[Q] How can I get the Android Marketplace on my Alldro device ? - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys,
I bought a tablet from the guys over at Allview. The price was decent and the tablet is nice, but the douchy problem is that they did not include the android marketplace. I need it.
The device runs a eclair (android 2.1) update 1. Is there any way to install the marketplace without rooting the device ? and If not, can the device be rooted ? It has no phone capabilities (no sim, no gps, no camera) so I have 0 ideea what tool to use, especially because i really have no ideea what happends when rooting.
The little i got informationwise is that i'd probably need to root it > connect it to pc, use the andorid debugging console to "push" the app into the system folder. Tried to install whatever vendor.apks I could find but since the "host" os was uncertain, it's probably why they could not be installed. Alas, i may be wrong. Can you please help me out ?
if you need more infor google allview or Alldro
Thanks a lot !

Here ya go! just download it to your destop, transfer it to you device via usb, or download it to android device and run it from there!

thanks a huge lot !!! I will try this out. if it cannot install it means I will probably have to root the damn thing

thought as much. it won't install. I'm using ES explorer to install it (my device is not rooted yet, as I mentioned before) and no luck.
EDIT 1: Also tried copy=pasting it into the system/app folder. it says android marketplace blablabla copy failed. Is it possible that I am dealing with a NAND lock ?

could be that system is mounted read only.
Do you have root?

nope, not yet. I;m trying to root it as we speak... so far still going through the steps
EDIT: trying this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858952
so far i got to making the recovery image. for some idiotic reason however, I cannot do adb reboot recovery again ! it tells me error: protocol fault (no status)
my guess is that it doesn't like the recovery folder's name. else i don't get what's wrong ! I am going to rename the folder, and then attempt a second reboot-recovery. see if that works !
EDIT2: did not work. Could it be something else ?

ok i did it ! the problem was I had skipped rooting and forgot to add a few more params after doing the backup... whew ! that was a close call ! ffs !

Hi,
Is there such an app for the phone P2 from Allview?
Thank you in advance,
Poli

You will need to root your device to be able to push the vending apk into the system apps.
1. Root. its essential to do so.
2. Mount system partition r/w > google for adb commands on how to do that and adb in general
3. download the google apps provided above and either unzip and push vending apk to system/apps (not sure about the exact names, you'll have to see for yourself by using Root Explorer) . Restart phone > should work.

Ok I just picked up one of these and it's rather different from other Aos phones i've rooted. you need to have SDK installed with Platform-tools
try to put them on C: if not just be able to navigate to the Dir to acess the adb shell. If you need help just google how to acess adb shell and im sure you can find a vid on youtube to help.
Rooting this phone isnt something hard. I didn't make the zip file All credit goes to Vadim for actually doing that. I took the update.zip file from the root method of the Huawei Ascend II and flashed it onto my Activa using adb.
The obligatory "I am not responsible to what happens with your phone and you flash this image at your own risk etc etc.. You all basically know the drill ;P"
Before starting make sure that you have the Android sdk installed on your computer. (I recommend installing it to the root directory of your hard drive)
Also install the USB Drivers by auto running the program when you plug in your phone via usb.
Make sure your phone has USB Debugging enabled
And now the process:
1.Download the update.zip via download link below.
2.Copy the download to the root of your phones SD Card
3.Hop on over to command prompt and go into the platform-tools directory of the SDK 'cd \whatever.path.to.sdk\Android\platform-tools'
4.Run 'adb devices' and make sure your device is there, it should say M920
5. If its there then reboot with recovery. 'adb reboot recovery'
6. Once booted into recovery then use the volume up and down buttons to scroll up and down and to select press camera button and then press power button. (Not at the same time )
7. Choose update from SD Card.
8. Choose the update.zip from the root of your drive.
9. After its done then reboot your phone and its rooted
anyway google root activa 4g and theres a youtube vid that will help. =it also can be found here "://androidforums.com/activa-4g-all-things-root/576135-guide-how-root-your-activa-4g.html"
This method does work but the binary is still outdated and Su fails when trying to update it.. but it still runs root exploreer just fine so you'll be able to remove whatever you want. As far as Dev work for this I am still trying to find a custom recovery img and hopeing some rom ports may be available soon. I'll post again if i find anything hope this helps..
(^^)\/
Any update on this? I know it has been over 6 months, but it still seems to be the only root thread on the Internet for this phone. Haven't tried it yet, but if I am understanding you right then the functionality of this root will be very limited. (no SU at all?)
I'm just wanting to tether it so my wi-fi only Nexus 7 can have mobile data.

