[Q] (Q) Samsung Galaxy S ROMS - General Questions and Answers

Hello guys.
I'm new to this forum, and to Android phones and rooting and all that stuff.
I might have posted the wrong, if so, i'm sorry, and i hope a MOD will close it or move it.
but to the point, I've bought a Samsung Galaxy S I9000, and i have just now rooted it, and then i wanted to install on of your good looking themes, but i read that have to install a JM5-JM7 ROM... and i was like
so i wonder now how do i install theese ROMS and is there any ROMS there's better than others?
//Newby2 - Peace Out
BTW, this a good looking forum

[HELP] We need support for i9103 "Galaxy R"

Hi all;
I want to talk to you about the GALAXY R or i9103.
Is a version of SII with tegra 2 and slightly lower specs in terms of camera, storage and conectivity.
However this i9103 is much closer to SII than to the S plus, so why should we avoid the possibility of enjoying the root and ROMS?
I just want that people would be a little bit concerned about this great phone, so any help will be appreciated , if anyone knows who would be happy to help us with this just let me know. Im sure CM,Or other talented people can help us.
Thank You.
EDIT: It took more than 2 months to get our galaxy R forum here, so very proud owned of SGR. And thanks to the admins.
+1 Need supp.
Agree. It's a shame that a phone like this canĀ“t be root.
Thanks to those who can help.

Guys, do you know how can i root Galaxy R? i've been searching for days, i found 1 but its only for asian rom. i need your assistance.....thanks in advance!
hello guys
this is my first post on the forum
i wana buy myself my first android device in the form of a samsung galaxy r (coming from good old symbians)
now what i see from this and other forums is that there aint much support from hackers/modders/cookers for this particular model
also samsung hasent announced any plans to bring ics to galaxy r
hence i am leaning towards the galaxy s plus coz even if samsung dosent release the official ics i am sure to get an custom ics rom for it.
should i go for the r or the s plus???
also will i get worse backup times with the r in comparison to s plus as the r has the same battery as the s plus but a larger screen and that too slcd?
Hi
I will try to do my best to help, because I'm having this beautiful device too
and i all ready hacking it around what i want to do is to make a real raw backup of roms and etc, before doing real development on it and i can help in development of kernel and hardware related staff i'm, sorry i new to android rom cooking and etc, but i like hacking and if i will find good manual about it i will be too able to help, the main thing is the kernel which was open sourced by Samsung (2.6.36.2 but device i own has 2.6.36.3) so if we want to improve it i has some experience with Nokia N900 (had it before but now only SGR) i'm also a java dev by occupation and had experience in android application development bun not much and with old android 1.6 but this is not a big problem )

best roms with touchwiz ui for s2 skyrocket?

Hi I am new to all this rom stuff. I am trying to find a good rom for the skyrocket that has the touchwiz ui and features cause I actually like how it looks.please help make out thanks.
Dear OP
We do not allow "best rom" threads on XDA as that there is no real answer. Try some out an figure out what is best for you. Everyone is different and has different need or wants in a rom.

[Q] Best Close to Stock KitKat ROM for Tab2

Hey Guys,
I'm quite a Noobie when it comes to ROMS and I haven't ventured into Custom ROMS in any way before. But, because in the infinite wisdom of Samsung (my one B!TCH) is they don't maintain support for older devices like Apple do, I need to consider updating my Tab 2 to get some decent performance.
There appears to be about 4 - 5 ROMS that are being regularly maintained and I'd like to know which one is as close to stock Samsung ROM and easy to install with no requirement to Root the device. I have installed ROMS via Odin quite a few times, so I am confident in that area.
Ones I know about:
SlimKat
CyanogenMod 11
Mokee
SOKP
Cheers and thanks
Willo
Please some help!
People aren't answering because what you're asking for isn't possible. None of them are like the Samsung ROM and they ALL require a custom recovery and root. You can't install them over Odin. If you do root then try them yourself and see which one works best for you. That's part of the fun of Android!
Not to mention you posted a question in the General forum not the Q&A forum...

Any roms for the Samsumg Galaxy Trend 2 (sm-g313hn)?

Hey guys,
I've been browsing the net and Google but I haven't found an answer for this question: Are there any roms for the Galaxy Trend 2? (sm-g313hn) I've seen CWM in some threads but that's kinda useless without roms I guess. So, are there any? Something like Cyanogenmod will really do the job!
Or will the roms on a other Galaxy Trend model work?
Thanks anyway!
No? Nothing at all?

hello settler11 why don't you try a custom firmware instead of custom roms ?
Got a link? I can't find any.

[Completed] new roms for samsung galaxy s2 HD LTE I757M

For all the developers still willing to make new custom roms such as roms based on android L, can u guys please try your absolute best to make it possible, as the galaxy s2 HD LTE is still my secondary phone and i feel like it should deserve a decent amount of roms support just like the original s2 I9100
Hi!
Xda Assist is here to help navigate the site. As I see, you have already posted in your device section... Which is good! That's a better place to post such things.
Good luck, and thread closed.
