There are plenty online at sears, kmart, and staples. I'm pretty sure they all offer free shipping as well.

i don't think you'll find what you want right now. most people are still in their 30 day return window and even if they aren't probably won't want to take a big hit on a $400 purchase this soon after buying it. check out the sears outlets, you may find one for $279 if you're lucky.

Sorry, yes, edited original post.
BUMP!!!
...and, Doh!!! I paid £480 for mine about 7 weeks ago. Sigh. I wonder if people have stopped buying them because of some of the possible issues!
just found it on hotdeals! posted by..... you nice
why soo cold tho??? full of knobs!
You got to love and hate hotdeals.
It is without doubt a bargain, if you want one and can afford it, I believe that people on that site just vote cold on anything they dont want or cant afford or dont understand, shame really.

Thanks for that - i've been waiting for play.com to have a 10% discount which would have only bought the price down to £432(approx).
This is a great price - i only hope they don't say its a mistake as it looks like one (its cheaper than the Diamond which is £363.39).
It Should arrive on Thursday - just ordered it now.

I've decided to give a WM phone a go again and ordered myself.
To start with I'll just use it with a data sim, to see what its like, as you can't knock a blackberry for staying in touch with IM etc, but Im just so bored of the crap browser experience and lack of software like Live Mesh, which I use one hell of a lot to keep things synced.
I'll use both for a few weeks and see how it goes.
Looks like they have discovered it - gone back up to £466.89 without postage.
Good thing i bought mine
LOL! I don't feel so sick now ; )
spark9990, when your new pro arrives, please could you take a look at what version ROM it ships with now? (start/settings, system tab, device information - though I'm sure you'll know that already). Congratulations on getting such a great price!!!

Yes and mines on tracking so give them credit for keeping the price for those that bought.
I've used them many times actually and they always have been good.

They've cancelled my order - twats. Can they do that?
Mine as well, mine was at the delivery depot.
Not even a offer of a good will gesture, I'm going to check out if they can do that, especially I can prove it was out for delivery.

Let me know what you find - I'm trying to find out if they can do that as well.
Had they sent emails to you both confirming dispatch? If so then then I guess they had entered into a contract with you... talk to Trading Standards for a firm answer....

I don't have proof of that - but i do have a receipt, and they did take money out of my account.
Then without my permission carried out a refund transaction. I trying to find out how to contact trading standards but in the mean time i am going to try to reason with sellers.
In a retail store, if a product is tagged as a cheaper price by mistake, then the retailer has to give it at that price.
If Handtec had debited your back account/credit card account, then they had entered into a contract with you to supply that item at that price. Speak to both Trading Standards and Handtec about it and make sure you can demonstrate that they had taken your dosh. All you did is select a product on Handtec's website in good faith and, for their part, it would appear that they too entered into that contract to suppply it, so I suggest they honour it!
EDIT: http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk, and they should have an entry in your local phone book. Kent is 0845 7585497 (just in case - good luck!)

Thats not true. Most big stores (such as Tesco) will sell you at the quoted price for the good will. By Law they infact have something like 24 hours to correct the price once notified by a customer, during which time they can sell at a different price than is quoted.
That is really bad!
I thought maybe it had something to do with stock levels, but if it got to the depot, you think they would have realised!
Hope you get a response from them or Trading Standards

Hp Touchpad Info from Best Buy

Hey guys, I work for Best Buy and I thought I would post here just to give anyone who cares a little bit of an update. As of this morning, we were told to pull all the HP product and ship it back. Then, we got an email (not sure if it was just our district or not) that said we could sell them for $99 and $149 respectively! So we did, the 16GBs sold within 2 minutes and the ~20 or so 32GBs we had were gone in less than 15 mins. What kinda sucked was that I wanted one, but you couldn't buy them if you were on the clock When we were notified that we could sell them around 4:45PM, as many employees that could took their lunch and bought them and the employees that were leaving at 5PM bought the last of them.
As of right now, we aren't supposed to get any other stock in and any shipments we would have had are getting sent back to HP. We (Best Buy) has a very good relationship with HP so they don't have a problem taking them back and selling them.
Some stores may not have gotten the notification that they can sell their remaining stock yet, but hopefully they did. You may have a hard time finding one, but good luck! If you guys have any questions on this, I will try to answer as best as I can.

Sorry, I edit my post to include that. Yes, $99 for the 16GB and $149 for the 32GB.
I hope you get one viper, would love to see your rom on it when they port android to it
I tell ya...it's been a pretty convoluted event with this Best Buy B.S. At one moment they say they will ship all TPs back to HP and then the next moment they are selling them off. I actually got one yesterday morning for the full price and waiting for it to go on sale. Then Best Buy reports they won't go on sale. So I return mine for a refund yesterday after the report. The people at the store confirm they won't go on sale too. Then today they go on sale and are already sold out.
That's BB for you.