Do you need a custom rom just to tether?
Another interesting note: Called MetroPCS about adding hot spot plan for this phone and they told me its not possible and I have to get a Quatro or something... That can't be right can it? I thought all modern Android devices with wifi can make wifi-direct or whatever tethering uses...

All you need to do is download baidu root from 4shared the one with 2001 at the endorsement it and then press root then your phone should be rooted

Android Maxell Maxtab C8 MID Tablet Google Play Fix

So here's how I did it:
Basically, with an Cortex A8 processor, the Maxell C8 tablet seems to be a slightly upgraded Allwinner A10, which is a bit cheaper than the Maxell tablet but then again Maxell really did package theirs nicely in terms of casing. But it's no secret - when you plug in the Maxell C8 with Windows 7 it shows clearly that it's a MID tablet. So essentially, my theory is that this method should work on all similar tablets such as Allwinner A13,A10 etc (although many of those come with preinstalled google play, as China, like me, doesn't give a **** about copyright). For reference, my tablet is running Android 4.0.4
Step 1. Root your tablet.
This took me a few times to figure out but this program called "Android Root Unlock" finally did it for me. You can get it from Source Forge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidroot/
Enable USB debugging (settings > developer options > Usb debugging). Then just connect your tablet to your PC via USB, wait until Windows recognizes the device. It should read "MID" in the device manager screen. The unpack the zip file you downloaded above on your Windows machine and run "ICS_Root_Unlocker.bat" it while the tablet is still plugged into USB. A black terminal window will open, just follow the instructions from there. Your tablet will restart - that means it probably worked, don't close the program yet but follow what it says to the end until the terminal window closes. Now you can unplug your device.
Step 2. Install modded Google Play
Now you can go ahead and follow the instructions on xda-developers.com:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1650116
That's it! Google play now works like a charm and I can download stuff directly from Google Play without problems
Here's my full blog post: http://truthtech0.blogspot.com/2013/03/android-maxell-maxtab-c8-tablet-market.html
Thanks for your efforts, I'll give it a try. I was going to try Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry, but as you've confirmed it works, I'll use Android Root Unlock.
I think it's running Jelly Bean, it's my dads tablet. I'll see him tomorrow.

Anyone managed to install either a recovery image or a custom rom on the maxtab?
I've rooted mine but cannot get fastboot to work and unable to load a recovery image. Adb is working OK. Tried clockworkmod but device is unsupported.

Hi, thank you for your guide.
Unfortunately i'm unable to complete it because when i connect the maxtab c8 to a windows 7 system it doesn't find the MID driver so the root bat doesn't find the device.
Do you have any hint in how to complete the procedure?
Thank you.

Thanks for the hint; I was able to execute the bat file but i still have some problems.
The procedure looks like complete but if I open Root Explorer and try to do some changes in \system\app it just tell me that it's in read only mode.
Tried root check pro and it's all red...
superuser installed
sbin/su: permission denied
system/bin/su: no file
system/xbin/su: Setuid attribute present and root user ownership present. Root access is correctly configured for this file! Executing this file can grant root access!
system/xbin/sudo : no exsist
su binary not found or not operating correctly
Tried to run the su file in system/xbin/su as a script on the tablet and via adb without any changes. Checked a bit online but i'm a bit stucked since my other android device (lg p500) was much easier to root.
If you have any idea i't will be very helpful. Thank you.
Ok solved.
To easy root the maxtab c8 (android 4.1) i used the RK29 tab tolkit v1.3: easy and fast.
Now i have problem installing the play store...
I followed the guide but since i don't have any Vending.apk or phonesky.apk in system/app i just copied it without a backup, rebooted but nothing happened.
Need more testing.
Ok play store installed and working.
I didn't use the apk linked in the first post, i had to use this one instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934441
The method is the same (copy in system/app, set the permission as rw-r--r-- and then reboot) just use the apk i linked.
Hope this help someone.:victory:

