i have a problem with my Wifi.
if i wanna activate my wifi it calls "Wifi activating..." and nothing happens on ICS cant network scan to nothing happens

on Gingerbread i get a blackscreen - (cant do anything, just power button and Soundcontrol work. After deactivating keylock i come to the black screen. Icons get shown on top of the bar) -on configuration after clicking the connection Mobile/Wifi option.

but no success -.- cant activate after a short time its off and calls Failure

Reflash latest radio new 3.24 firmware and insercoin 4.5 in that order, if still no wifi and you gave tested on more than one router its hardware

Which country is your SIM card from?
Mine is from Poland (Europe) and it won't work too on my sensation.
i got t-mobile germany before rooting.
my sim-card is german (Aldi-Talk)
i get the wifi problems without any sim-card too cant activate-.-

I have installed some roms and it stopped to work. I remember that earlier I had problem which was my wifi was still turning on and off and again on and off and it won't work but one day it started to work. After few weeks I can't even turn it on . I have tried a lot of ROMs, kernels , WiFix, coming back to 2.3.3 , Revolutionary S-OFF tool but it says that I have correctly done S-OFF . I thought about flashing boot.img but the black window (cmd) after clicking fastboot.exe is instantaneously closing and I cant do anything . Any help ? Maybe its hardware problem ? Fried eMMC chip ? When i try to turn on wifi it says error on gb and on ics its still showing "turning on wifi network" ....
no solution for me-.- i reinstalled the ROM and now it accepts the SIM. but WLAN still no activating
btw to your fastboot.exe.
you need to connect about the cmd with commands, just clicking fastboot.exe is wrong.
Hi everyone! I am posting this here because I need 10 post to post in the right tread...
So my problem is this: I installed the aurora 4.0.3 custom rom that seems to work great but I cant connect to the internet... (wlan works great)
I had before this oxygen custom ROM wich worked good but decided to try android 4. when I installed the newest official update...(i think it was 2.3.5 or something like that, looked newer that 2.3 almost like 4.0)... the internet did not work at that point eather (after the install) The apn settings wont SAVE!!
They just dissapear after I press save when everything is correctly written! well I tought that installing the custom rom would fix it... well it didnt...
I installed everything correctly, recoveries, deleted stuff from recovery etc.
One thing I tought that will changing a new SIM card fix this?
IDK what to do now, please help me!!

EDIT: I tried with my brothers sim card wich has a different operator, dna and the internet worked fine. there was also all the apn settings, dna internet and mms. switched back to mine and still not working. could the SIM card get any damage while installing new firmwares and custom roms? I had mine in the phone under the installs if it matters.
Anyone? and if you thinky I write bad and messy, I am not so great at english but I hope you understand : )
Noone knows on this site how to get my apn settings to work???
btw they worked today for like 5 mins then I rebooted and they where gone again...
Hello ! I recently installed Cool3D Runnymede Sense 3.5 Bravo v.7 on my HTC Desire and after install the ClockWorkMode stucked. I pulled out the battery for the first boot. After this, the ROM worked just fine until I saw some annoying problems like this: network signal is ok but it appears a „No service” message, WhatsApp couldn’t find what model of phone i have (I couldn’t set it) and the most important thing... Mobile Networks settings menu is INCOMPLETE !!! It contains just Roaming settings, no APN, no Network Operators ... none of the rest that are normally there. Anyone knows what is happening here ?! Please help me. I’m not expert in this sort of problems. (I flashed the ROM after full wipe... on previous CM7)

Im using hephappy's tinystream, but u know ive tested many ics roms, including AOKP; but the wifi still isn't working....

I have the same problem. Tried various ROMs from various people (CM [arjen, hehappy], MIUI, AOKP), also various kernels... no results.

Although the problem still exists, but now, at least I know that there are some other persons on the planet who suffer just like me! It also indicates that it is a systematic problem and there may be a solution. We have to keep trying.
I dont have any problems on wifi. I dont use wifi much since I rely on data connection. But phone/ROM scans and displays network without any problems.
Currently Im using AOKP milestone build #6 and its stable apart from some minor bugs.
See if you can use wifi tethering....

