CWM progress

i was just curious if krylon has made any progress with CWM for the SGS4G? the last i read was that is was working on getting it to flash from the SD. i check his twitter a couple of times a day, but i haven't seen much, and i know he has to return the phone in the next couple of days.

I assume that twitter is your best bet for updates.

I just got a reply on Twitter from Krylon. he will try to get the CWM fix by the weekend. our good friend started his new job this week..

Yeah why did you start a new thread on the same subject that was closed by a mod.
You already check his Twitter account and he updates that before he updates here so just keep an eye on his Twitter.

and the "be patient" thread was also not the same as this topic... the "be patient" thread was posted by an individual saying that he had made plans to send his device so that krylon could start to work on it.

Even though this topic isn't Titled the same. It's essentially doing the same thing. Which is to find out the progress or status of CWM. The OP already stated that he checks Krylon's Twitter daily if not more. Krylon said he won't be able to work on it till this weekend since he started a new job and all. Hopefully he'll be able to get the ROM to flash over with it. No promises are made of course and I'm not asking him to rush at all.
I know he'll be getting his G2X very soon but I hope that doesn't hinder the progress of CWM getting fixed.

wow. i didn't want this thread to get carried away like the other one. i just assumed other people on the boards talk to him outside of this forum. i dont have a twitter, but i have been viewing his twitter page to see whats up. i haven't seen much on there for the last couple of days, so i was just seeing if anybody new anything besides what we can find on the forum. i'm not asking for an ETA, I understand that theses devs do this for free / fun. i was just curious to what road blocks he might have been hitting. hell, i don't even have a sgs4g, my brother does. i've just been keeping an eye on the situation so i can crack his phone open for him once it's here, and welcome him to the world of custom rom goodness. i didn't mean any harm with the thread. if it deserves to be closed, then so be it.
anyhow, congrats to krylon for the new job, hope it works out for you. i didn't mean any disrespect / rudeness with this thread.

I know the thought crossed my mind a few times, but he is all we have, I can't keep asking, we are all at his mercy, so grab some popcorn and find something else to occupy your time to take your mind off of this. The more you want it, the longer you feel you are waiting for it.

Discussion about the g2x is the reason why the last topic was closed.
If people want a thread where they can vent out their anxiety for CWM,i suggest not going offtopic into discussions about other phones and the like.

I want to publicaly apologize for throwing the flames. I think we are all a little over anxious and would probably agree that this has been a little interesting to say the least. Krylon is Awesome, but I just wonder where everyone else is at. I have never seen a phone go this long mind you it's only my fourth rootable. But none the less sorry about going off

G2x replacement with Gingerbread

Spoke to a rep about getting my G2x replaced yet again #4 as this thing is getting constant reboots *stuck to stock OS to see if it was true* he explained to me that the latest G2x's are updated with Gingerbread and the displays have been fixed and I did not even mention the display...
Tomorrow it will be here. Lets see if this guy did not pull it out of his ass and was being true.
Will keep this thread updated.

That is not at all what I said. I said they are sending my replacement and it will be here tomorrow and the rep said it would have GB I didnt even request any of the info just wanted my damn replacement.

No. I only made this thread because I told them to call me for my replacement when the G2x problems have been solved.
I got a phone call they mentioned all that ****.
I dont believe them but the fact that they called me back to tell me this 2 weeks later and so i can get my replacement is pretty bad ass.
So we will see what happens when I get the new G2x

This is right, we honestly have no idea when this is coming. I check our internal information DAILY and nothing has been updated. It comes when it does, anyone who gives you a solid date is wrong as of this moment.

Well, if you do receive a G2x with the update, you can post the files for us then.

Going to a concert at an abandoned warehouse in Detroit, it'll be fun, kind of sketchy because in like the worst part of town, but should be fun none the less. But I got the day off of work today so I'm flashing my new nightly and enjoying the freedom.

I'm doing some casino boat ride Friday night with a couple of friends, hopefully everyone behaves themselves. You are lucky to have the day off today. The next time I'm seeing freedom like that is sat. I also need a new rom to flash.

What kind of rom are you looking for? AOSP or Sense? I've definitely been in love with CM7 Nightlies. I used the stable and the RC and they were alright, but the nightlies have been awesome for me.

Just want to say I am enjoying the change of regime. You all are really mod'ing it up, and it is an improvement. Thank you.

