Calibrate the gTablet Display? - G Tablet General

Hey everyone,
I've been doing some reading about our gTablet's and I see it is possible to calibrate the touch display, but I was curious if it is possible to calibrate the display itself? I'm hoping someone has found something on this, because I can say from experience it made a huge difference for my m11x.

[Q] Remount the gtab screen?

Hey I was wondering if there was a way I could remount my gtab screen. The viewing angles r much better when it's upside down, I want to make it my default display. Also r there any Ips screens for the tablet?
Yes and no to the first question.
Yes, you could. But no, because the video cable is not long enough to flip it around. Although, if you were able to extend the cable you could definitely flip it around.
I have not seen or heard of any IPS screens for it, but I haven't investigated that very much.
There is a very long thread on here about LCDs for the G tablet. it's worth a read. No IPS screens yet.
This screen is perfect for me upside down. If everything would work upside down, I'd buy two more of these.
It would be great if someone could figure out how to 'trick' the G tab into thinking that upside down was the right way up!! Is that possible, guys??
You should really familiarize yourself with the search feature.
as goog64 said it has been asked and answered before.

High res screen replacement for zpad accomplished by Bigideas

I am only an ordinary user not a Dev,i am only translating the information, any question should be posted on original threads.
It is a success, however it is a screen replacement of zpad not gtab, sorry for that since i thought the two is the same last time i post this, but they are very similar in hardware,so you maybe still want to see this

and
this in english

thanks for paying attention and i am not the person who did this
but they still do not have good ways to get the screen
on the original thread Bigideas also said that ten point multitouch IC replacement and tweaking is also on the way.

thanks for the information, CLAA101WA01 is 5.2mm in thickness and CLAA101WB03 is of 3.6mm in thickness which is the max thickness to fit in the case

True but not available as of yet. Once it is I will certainly be in line for one of these. If the specs are correct, that just puts the gtab over any other tablet on the market.
Is the file below your first post the re-hash that big idea made? Because I can't make heads or tails of the chinese site.

Well if you bother to go to the site he linked, then you can see that google will translate it for you, but which button do you press to download the file?
The one I thought it would be asks for a user name and password.
Which takes me back to my ORIGINAL question, is the file the OP linked the file needed to change the resolution on the g tab if a new higher resolution screen is installed?
Sorry for not response. Time is different i went to sleep. If you visit the orginal site you will find a link which leads to exactly the same datasheet i gave in attachment here. no rom available since big ideas did not give. As she said she had borrowed the screen from a friend and get it work with a selfcompiled rom. but drop it to the ground and break it later. She asked for another one but only got only the datasheet of the screen
Attachment is a pdf so please extract it and read it. It is not something to change the res in rom.

I downloaded the pdf file of the original thread by big ideas and put it in my attachment.the hash do not meet the hash in the file name.
If you search LP101WH2 TLA2 on alibaba.com, there are many suppliers. Don't know whether its thickness fits though.
quick update now. in the original thread bigideas said she just order 5 of this kind of screens via a friend in HK. SO this thread is closed and we will wait, they may come to xda to tell the result themself.. thanks for paying attention.
i'm just seeing a slight issue here. The G-tablet's 1024x600 screen is a 16:10 display, whereas 1366x768 is 16:9.
Are the pixels on the high-res display non-square, and if so, is there any correction being done somewhere along the line?
EDIT; i checked your specs and nope, they're perfectly square. The g-tablet on the other hand DOES have non-square pixels and a physical aspect ratio close to 16:9.
This panel will be magnificent in the g-tablet

Maybe that can be a issue. but we will wait until bigideas post picture or video of the detail of screen replacement and the final effect and then make the decision wether or not it improves things and then i will follow them to buy the screen. there will be the need to flash into the rom bigideas has finished specially for the screen ,which may solve the problem of ratio, the rom is not posted now . the people on ezpad think the screen can give a better experience with the coming honeycomb which maybe still a little faraway so we pay a lot of attention to the thing. chenglu and bigideas are the legend of ezpad and i am only a ordinary user who loved xda and ezpad and wants to help.
sounds a lot like the new screen of A10. I believe they are the same.

