attached is the version i got working.
Install the cabs, import the reg file, soft-reset and you're good to go.
Burning Wheels
Do you, or anyone else, happen to know if this will work with the original Touch (elf).
Alternatively can you recommend an equalizer that will work with bluetooth and the Touch
Thanks
I don't know if this works on the Touch (elf). Maybe you can ask this in the Touch (elf) forum.

WM Volume vs. Ringtone Volume

I have spent the last couple of days searching the net trying to find an answer and have come up empty handed. For starters I'm running the Verizon Touch Pro 2. The issue I can't seem to figure out is why does an MP3 file play nice and loud when playing through Windows Media on the phone (maintains constant volume) but when I set it as the ringtone the volume starts off normal but then decreases quite a bit? I have tried this with several MP3s and they all seem to do the same thing.
Going nuts with this.......
Thanks much for any help, input or direction.
Edit: and for the record, yes, I did try both registry tweaking and using the updated AudioPara3.csv with no difference.
Brian
There is a setting called "Be Polite" or something along those lines, it reduces the volume as soon as the accelerometer senses that you have picked up (physically) the phone - I bet that is causing your problem. There is a CAB to disable it in the MightyROM thread on PPCGeeks Here - I am not sure if this will work on the stock Rom or not, but it is worth a try. You may also be able to disable it in settings somewhere, but I am not sure where.
Hope this helps,
Patrick
Thanks much...I greatly appreciate the reply. I'll give it some research. Only issue I can think of is when I'm playing these MP3 files, both in WM and as a ringtone preview, the phone is lying flat on a surface and not being moved at all.
Guess we'll see.....
