4G wasn't an issue for me before but now that I moved to an area with 4G it can actually be useful to me.

The CM6 team is pretty good, I think they are the best bet to actually get it working, if they can't...you guys might have a tough decision to make!
I'm hoping you guys get it because even tho my opinion on that rom isn't very good, a lot of people love it.

wow they confirmed no 4G? sorry to say that's a deal breaker for me, I just flashed RC2 and was playing with it... I live in a 4G city and was hopeful, but if I got nothing to hope for... sorry to say I will be moving on.
Too bad - they did some great work.
Stopped playing with cyan's rom cuz i knew they could not figure out 4g to work with their kernel and build. Guess everyone is human lol.

That confirmation is only for 6.0.. 6.1, on the other hand, is another matter.

Wow. CM6 team is awesome, but this is a dealbreaker. It is like saying here is a Ferrari but it can only go 65 MPH.
If you're not willing to put some money in the pot and hope for the best, why even comment? If no 4G is a *deal breaker* for you then take your month-long member status and find the ROM that works for you. No need to even comment.

Cyanogen mod Roms and kernels are really the best out in the open source arena for Android hands down. They are not rethemed, apt removed blah blah blah roms from phone vendors which makes them very buttery smooth as some say. I've used every Rom on xda for evo and I have 4g in kc with very fast speeds... like 10mbps in some areas but I go back to cyan cause there are never any delays in scrolling, opening apps, switching between apps, you name it... hands down the best.
Anyway, I'm in for $20.

not to start any flames, but it basically says that my opinion on the internet is worthless unless I'm willing to cough up money?
it's the internet... everyone's opinons are equally worthless. This is the tread I found out about no 4G in Cyanogen, so just deal man.
Just for clarification...
Are the donations being made once 4G is available on CM6?
Or are they being given right now in hopes that 4G might possibly some day come to CM6?

There's zero chance for it to be in 6.0 since its being released RSN.
Madcoder has been working on it. Its not that we don't think its important, the issue is that its a massive amount of nontrivial work.

This thread was started to thank the CM6 team for their efforts in the form of monetary support.
Furthermore, we are attempting to show them that 4G is truly important to us, and that we're willing to pay to have it on our devices.

I know he's working on it, and I appreciate that it takes a massive amount of work.
That is the purpose of this thread. We appreciate your efforts, and we are hoping to contribute some money to the cause.
Your time is worth money, and if it takes more time and more people to compile and write the code for 4G on CM6, we want to pay you for it.

That's too bad, I was really looking forward to using CyanogenMOD on the Evo... No matter now anyways, since I'm getting the Epic. Hope it works out guys!

i don't think you'll find what you want right now. most people are still in their 30 day return window and even if they aren't probably won't want to take a big hit on a $400 purchase this soon after buying it. check out the sears outlets, you may find one for $279 if you're lucky.
After PMing to get one G-tablet, i think i will try it own threads ... looking for a used one for $350 (or less) shipped to Montreal/Canada ... do you thing you have one for me?

That is a great deal. I just bought mine @ TD in London, Ontario today for $299 CDN ($294 Usd).