XDA offer a guide to rooting all devices, you can find it here
Any news? thanks for everything
Hi man, i managed to root my Iconia One 7 (B1-750).
I downloaded and used the tool on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096 i used the T3 Option.
Be carefull when removing the Acer files as i had problems when my device would reboot when it woke from sleep so i suggest to make a backup of them with Titanium befor you remove them.
If you do remove them like me on acident without making a backup look for the stock B1-810 rom which is on xda somewhere and pull the apks from there to your device the files are in the system/app and system/priv-app folders.
Guys, please i need your help, i just tried to use xposed installer but after installing the required files in /system and rebooting my tablets softbricked. Tried to make a factory reset but it stucked at formatting data. I still can access cwm through the software used in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...p-cwm-t2975096
Anyone has an idea how i can fix it :/

Sounds good that you guys have been able to root it.
What ROM have you installed afterwards?
My son has this tablet and mainly I am bugged by the fact that apps can not be installed on SD card.
Need help with flash browser, would rooting help?
I have a new Acer Iconia B1-750 and I am trying to use the paid version of Puffin Browser to access a Learning Management System to play elearning modules developed in flash. I have the free version which installed without any problem but when I try to buy the paid version to have a flash browser i get "Unexpected error, please try again later". Has anyone come across this issue or is there a way around it - it doesn't have to be Puffin but I know these modules work with this browser. I have tried dophin and UC browser but they keep giving me a Flash failed to Load error. Would rooting my tablet help me get around this?

Currently there is no custom rom you can flash and i think there would never be
It's an Intel tablet, the bootloader is locked and unknown so wow
Personally i advice you to not try anything unless someone else did it and it worked ! I remember myself when i tried xposed installer and it didn't work, my tablet was stuck and i really though it was over [Imagine , my savings gone ! ] i will never do it again, it's not like those chienese tablets that when you mess up with them, you just connect it to your pc and flash a rom with sp flashtool.
Hello.
I have a problem with the tablet Acer Iconia one 7 b1-750.

It's a bit tricky. The device drivers do not include this specific device. I have the exact change you need at home, but here's what you need to do.
Extract the Acer driver files to your HDD.
Browse to the inf folder.
Open the file intc_adb.inf.
Look for the arch your desktop is running, either [Generic.NTx86] for x86 or [Generic.NTamd64] for 64 bit.
Under the section header from the previous step, look for the CPU model. In this case it's "; Intel Baytrail Android".
Open your device manager, find the ADB device in the tree. Right click it and go to the Details tab.
Change the Property drop list to "Hardware IDs". Take note of the values in the list.
Go back to your .inf file you are editing. Find the line that says "%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0502&PID_3705&MI_01 ; ADB + MTP"
Update the line with the harware ID's you noted previously.
Save the file.
Now update the driver the usual way and the ADB driver should work fine.
After doing all that I still was not able to get the device rooted (using the T3 option). It stops at the DROIDBOOT screen. If you get past it, post back with how you did it please.
Hi Domito,
Thanks for the answer.

Has anybody also experienced this ?

Hello, I was stucked at the same screen. But there is one solution. When you see this log you will have to open device manager. There will be "android device" or something like that. Then you will have to enter driver update, choose android devices and then acer composite adb driver. After that the CWM will show up at tablet. Sorry for my english.

I don't know why, but that happens when you remove the korean keyboard. You must reflash the original ROM and then proceed to remove all the bloatware except the korean keyboard.

[UPDATE] Hiliti PD-C Laser measuring device

Hello Guys,
I have a Hilti Laser PD-C device that runs:
android: 4.1.2
build: sparky_silver_2.3.15
I want to note that all apps should be arm not x86 but Im not sure of the DPI.
This runs a special modified Hilti rom. I would love to be able to get a custom rom and add more apps. I am willing to toss some donations for this. Has anyone done anything with this device before?
**** Update: ****
I was able to get root access via PC version "KING_ROOT"
http://king.myapp.com/myapp/Kingroot/kingroot_pc/KingRoot_pc_en.exe
1. I downloaded the most current sdk for ADB
2. I also downloaded the Hilti update app.
www.hilti.com/updatepdc
3. I was able to use King_Root even while the app didnt see the device and it recognized the device after I clicked connect.
4. The main ROM is very difficult to get around. You cant just click an app you side-loaded. Download a launcher that matches the android version. I used smart launcher, no reason, just the first I found. Use ADB to sideload on to the device.
(adb install "app name") https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/smart...1-build-054-android-apk-download/#description
5. From here I got full control to the apps I sideloaded. I am still having issues with connecting to BT on my note9 for the internet.
It is what it is... But thanks for the help. I hope anyone else looking finds this.