That's the thing I don't know what I want. Both aosp and sense have their pros and cons. This is what happens when we have great devs that spoil us with so many great roms. I'm a fat kid in a candy store . Gonna probably give stardroid a whirl later on.

i was on sense up until i started on gingerbeast. i ABSOLUTELY LOVE it. Battery life is great, it's fast, its smooth, its clean. No program incompatibilities or programs crashing. it's really nice. and the only tihng i really missed was a proper dialer with t9 and both dialer one and go contacts/dialer solve that problem. i'd highly recommend it if you want something clean, but the only caveat is that di11igaf, the guy that made the rom, left att recently he has promised us an update, but tehre's no telling when it will come out.
as for me, i'm trying to decide between ARHD 5 and stock rooted. arhd juts has a bunch of stuff and mods so i've found it to be slower than i like, but stock rooted is only froyo :\
anyways, back to off-topic - nothing big going on tihs weekend so i have time to relax with my family

I would suggest rumrunner. It is pretty much a stock gingerbread build tailored for the inspire.
This weekend for me will consist of plenty of job hunting. Damn unemployment.....

The worst part of Detroit? I think that qualifies as the worst place in America. This weekend I'm taking my wife to the Oregon Coast for our anniversary. Since summer finally arrived in the PNW, I figured it's time to get outside. I may even leave my Inspire turned off. Dun dun duuuunnnnn!

Guys, I know we have a lot of new people joining daily but lets take it into consideration that these guys are doing this on their FREE time so lets keep this respectful towards them and quit asking daily whats going on or when the next update will roll out.

I enjoy flashng things just as much as you all do thats why we are here but when they have some new news or any updates I promise they will post it.

Not new, but have seen people be plain rude and even try to demand things in one on here and that's a quick way to run them off. We actually have a pretty good group here. I just wanted to get the attention of some of the new guys.

As one of the 2 devs in here, I just ask that everyone give lfaber06 and I the time we need to get the job done with quality. Constantly asking or demanding things, and requests for updates and why something takes so long to get out....
Even if it is an "emergency" to you, just hang tight and we will all as a community help you out.
And above all Search first for gosh sake, before posting a new thread. I have seen 10 threads about the new update and root for the new update and how to keep root for the new update.... all of these have been posted as far back as 2 months ago now, for the 2.3.6 update.... we have seen it all in here already with cheesecake.

Actually I have a decent build of CM7, but ran into a glitch. Both lfaber06 and I are looking at it right now, it was booting, but now it is acting real weird and it won't boot after a flash, and we can't even get anything from logcat on first boot, and lfaber06 saw some even weirder things after the flash and first boot.
So it is back to the drawing board for the moment... lfaber06 and I are both looking at it right now though. I have a feeling that CM7 will be ready before CM9, but I am guessing it is still a few weeks away right now.

So what's happening to v5 of supercharged rom? Is it at a standstill cause of the update?

Im going to agree with you on this being a good group here. I just came from the infuse and those forums are terrible with people being rude. Ive done my share as well. There may not be much development here yet but i'm glad I got the A2 because of the good support here and the quick responses. You guys have done a good job already getting a lot info out about this phone.

Joelz developing ROM for S3?

I read a couple months back that Joelz was starting to develop ROM's for the S3. I haven't seen anything as of yet and was just wondering. I was a big fan of his when I had my Droid Incredible.

The date on that ROM is this past Monday. Is he uploading to another site other than here? Or is he still working on things for the time being?

I am no where near Joelz' spokesman but from the twitter messages i gather that : 1- no he has not released it yet, and he will not release it till 2 weeks post it being 100 % stable ( i am not sure when will that be )
2- no he is not working on any other sites, but if we keep harassing him , he will He is a part of team venom and teambamf. I periodically check both , but he usually releases on XDA in the same time he release on either one of those sites.

Thanks for the info. I am completely out of the loop with regards to what he is up to now.
I used to test for him back in the day. I got excited about the possibility when I read what I did some time ago but got caught up in life and randomly thought about it today.
If you have any links to stay informed on things it would be appreciated.

For one: didn't mean to thank your post. Two: people like you need banned for your twelve-year old mentality of "lololol he sucks.". Because it has taken him awhile (ever heard of real life issues? Matter more than developing) he should be banned? He did amazing work on the Rez and i will gladly stand behind him. I'll laugh when he drops the first 4.2 ROM

His viperrez was and still is jaw dropping experience on the rezzy
I think he mentioned he is very busy with school and projects , which every educated and reasonable person can understand.
and dont be all upset about the guy knocking him , Joelz and Scott are both devs that dont give a crap about what users think, they drop roms and their dedication is is evident regardless of what people say.
here is my thing with the whole device donations issue, donate to the developer only if u like him , whether he produces or not. Other wise dont donate. When i donated to protek for him to have a rezzy , i didn't care for his production , i just wanted ot thank the dude for what he did on the tbolt and used the opportunity to donate .
WHat I expect from the developer : respect ! is all , dont hate the community for one or few man's action , we will always have babies around tht cry and moan about every thing .
Joelz fit that category very well. he didnt get riled up when ppl accused him of just " stealing " the phone lol , which was donated to him.
Anyway, i think i am going to report my own post and to try to get this thread closed , not sure if we need another Joelz flaming thread.

No we don't. Once he releases his ROM, you should be able to find in the Development section.
