[Q] Repeat a slideshow while docked? - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all,
I recently picked up a dock for my Xoom, and I'm wondering if there's somewhat to make the slideshow of the gallery loop. Right now it plays through all the pictures in the album and quits. With it in the dock, I'd like to just have it always displaying pictures.
Anyway to do this? Or some third party app that does the trick?
Thanks,
-Dan

Dan, There may a quick hack to do this. But I believe it would be easier to found an new app or widget that did that for you. I will try doing additional search, and see if I can found something. Have a Good Day! TD in KY

[Q] Wallpaper "cropping" not working properly (multi-touch)?

Hi all,
I am still very new to my Xoom (have only had it for about a week) and I have noticed what seems to be a glitch with the "wallpaper resizer/cropping tool" in the gallery when I am trying to set new wallpapers.
On all of my other Android devices (past and present) when I resize the picture to make it may wallpaper I can simply do so by using 2 fingers (pinch to zoom) but when I try this on my Xoom it is only recognizing one finger at a time and I have to resize by moving the box down, then to the right, then up, then to the left, etc.
Does anyone else have this issue and if so does anyone know how to fix it?
Please advise...
Thanks in advance...
That's going to be the least of your concern. I'm trying to figure out how to enable the whole wallpaper instead of cropping it.

LOL... Ya... I read your thread as well. I can get my wallpapers to work from the gallery using the crop feature but it is a pain in the a$$ to do when it wont work properly...
One easy way to get all of the wallpaper to view is to install wallpaper slide show. It's a live wallpaper but it allows viewing of the whole thing.

Hi all,
I had this same problem until another thread on this forum where some one mentioned the Live Wallpaper app that solves these problems and works really well you can give it a try as its free.

Can someone tell me how to configure the app? When I click on folders it FC's.

Photo Slideshow Android App?

Any one know of a good Android app for viewing or creating picture slide shows. I want to be able to select multiple albums, add music and have transitions. Basically iPhoto on the tablet. The stock Asus Photo app nor Quick Pic can achieve what I want to do.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
TIA
im searching for the same thing xD
In deed im seaching for build my own slider... but i dont know how T.T
Quickpic is a decent app only it's slow with the slideshow.
The only thing I miss in the standard app is the duration of the slide show, it's WAY to fast! Now it's ugly when I use it as an photo slider....
Floating image , look great
Floating image os good, thx
DroidIris+ nice too

Photo Frame Screensaver?

Is there any sort of photo frame app for Honeycomb?
I'm looking for something that can display say selected Picasa photos or something of the like that will just flick through them.
Basically, an app which does what those digital frames do. I would just use tasker to start the app up after a certain period of time
You can try JustPictures, it has a slideshow option , that I'm sure Tasker could start, and it accesses a few online photosites, including Picasa, and of course on board pics

multipicture live wallpaper.... it does just that....but i dont know if it uses picasa pictures....has to be on your microsd or ur internal sdcard.... dont quote me on that but i use it and it rotates pictures at whatever interval you specify
Exactly what I am looking for. I have tried a lot of things and I had it working perfectly to my uses in my previous android 2.0 tablet. I used Plug In Launcher or phoneweaver to launch photo slides, but any photo app would work well in this regard. I liked photo slide because it was simple. The key for me with a program launcher is that it would only engage after power was plugged in. Phoneweaver was nice because I could also set brightness to 100% and never lock the screen.
Enter the transformer, and now I have a problem that I havent been able to solve. Android 3.0 thinks that you are plugged into the wall when you attach the dock and no other launcher is aware of this difference with the transformer. I have emailed the developers of several of these programs and have not received any response about if they plan to code something specifically for users of the transformer.
Tasker was mentioned here, any idea if it supports the power plug properly on the transformer? Or some other suggestion?

full 'FULL' screen slideshow app?

I'm currently using QuickPic as my slideshow program, but the one thing I find is that the image don't show up 'full' screen, and I mean by hiding the bottom taskbar. Are there ANY programs out there will can do this (hide the bottom taskbar) and show images at full res of the tablet?
I'm really interested in this, too. Even some of the office programs like Polaris or Quick Office don't seem to have a way to view slideshows (like PowerPoint presentations) in a way that completely fills the 1280*800 screen.
Don't think it's possible. Probably something hard coded into Honeycomb because of the lack of hardware keys, but I could be wrong.
I have an idea how it could be helped. But I don't have time to write an app that does that - so maybe someone will. The idea is simple: rotate the screen to portrait, but show everything in landscape. That way you have nice 1200x800 screen resolution (because the stupid status bar in on the right, not at the bottom).
Also if you can - star this issue in Android bug tracker: http://code.google.com/p/android/is...=4&colspec=ID Type Status Owner Summary Stars
And this one maybe too: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=15408 (but it's closed so probably noone from Google reads it).

Replying to a 2 year old thread with app recommendation....I'm going to just think your a shill. But you did make it obvious with your signature, so I guess just a evangelist for your app.
Since this thread is a live again. I use Digital PhotoFrame, because it's one of the few that support reading the photos from a network storage (NAS).

I actually use it with my Touchpad Android4.0 so that it autolaunches (via tasker) when docked.

I purchased this app as well, it works great. How did you get it to autolaunch with Tasker?
I've been tying to figure out how to do the same thing.

I'm the developer of digital photo frame. First of all, thank you for buying the premium version. Some other user figured out how to autolaunch with tasker. I can't post the link yet (new user ...) but the title of the google group post is "Tasker, Digital Photo Frame Premium, and Autorun"
Anyway, the settings should be
Action: android.intent.action.view
Cat:None
Mime Type:
Data:file:///PathToYourPhotoAlbum
Extra:be.wyseur.photo.recursive:recursive
Extra:
Package:be.wyseur.photo.buy
Class:be.wyseur.photo.PhotoFrameActivity_

S View Cover tricks?

Hey guys,
Just got myself an S View Cover on Amazon and while it's gorgeous and adds some nice weight and size (2mm goes a long way) It seems to really have no features. I was wondering if anyone knew of any tricks, tips, or maybe apps that can interact or make it more featureful? At this point I can answer, reject and hang up calls. That's about it. Seeing info is cool but maybe media player controls would be nice. Any thoughts or tips?

If your not rooted, there is nothing you can do. If your rooted, there is an exposed framework module that puts music controls and scrolls song titles on the sview screen. That is the only thing out there right now I believe.
Thanks for the update. I'm rooted but hadn't used XPosed for anything outside of modding wallet awhile ago. This should add some nice functionality to S View. It's pretty, just not featureful.