lets hope the screen fits and works with our tablet. If we had a good screen, this thing would be perfect
I'm totally new to the software side but can crack cases...curious if this is a fit?
bliss computers => lg-philips-lp101wh2-tl-a2-laptop-lcd-screen-10-1-wxga-hd-led.aspx (won't let me post links yet)
I emailed the sales department for recomendations ans confirmation on fit for the G tab...of course i'm clueless on what firmware/software mods would be needed. Just ordered mine from amazon so obviously I need to have a plan to gut the poor thing before it shows up

Thickness is the priority when you choose your screen, most laptop screens are 5.2mm and the original screen is 3.6mm, our guys tried something made by lg and plugin with no change of software and it is thicker and only backlight on and nothing show up on the screen at all, when you are going to change the res i guess there are adjustment in something called timesequence or timegraph, you need to change things in driver in the rom,the thing you can see from a datasheet,i do not have experience with those things so my guess may be wrong. i can not tell you whether your screen will work or not, you can have a try if you like. i am also only a ordinary user who are waiting for the result, but i think this is the most promising attempt ever because bigideas seems to be capable of doing such adjustments.this is not yet a fit since no promised result and no detail pictures is released, you do not need to make your decision based on the information above whether you try your own screen or not
so let me see if i get this right?
an order has been placed for 5 screens that should "just work" upon install. correct?
they should have better viewing angles, higher res AND correct thickness?

If I'm reading this right, there has to be a ROM that addresses the screen resolution. It's not plug and play, but in theory it should work.

(Q)colour and screen adjustments?

Well I'm here again, searching the internet for my life's answers.
Hmm seems I do this a lot, anyway my question is.... Is there anyway of increasing the colours on the surface to make it look more pretty, because the screen is so poor compared to nice screens such as my TV or PC monitor.
Cheers,
Dane

No. You can mess with display calibration 1st and last step, but you would be better off leaving it at default settings. Control panel > Display > Calibrate color. If you connect your surface to LCD you can calibrate the tv using something like this http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ without special equipment for basics like brightness and contrast.
Search on google for:
"surface pro calibrated icm"
Anand from anandtech posted up on twitter a link to his calibrated ICM.

App or tweak to counterbalance yellow-tinted screen edge?

I'm unlucky enough to be the owner of one of the OPOs that have a yellow tint on the bottom edge of the display that fades and clears up the closer you get to the middle of the display, like a gradient. Now, there are apps and tweaks to change the hue and calibration of the entire display, but is anyone aware of an app or tweak that can adjust the hue like a gradient? Thinking along the lines of F.lux butas a gradient instead of applying evenly to the entire display.
Can anyone comment on this?
How does nobody know about this or care???
I found a solution, it's literally EXACTLY what I was hoping for.

My only concern now is how much battery it consumes... Guess I'll find out :|

That app works quite well for what it is, and back when I used it, I didn't notice any negative affects on the battery.
It's not that we don't care, but rather, we can't really do anything about it. It's not severe or widespread enough for people to care. In fact, I got banned from OnePlus Forums for caring too much, so there's that.

Contrast Issue

Hello XDA,
Tryin to keep it short & sweet, bare with me please. I’m having this weird contrast dissimilarity across the display of my Galaxy S7. Some regions of the display are having dark contrast level and some being relatively high (making it bit white-ish), especially noticeable in dark colors or any grey shades.
Of course I did research around a bit before posting this and found lot of people having the exact issue and I don’t mean to create a duplicate thread.
Just want a little help from you guys, fellow Galaxy S7 users. I’ve linked to some images below which can easily show this issue if you have. This was used by someone else and was able to easily spot it without displaying a plain mono color image. So those who are even confident about not having this issue at all also can go ahead download & display the images on your display.
Please post the results here preferably pictures. Because I really doubt whether this issue is normal with AMOLED considering this is already my 3rd replacement but it disturbs me a lot seeing this with a 700$ phone.
**I have also linked my condition with an illustration since it’s hard to capture mine in camera.
Thanks a lot <3