I also have exact same problem - NO WIFI on Android 4.x.x. Problem is related to SIM card and Baseband issue. If you flash ROM with no SIM card, wifi works! If you install SIM card wifi no longer works.
First discovered this when I upgraded from Froyo to LG 2.3.3 and the wireless would not work then, and I had to change network selection from Automatic, and select my service provider manually to get WiFi to work. I think the problem with 4.x.x is similar, but it gives an error trying to manually select the service provider, so wifi does not work.
I have 20G baseband (latest I think).
Does anyone else have error when selecting service provider manually?
CyanogenMod-7 nightly builds wifi works perfectly. Just fails with any 4.x.x versions.

One day about a month ago i flashed the new Elegancia rom....
EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT AND EVERYTHING WAS WORKING FINE UNTIL ONE DAY "OUT OF THE BLUE"... wifi stoped working.
Since then i have tried
Various Roms
Various boot.img
Wifix
Deleting the supplicant file
Installing original RUU

Still Nothing after all this and... decided to do it all again ....

I have Sensation XE and so much roms i tried that there's no wifi working...wifix i will try now

In vipers there's a new 'force wifi n' in viper settings. Did you try enabling that one?

Hi, what is the exact problem?
Can you enable the wifi?
Can you see any networks?
Its weird ....
Most of the time (98%) it says "wifi error"..... or "wifi connecting"... but nothing ever happens (No connection , No wifi networks)
Once i woke up in the morning .... i tried to turn on wifi ... and it connected for about 5 min ... and then "wifi error"..... or "wifi connecting".
It's been like this for about a month....
The weirdest thing happened two days ago.... the phone fell down, (thank god i had a jelly case on) ... after a while the wifi was ok .... for about 20 min ... connected to wifi network .. downloaded apps.... went on facebook .... and then it started going (ON OFF ON OFF ON OFF) really fast...
I RESTARTED the phone ... an then (ON OFF ON OFF ON OFF) really fast... AGAIN ...
After 1-2 reboots.... i got the classic "wifi error"..... or "wifi connecting".

Are you sure that the problem isn't coming from your router?
if you have data plan on your phone (gprs or 3g) download getril from playstore,maybe your baseband is not matching well..just try is free...
I don't think its the router.... cause ive tried connecting to various routers .... friends, hotspots etc.... its a phone think for sure.

I haven't played with my Sensation in a while, but I have heard that the HTC phones have a tendency to get the wifi wire "loose." It might be a hardware issue - there are instructions for going in and reconnecting the wire to make the wifi antenna more "secure" - maybe attempt that?

The Baseband and RIL didn;t match .... now they do ... thanks to getril... BUT PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. !!!!

The Sensation has golden pins that connect to the back cover in order to receive signal, be it WiFi or mobile signal. Maybe the pins for WiFi aren't touching the golden parts on the inside of the back cover, causing the same effect to signal strength that taking off the back cover results in.

got a sensation (vodafone) with stock everything. did unlock and s-off and it installed revolutionary hboot. flash latest firmware 3.33 universal and all hell broke loose, no wifi on any rom, kernel or any boot.img i tried flashing. stress i tell you!!!. after days of agony i tried going back to 3.32 firmware universal and it worked. so avoid the 3.33 firmware, KILLS wifi!!!
I am back in 3.32 for about 2 days now because i read about this possibility of wifi error on 3.33 .....
I am running the Viper S 1.5.2 wich as it says works with 3.33 but i have no probs with 3.32 at the moment... EXCEPT THE CLASSIC wifi error...
Maybe i should flash a 3.32 cpmatible ROM ... just to make sure ~!!!???
Which rom do you Use... and which 3.32 ??

Any ICS rom should be compatible with 3.32. Firmware. However, I doubt it's a 3.33 issue. I've been running 3.33 for quite some time now and never had ANY Wi-Fi problems.. but it's worth a try . I hope you get your issue fixed! Check the rom before you install and it should tell you if it requires 3.32 or 3.33. Hope this helps. Best of luck.

I got same issue with WiFi works and then loses connection . Can't download any big files like roms. I'm on 3.33 firmware and running arhd with anthrax kernel . Gonna try 3.32 firm wen I get home . Oh it happens on all roms and kernels . Must hardware related or firmware related . Also notice some black spots where the WiFi and data pins touch might try cleaning those and see if it helps

Go into your WiFi Router Settings and switch the Channel from Automatic to Channel 11.