[Solved] Control App (jp.pioneer.avsoft.android.controlapp)

Hi,
I'm still using CD Receiver XC-HM82. There is a dedicated, quite old, application Control App which Pioneer released some time ago. After installing the app, when a CD receiver is discovered the app unfortunately downloads some data needed for managing this particular model.
Recently I reinstalled android system and when I try downloading those data it says "download failed". The reason might be that there are some issues on Pioneer server side or they've simply stopped supporting this device.
I have still one phone where this application is fully installed and working fine. I think that the data (downloaded from Pioneer servers to manage XC-HM82) are being store at: /data/user/0. However, I haven't rooted this phone.
The question. How can I retrieve data from /data/user/0 and what's maybe even more important can I create APK which will include all data needed for managing XC-HM-82 so I could still use this application to manage my CD receiver?
Thanks for any tips
I'll answer to my own post for users who might use it.
1.Turn on Developers option in your phone
2. If you use Lineage OS allow Debugging as Root or Root via ADB
3. Check all aps you have installed
adb shell pm list packages -f -3
4. To backup base apk (in my case)
adb pull /data/app/jp.pioneer.avsoft.android.controlapp-PIpLM2ikeE7WRs7X2TlOFg==/base.apk pioneer.apk
5. To backup data of the application (including packet for controlling particular model)
adb backup -f pioneer.adb -apk jp.pioneer.avsoft.android.controlapp
Please note: you'll have to accept this action in Android
6. You should received two files: pioneer.apk and pioneer.adb
7. To restore base apk (in my case)
adb install pioneer.apk
8. To restore data of your app (in my case)
adb restore pioneer.adb
Please note: you'll have to accept this action in Android
Eventually, you should have a feel backup of you app with data folder.

First of all, I learned that I could stop checking my home network/router/settings etc.. to find the cause of the failing download.
I have the bluray player Pioneer MCS-FS232, with the controlapp working on my tablet.
I want to transfer the app to my phone.
I followed your steps:
Pulled the apk and backed up the data
I re-installed the app with adb install, and I restored the data with the commands above. Device report success after restoring data.
Unfortunately the app persists in asking for a download (also after restarting device). I tried also on another device, same result.
Could it be that the data restore command do need more specifications?
Thanks in advance for your reply...
Ptr
PS: the full command for step 4 would be (in my case)
adb pull /data/app/jp.pioneer.avsoft.android.controlapp-HjWUmVnui7FpTk0qKpQ3Ow==/base.apk pioneer.apk
you might want to add
adb pull
to your text in step 4
Thanks PtKt for your post and correction regarding "adb pull" missing.
There's no problem with base apk:
Pioneer ControlApp for Android - APK Download
Download Pioneer ControlApp apk 4.1.0 for Android. ControlApp is an application for corresponding Pioneer Products control.
apkpure.com
The thing is the data files (downloaded from Pioneer servers when it was still possible). What's the version of system: on a tablet and phone?
Recently, I realized that this method works on Android 9-11 but not on Android 7 cause there's a different folder structure. It recognized CD receiver but crashes when trying to connect to it.
Hello Gregory,
1. first tried it on my phone (where I had the app, but deleted it ( ). Android 11. This is the taarget-device. Not rooted. APK file installed with adb succesfully
2. when this did not work I tried on a tablet (rooted Asus transformer tf701t with timduru android 7). installed APK, date reports succes, but no working app.
3. device where the app works is Huawei tablet with android 10 (not rooted)
4. My computer is an old IMAC with Ununtu 20.4 lts
I tried to open the pioneer adb file, only partly accessible and only 5 lines.
I checked Androi/data/jp.pioneer.avsoft (etc), on my android 7 tablet, there is a map ' files' but without files.
tbc, Ptr
I'm not so advanced in this matter, but up to Android Version it's about folder /data/data/jp.pioneer... (and so on). You can't access it without root. Maybe you can do that via TWRP on Android 7 on later version it's an issue in easy way. Other solution is to use Magisk to manually copy needed files.
I'm not sure if referring to the system version different files were downloaded from Pioneer's serves. Unfortunately, I don't know.

Aiai.... after a few days of efforts my conclusion was that you need root access to your source device.
And then I re-read your solution and I saw that I overlooked the last part of point 2 of your solution....
"2. If you use Lineage OS allow Debugging or Root via ADB." I did allow USB debugging but I missed 'as Root or Root via ADB'
OK, it is a pity, I'm not going to root my Android 10 tablet where the working app lives. Meanwhile I learned a lot and that's always fun....
Thank you very much for your work, if I come across another solution I will report here.
Ptr
Great. You're very welcome.
Hi guys. I have problem with this Control App from Pioneer too.
On my Android 11 phone is after starting the app visible only the loading screen or a black screen and nothing happend more.

