Stock Camcorder CM7 vs Stock HTC Camcorder - HTC Inspire 4G

Is it just me, or is the camcorder in CM7 worse when recording? I feel as if there's more "blur" (ghosting I think it's called?) when playing back compared to a video that's been recorded on an HTC ROM. Since it's impossible to get the HTC camera/camcorder working in CM7, does anyone know of a good substitute for both (or at least the camcorder)?

Agreed, I have problems with my camcorder skipping frames on playback. quite a nuisance. dont have problems playing youtube videos though.
i'm using saga 1.1, but contemplating flashing a new rom and trying that.

They seem to be of different formats, cm7 runs on the mp4 format while the htc runs on the 3gp format, i did had many problems with this since video related apps didnt worked properly (like video chat apps) I hope there will be fixes/improvements coming!

I've found different roms have varied results, don't know if sense causes the issues or if having to many running programs has an effect either

HTC Inspire 4G Bluetooth Audio Skip

Okay so this is a weird issue. When using the stock ROM for my Inpsire 4G (or any variation of sense ROMs) I get this occasional audio skip on my car's bluetooth audio. The phone is connected to both the phone and the media features of my Pioneer AVIC-X930BT the audio sounds absolutely fine then all of a sudden theres a drop in the audio for about half a second and the music has to catch up. Its not really a skip more of a lag. This issue does NOT exist with completely different ROMs such as CM7. In CM7 I have no issues whatsover. What could be causing this and how can I fix it? I absolutely LOVE Sense ROMs and have tried the latest Android Revolution HD (almost fixes it) and RCMixHD 1.5 and all have the same issue. Its not my SD card because as I said it works fine in CM7 however I do not like the look of CM7 and the "sense like" widgets are not to my liking. Thanks so much and I realllly hope there is a fix for it. Perhaps a custom kernel would do it? Or a different radio? Thanks.
P.S. Yes I know it works for some of you with no issue...but sadly I've been having this problem for a while and it's been bothering me a LOT.

The main issue is the BT stack that is used with the roms. CM7 uses a different one if I remember right. So not alot you can do unless you want to rebuild the rom yourself

[Q] CM7 video playback

hi guys,
just tried the newly released cm7 and while the performance was defintely better than the lg software, i believe it still has a long way to go as the camera department is very much still lacking
on another note, while on stock/custom lg firmware, i have always attributed the not-so-fluid playback of captured videos to poor camcorder performance. but i was completely surprised to see that the videos i have captured before (with thiaiz and acura roms) played fluidly on the cm7 release and appeared to be really 30fps.
so does this mean that the released lg firmware has trouble playing back its own captured videos and that its camcorder is actually good and takes 30fps indeed?
ps,
i'm back to thiaiz 2.3 rom now

Netflix - Audio, No Video

OK I've had a few brief searches around I can't really find too much but then I'm not the best at search terms.
I've got a rather Odd problem with Netflix. Now I've started using Netflix religiously over the last month and as we have a new puppy watching it from bed on my phone has been a god send.
The problem I have is it only works on one of my ROMs.
If I use the Netflix App on Virtuous Inquisition I can log in, Select a video and start playing without issue. Great audio and video.
If I use Virtuous Quattro then it plays the audio but no video.
Same for both MIUI's (ICS and Gingerbread)
Tripdroid
and I'm pretty sure it did it for Sense-o-maniac de-sensed aswell.
Does anyone have any ideas whats causing this?
Or how I can fix it? I like swap around the latest ICS roms every now and again and I dont really want to be tied down to Virtuous Inquisition because its the only one that works with netflix
its because it is missing codecs in the stripped roms(non sense) it works fine on all sense roms i have tried (i have 10 roms installed on phone lol)
Well.. I never knew that.
I wonder if there is a way to get those codecs re-installed.
I really want to use Netflix.
Its strange that Virtuous Inquisition works fine but quattro doesn't. Maybe the Beta 4 of Inquisition still contains the codecs even thought they say its de-sensed.

[Q] Choppy video playback with TMobile G2 and Andromadus ROM?

Hi all.
I can't post this to the dev forums yet since I'm a new user, so trying here.
I have a Tmobile G2 running kernel version 2.6.35.14-Flinny-V2-gef05671, currenty on Andromadus version Alpha11.
Since Alpha 9, I'm having serious playback problems with any video I captured with the camera prior to switching to this ROM line. Prior I was running CM7 with no issues recording/playing back videos with either the stock player, or DICE player.
Is anyone else having these problems? It's killing me! Last night I tried the new beta VLC player, and it's a tad better, but still basically unplayable.
Perhaps it was my process of installing the ROM? I used SuperWipe, then installed the ROM.
Anyone else had this issue, or have a suggestion of how to fix it?
Much thanks.
Well it seems to be a common thing across several ICS ROMs right now. I guess hardware acceleration is still a WIP

[Q] help with video recording needed

i did some video recording on my sensation xe and allthough the video quality itself was ok the sound was very badly distorted.
I have read on here that it can be improved by switching the stereo option to 'off' but wondered if there was another way around this.
I believe my sensation is rooted and am sure i have seen something on here about a camera/video mod that has been built into some of the new roms.
i dont really want to try the roms themselfs but would like to use the camera mods etc but thought that it said they were for sense 3.5 and mine is on the standard sense3.0
anyone know how or what i can do about this and how to get the camera/video mod on my phone.
thanks
I had the glitches in video itself...and formatting my SD card solved it.... I am not sure about sound quality..... but you can always try it if you dont get any answers

thanks for the reply but dont think its related to the card.
i really need the zip or whatever for the camera mod like the amaze one that i can install on the standard firmware with sense 3.0
You won't hear any improvement until moving to the Sense 3.5 test leak or the ICS builds for the stereo Mic gain/clipping problem.
If you move to a sense 3.5 rom, try Bulletproof, as that worked well for me. I can confirm that ICS is fine also running the latest Elegancia Rom.
HTC never fixed this issue in the Sense 3.0 builds and no camera mods fix it.
The camera mods all had to do with tweaking the photos and upping the nitrate of video recording.
I do a lot of video recording of my daughter and sound is very important.
Hope this helps.