Well I have the Transformer now bug would love a Touchpad, my dad bought one but he doesn't know if he wants to keep it or not so I will take it off his hands if he doesn't. I tried to but one yesterday but you had to be off the clock which sucked.

Yes it was screwed up. They are sending the rest back but they were under a lot of pressure to sell what they had in stock. Even worse is that if you bought it from BB before the price drop, they won't match it. And our store told us that people could not return them if they bought them at the sale price.

[Q] Buying options between within the country or buying outside the country?

I want to know what would be the pros and cons of me buying between one within the UK or one from China if I were to buy an android TV stick. I compared amazon.com to another site (visopix.com) I don't know either also if the other site is reliable. Any thoughts about them? Because if I order from amazon, it is coming all the way from China while the other is within the UK and both offer free shipping. Is it worth paying a little extra to get the item from within the country already or what?
-Cheers

Agreed.
What's most important is that you're getting what you think you're getting - not where it's coming from.
I used to own a MacBook - it came direct from China when I got it. Even if I'm no longer a Mac fan, I know that Apple is a pretty trustworthy company in that they weren't going to be shipping me a pirated look-alike or a can of beans.
I buy things on eBay directly from China all the time. I make judgments depending on how much I think I trust the seller and from reviews. It coming from China or Hong Kong doesn't mean it's a bad product. If I need it fast, I can usually find a warehouse in my country that is stocking the same thing - which came to that warehouse from the exact same place in China - it usually costs a little more to get the exact same thing because the people operating the in-country warehouse need to recover their costs, too. They're just a middle-man.

Thank you for you input. A friend of mine just recommended the other site to me and he seemed pretty happy about his recent transaction with www.visopix.com I suppose I will think about whether to settle with the middle-man or not. It's just sometimes I do not like how they do the packaging from China and I end up with a damaged box or if I want to return it and the shipping internationally usually cost more.

[Q] Where to Buy the Nexus 5? (USA)

Hello XDA,
I missed the small window of opportunity to purchase the nexus 5 from the play store (16 gb), and now it is almost a month out of stock. I am looking to buy the Nexus 5, but can't find a well-priced retailer. BestBuy andRadioshack (along with my carrier) tack on an extra $100 , which I really don't want to pay. Has anyone successfully purchased the nexus 5 from somewhere other than the Play store for less than $450? If so, is it still available from that location?
Thanks,
ccrama
(I am in the United States)

I personally would try craigslist. That's where I bought mine. The guy sold it for $400 which is like $9 more than it would have been with tax and shipping for google play

I'm going to try to find one on craigslist, but ebay is way overpriced, like 150-200 over play price. I might have luck on craigslist!
Stop posting questions in the General thread. Read the stickies.

essential cutting the price of the ph1 by $200

What's the chance for us early adopter to get a refund? Or are we Sol?
The facebook post says early adopters get a 200 dlls coupon. That could bring the cost of the phone to 300!
They better release the dock before then. =/
Pretty miffed about this.

While it's nice for them to offer this to us early adopters, it really doesn't benfit us unless they release the dock or other accessories by Dec 15th.
Well, my wife is really enjoying her phone... May pick up a white one for 299 with the code...I think that it's a great value at that price...
Oh, great idea, the white one is a nice idea... lol
Still waiting on them to release the gray and green version. Already have the phone so I am waiting for the dock and or smart home hub. It's nice that they at least gave us early adopters a bone. But without new accessories it really is a waste for us. They have dropped the ball before, so hoping they don't do it again. :/ They have allot of potential I just hope they get there. Also hopefully the lower price leads to more developers jumping in on the device and helping to get the developer section in this community going.
Oh, to have one of those codes. Id then go out on a limb and buy one of these great looking phones.
So tempted, but just not enough at $500.
bought off ebay
I literally bought and paid for a phone off ebay saturday night. the seller shipped it and said he would not work on price.
I want to be able to get a coupon but i'm afraid that "someone" will have already claimed it or essential will not honor it.... If anyone is in same situation, please let me know if you were able to get the coupon.
Thanks!

I did not. the seller had the phone until this morning. i asked for the IMEI and he said i would get it when it comes in the mail. so basically can't make the request until i get the imei. i have sneaky suspicion that he may have claimed.... he knew all about the promotion when i sent him a message.
I am just going to get another phone.
I don't think I'm going to bother with the charging pad if they release it in time seeing I keep the phone in a case anyway.
Sent out the info for my credit to Essential, and called Best Buy this morning and got them to price match the new price since I was within my return window (the credit has already shown up on my card).
So I got $200 back from Best Buy and will get $200 credit from Essential. Sweet.
