I have a Wifi Xoom that had an OTA update to 3.1 then was rooted.
Now, I tried to OTA update to 3.2 while being rooted and now I'm stuck at the exclamation point screen. Is there any fix for this?
Any help or guidance would be appreciated! In the mean time, I'll keep searching...
***Nevermind, got to reboot now everything is fine. Jumped the gun on this one. Carry on people, nothing to see here****
Same thing happen to me and when I rebooted I rebooted back into 3.1.. Did thde update apply for you?

Hi guys,
Just like other people I have also rooted my Note 3 and flagged/tripped the KNOX counter...
The issue first appeared when I was trying to upgrade from Android OS, v4.3 (Jelly Bean) to v4.4.2 (KitKat). The update notification popped, it took roughly 40 minutes to download the firmware and I was then prompted to install. The device then restarted automatically as usual and I received the "Failure to update" window. I have tried couple of times more in case something went wrong with the download but it didn't help. So I had to install the update manually from SamMobile, using Odin and wiping my phone data. Everything went well and I am now enjoying the KitKat version.
Today it seems a new update appeared around 26 MB and I am facing the same issue. After I download the update and hit install, the device will restart and then show the "Failure to update" window.
Is there any way to fix this? Does it mean I can never install the updates automatically?
Please advise and thanks in advance.

Oke, well you can`t install official updates when you are rooted (modified the system)! I suggest you download Mobile Odin Pro from Play and flash the whole new rom from www.sammobile.com and keep root.

Right, so I can just receive the updates but not install them! that's convenient
Do I have to wipe everything again or just install the latest update? Because if I have to wipe everything each time there's an update, I may just cancel the whole update thing until there's something like a major update

You don`t have to wipe as the updates atm are mostly bugfixes. Only wipe cache and dalvik cache after the flash.

Awesome then! From the description of Mobile ODIN Pro though it says "throw those firmware files on your SD...", where can I get those minor updates in order to download them?

Download the whole rom from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/2/ and follow the instructions of mobile odin. You can`t install OTA`s.

Okay I think I got it, so each time there's an update I must download the whole ROM and flash it on top of the current? Since it's the same, it only updates the files that are needed while keeping the rest of the system intact.

I'm rooted with TWRP and I received a notification that the update was downloaded and ready to install. I'm going to update it manually using the LG Mobile Support Tool just to make sure I don't brick my phone.

In my experience, updating via LG Support Tool wipes everything. I am backing up all my data right now. Hopefully towelroot still works on this version.
EDIT: So I just finished the update via LG Support Tool. My data was left intact, but stuff was broke anyways - probably from using system cleaner app and then not having root after the update. So I am doing a factory reset anyway and will start all over. I expected it to be wiped anyway.

I ended up using the LG Mobile Support Tool to install the update. I wasn't able to install the OTA; it booted into TWRP, then when I rebooted the system, it said I was up to date, even though I was still on 10a. I lost root, but was able to re-root with towelroot. Everything was still there when I booted, although I don't have TWRP recovery. Not sure if I want to do that since I read somewhere that I will lose Knock Code. Make sure you back up your data just in case things don't go smoothly.

See if re-rooting with towelroot will fix anything that's broken before you do a complete wipe.

If I use KDZ to flash the update, will I loose TWRP? Or do you think a flashable zip file will be made in the future?
I just updated my NON ROOTED d801 g2 and now my touch screen does not work at all. No errors during installation.
I ran into this problem before when I tried to update the touchscreen firmware through the menus via
3845#801#
My screen would go unresponsive, but after 10 mins and a couple of reboots, it would work back (my guess is that it reverted to the old touch firmware).
This time though, the touchscreen seems to be permanently disabled. Anyone else running into this issue?

Yes you will lose TWRP, if you're concerned about that, hold out for the flashable zip, which I'm sure is coming in the next few days.

Then it's either a problem with update in playstore(which can't be fixed), but I think last version was released in july and I think I was able to update to it, can't check now cause I'm on RR rom. Other problem could be that there is something wrong with your firmware(this would be very weird). What firmware you currently have?

Hi,
I currently have the version KB2005_11_C.11 on my 8T.
Via OTA I am offered the new version KB2005_11.C16_1160_202204222257. But this breaks again and again at 22% with Installationproblems.
The OxygenUpdater also brings me nothing because it constantly offers me the already existing version KB2005_11_C.11.
Where can I download the latest (full) version KB2005_11.C16?
Or other.....kann the evtl. someone times upload ?
Thanks

That's why your update won't work. C16 is an incremental update and expects the stock boot image to be in place.
Next question. Do you have a directory named something like /data/magisk_backup_c64948c228b8c5e1aee9c14fbed837abb5aa50de
The numbers will be different as mine are for C.16

Good. Then you can restore the stock boot image using Magisk>Uninstall Magisk>Restore images before you do the update. Then the update should work.
And to keep root, use this process by @rage302 https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-wip-root-and-keeping-root-options.4387977/post-86830285

Oha, that doesn't sound easy.
Especially since I can't find anything in Magisk to unroot or reset.
I can of course reset the phone completely, but I don't really want to do that.