Hiya,
You won't download needed files (graphics or some scripts customized particularly for your XC- HM72) because there are no files on Pioneer's servers, anymore. If you don't have any device with fully working app you have to ask anyone who has it still working to export needed files (usually as "adb" file) for you then you just import it by a command:
adb restore exported_file_name.adb

and that's all.
Nevertheless, since Android 8 I think that the folder with user data files has a different location, so mentioned method should work for Android 8 - 11 (I haven't tested it on 12). That's all what I can suggest you.
gregory_cooky could you please share you date with adb file?Thank you

There you go. Please unzip it and good luck!
Thank you for the file, but still without success. I tried adb restore pioneer.adb and on my android 5 tablet and still want to download files from innactive servers. The same I have done on my phone with android 12 and there is still the freeze or black screen :-( What now? Thanks

I'm not much surprised about Android 5 cause it mightn't work. Unfortunately, I don't have any other news for you. I'm not even sure if my files were suitable for the model of yours. Further steps you should do by yourself. Maybe you'll find a solution and provide it for someone else who has the same CD Receiver as yours.
I've spend a lot of time trying to run the app for my old, but still well performing XC-HM71.
Luckily I've found old Titanium Backup (playstore) backups from 2015 and 2017. I successfully restored the app and settings on my forgotten redmi note 3 pro as root and old android were needed. If anyone is interested and want to try again, both backups are attached. Older app version is 3.5.0, never is 4.1.0. I'll recommend to start with older version, then restore just the newer app without data. It worked for me. Good luck.
But I've remembered the app a bit differently. Seems to be a bit useless, same can be done with remote itself.
Its just a bit faster to add internet radio stations, as browsing on unit itself is a bit pain in the backside.
XC-HM71 is a base version, no Bluetooth, Spotify or other currently standard addons, so really the Pioneer app do not have any real advantages.
Btw, I've had no luck with adb files from @gregory_cooky.
How to control my vsx 527 with control app? Can someone please help
Hi
I need files for Pioneer XC-HM81.
Can someone please help.
Good news!
I finally managed to transfer the needed Pioneer ControlApp data from my -non rooted- tablet (Huawei M5, android 10) to my -also non rooted- telephone (Samsung Galaxy A40, Android 11), based on gregory_cooky’s procedure in post 2 of this thread.
I tried it half a year ago (see above, my post 3) and gave up.
But a renewed attempt this week, learned me that I overlooked a crucial element: both devices need to have “USB debugging enabled” to operate the adb commands from my computer successfully.
Obviously, I misinterpreted step 2 in gregory_cooky’s procedure.
After enabling ‘developers option’ on both devices, you need to go to enable USB debuging . Without that, your devices are only partly accessible from your computer and adb commands will give error messages.
In detail: go to settings, scroll down towards about tablet or info telephone, look for software and then ‘buildnumber . Tap 7 times on buildnumber. this activates developers option. Go back to settings, you can now find developers option as the last point under settings. Tap developers option, enable it, look then for USB debugging and enable it. Do this on both devices.
Connect your source device (=device with a working ControlApp) to your computer. Open a terminal screen on your computer and type adb devices.
[email protected]:~$ adb devices
List of devices attached
P15YC3E10080000000007FC1881C0 device
Then proceed as described by gregory_cooky in post 2.
Be sure to have your source files (ControlApp apk and data) in the root of your home directory, otherwise adb cannot find it. Be aware this type of commands is capital sensitive, so if you ask for Pioneer.adb but the name of the file is pioneer.adb the computer comes with No such file or directory.
I use the ControlApp for my Pioneer MCS-FS232, which I can now easily operate from my arm chair. Volume, switch from CD to Aux or FM, etc.
Peter
It appears ControlApp has finally given up.
Looking if anyone has perhaps a copy of the source files.
ControlApp downloads the files from the following URL: http://www.pioneer.eu/files/support/Wr5Ch9makajA/smartphone_app/common/controlapp/sma/SmaHtml_14.zip
Note that this is a HTTP URL, so can easily be faked for the device, however need the ZIP. Used to have it, now it's gone
hello,
would anyone have a working adb for Pioneer X-HM72 please?
