Ok. Here's How this works.
We are all n00Bs here at some point. Most of us here have learned what we have through cooperation, patience, and work. Yes work. We have a great communal knowledge here that covers nearly every aspect of our devices, so you can pretty much rest assured that you can find an answer (even if the answer is no) to just about any question you have here if you SEARCH the forums.
That being said. I have personally had a lot of trouble finding answers to questions I've had simply because there is SO MUCH INFORMATION on this forum. This is where I've decided to step in to help.
Note: I'm am in no way a pro at the inner workings of our pda's, I find my answers the same way you are expected to, by searching.
If you cannot find the answers you're looking for elsewhere in the forum, then you can feel free to post your question in this thread. I will then do a search of the forum (if I don't already know the answer) and post it at the beginning of this thread. Naturally, if the answer is already here, don't ask the question again as I will just direct you to the first page.
'
YOU WILL NOT BE FLAMED FOR ANY QUESTION ON THIS PAGE!
I wish you all luck in making your phones the best they can be.

At first, I wanted to get more responds by posting this at a more popular section. But I still post it here, hope that some of the developer that I really admired can read and reply my post here.
Like A_C, Ariey.
My question is where can I learn to be a developer?
ANy link for me?
Check the skicky's in development and hacking next time, here you go.

hyelton, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Please Read: New members (those with fewer than 10 posts) are not permitted to post to development-related forums. The developer forums are intended for experienced users and developers to discuss ways to improve technical aspects related to ROMs and Software. While you may be an expert, we ask ALL users to avoid posting questions about using or installing ROMs and software in the Development Forums. To encourage this new Users can read but not post in these forums.
To ask Questions about developing your device, installing ROMs, software and themes you must go to the Q&A or General Forum.

Cool story bro, but do you have a question?

My, but that is a nuisance, isn't it? I know it's meant to keep newbies from cluttering up the dev forums with inane questions, but some of us do have valuable things to contribute to those forums despite being new to this particular site. Anyway, I have the same problem, but it's probably just a matter of time until I hit that magic limit, as you apparently did a couple posts ago.
Yea, But im no where near a noob. I work for U.S.Cellular and Im not asking ?`s and giving what I know about things and helping people.
You have to post more than 10 replies, then you can reply to "Rom related posts".
let me check which is this post i am posting
same problem here
This is insanely annoying, I am sought of new to the forums but have been installing roms and tweaks to android.for years. I.read those forums and can contribute a lot of stuff but aren't able to post yet. there are not many non-developer forums that have many things worth posting about.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
yep hopefully this works for me
I just find a general discussion, and add my 2c to it.
It adds up,
How about you all stop spamming and write something usefull...

Just write a PM to a mod, they will fix it.
can also bring with it a lot of spam so people hit the magic number......possibly like this post
The general situation is still acceptable since your case is rare.
$1 gets you a reply
I have the same problem ((
I also have the same problem, but I've read what the administrator of this forum said... "please do 10 posts to be able to post in other forums".
btw. this is post #9 for me, one more to go and I'm good to go.
Same here, only subscribed to thank the dev of the rom i'm using, but i can't thank his post untill i reach the number of 10 posts
I will post

this was right
Is 10 posts the magic limit?
I would like to be able to post to try to resolve some of my issues, but I'm also trying to answer questions in the meantime so.... whatever.
Well to add some sense to this:
I have the same problem, but I do have more then 10 posts.. This kinda bugs me since I'm pretty experienced and I have a question, which I can't post now..
EDIT
Allright for some reason now I can post. Ignore this post please, maybe I was a bit to impatient.

I understand new users can be annoying, but this... I mean really? Do the administrators of this site think they are running the only technology-related forum on the internet? Is it impossible to believe someone may already be familiar with common-sense forum etiquette? That maybe someone already has experience and knows how to solve their own problems without spamming and general noobery? And what makes them assume I'm asking a question? After months of lurking I found a ROM I liked enough that I decided to actually register, just to thank the author and report some minor graphical and performance issues. But apparently this website is absolutely certain I'm just a noob trying to ask a stupid question, so I'm forced to generate ten posts of spam before I can actually contribute... as some sort of way to prevent spam? Am I the only one who sees this as being completely pointless and counter-productive?
Oh and yes, this thread is full of (rhetorical)questions! But I'm afraid of what further condescending and presumptuous harassment will ensue from checking the box.
Not at all as proven by this thread. The rules were put into place to prevent spam but also to teach people how to search. (which you didn't do)

Why participate in any thread on xda when Ur a n00b like me?? surely, the normal thing non n00bs do is to just ignore? Every time I participate in any thread on xda I just get ignored because I'm a n00b. I'm sure I'm not the only one on the intranet that feels this way. Not a question just stating my thoughts about this website.

First, this forum isn't a help-desk or a support forum. This website is not here for us to help you, it is here for you to find your own answers and only ask when you cant find or dont understand the answers.
Second, most of the questions you've posted, already have solutions, if it's obvious that you haven't searched for them, most members won't answer because we don't spoonfeed people looking for answers. If you are searching and you are finding answers but don't understand the answers you find, it is still on you to do some researching about what you found in order to understand what it is that you found. Sometimes it takes days/weeks/months to figure out what things are and what they mean, even for members that are NOT noobs. Don't just spend a little time looking for answers and then come here asking questions just because you didn't understand what you found in the first few minutes of reading it. Do some google searches to understand what it is saying.
If you're looking for a place for someone to hold your hand or do the thinking and the work for you, XDA is not that place. We don't mind pointing someone in the right direction, just don't ask questions that have already been asked repeatedly, this shows that you haven't searched and seen where it was already asked, therefore, your question will be ignored. Don't ask simple questions that can be easily answered with a simple Google search, those also get ignored because it shows that you aren't willing to do your own searching.
When you are searching and you find information that you think is relevant to your needs, don't just jump the gun and try it, that is reckless and can lead to causing worse issues. You need to do deeper research about your specific device, your issue and it's potential solutions on order to understand exactly what will or won't work. Get more familiar with "what not to do" instead of "what to do" when you're attempting to modify a device.
