I have looked at some threads, and looked up some internet details.
Ok, i have the audible touchtones disabled. I(my wife) keeps getting the robo voice, and her calls are cutting out only on her end, not on the others.
it is unrooted, still factory
US TMO
blur version 3.6.360
kernel 2.6.29
firmware 2.1 update1
baseband 03.04.02
these problems just started to happen. anyone have any ideas,
should i consider using a custom build.
Im not too familar with motorola phones.
Im currently using TMO HD2 with a NAND Android build.
Calls cutting out = maybe earpiece issue.

I have recently rooted my Infuse and installed the most recent CM7 Gingerbread ROM. It was smooth sailing and I have been successfully using for about 1 week. I am now encountering popping and crackling noises only on my Bluetooth headset during phone calls making it unusable. This post had some similar comments - (since I cannot post links Google "Static/popping/clicking sound. - Page 2" I have searched this forum and others without finding a solution. I have tried both a Motorola and Plantronics (Voyager Pro +) with the identical problem. I do not beleive it is the BT headset. Has anyone else experience this. Any suggestions for how to troubleshoot? I tried to revert back to the original Froyo Nandroid backup but I get a "Error while flashing boot image!" error so I cannot test to see if the problem exists with Froyo as well and is just an issue with the phone itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This phone rocks!!
iirc cm7 on the infuse has issues with BT, can't help you further though..
maybe you can try the normal return to stock methods?

And there is your problem.
thank you both for the response. I have returned to stock and will try when I get home tonight to see of the issue is resolved. LinuxBozo, am I to extrapolate from your comment that the version is too bleeding edge for a production phone I should try a different version and or ROM? If I so which would you suggest? I would prefer to be using gingerbread over froyo and I really like the feature in CM7. Matter of fact if was awesome aside from the Bluetooth crackling and issue with not being able to remember previously paired BT devices upon reboot.
Thank you
If you want 100%, everything working as advertised on the box, CM7 is not for you. BT is flaky, and very basic right now, with audio (headsets, a2dp) being the most broken. As for something stable, and Gingerbread, you really cant' go wrong with the latest UCKJ4 leak, as it's basically an early look at what stock gingerbread will be. Otherwise, if you want something not so stock, I would say, look at Serendipity7, Sensation or Dlev.
Great feedback. Thank you!!!
Stock rom doesnt have any issues so it was a CM7 issue.

Hello, everyone!
I have a Nexus S from Rogers, Canada.
The Build number is GRK39F
Baseband: I9020AUCKF1
I'm running 2.3.6 and I'd like to know if anyone here has updated to ICS successfully with this phone. I want to force the update but I'm in doubt if it is currently working well.
Anyone?
No official OTA for the I9020A yet, but you could always flash a custom ROM from the development section if you are rooted.
Still waiting for the official OTA for my Nexus as well, but I think I am going to try CM9.
I9020A ICS Update
My experience with the AT&T/US version is that I was on 2.3.5 and would not get any other OTA updates.
I did manually update to 2.3.6 and did not experience issues with it.
I then unlocked the bootloader and rooted. No change to experience.
I then flashed the official full 4.0.3 ROM for the I9020T (at my own risk!) and then flashed a compatible radio and did not have any serious functionality issues, but did experience quite a performance lag.
Based on this experience, my take is that there is much to be done for the official I9020A ICS ROM with acceptable performance, and if you are going to wait for official, you are probably going to be waiting for a while.
I have been very pleased with the performance of a custom ROM dedicated to the stock ICS experience along with the recommended custom kernel. Blazing fast compared to my short experience with the official. I have done this all at some risk, but the XDA community is pretty awesome and with a lot of reading of feedback put me at ease and made it very easy to experiment.
I feel your pain
Same situation as you, forcing the checkin doesn't work because there simply isn't an OTA yet for the 9020a
hope it get's here soon!
Cheers,
JM
Worked for me
I have a Nexus S from Fido and I'm using ICS.
I flashed this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20456900&postcount=1
I didn't have to flash a different radio or anything. It all seems to work great. Should be the same for Rogers network.
Hope that helps.
ICS on Rogers 9020A
I did the same as ProfBurz yesterday. So far so good. no issues with battery life of reboots. Having some fun with my work exchange account right now but I'm not sure that has anything to do with this ROM.
My exchange account works
My work email is functioning fine. It didn't work the first few times I tried though. No idea why, I rebooted the phone and it worked.
One thing I notice is my contacts with pictures show up pixelated when someone calls. Wrong image size or something? They look fine in text messaging, just show up enlarged when calling.
I have a i9020a on AT&T and here is my ICS info:
Verision: 4.0.3
Baseband Version: I9020xxKB3
Kernel Version (stock): 3.0.8-gb55e9ac; [email protected]#1
I am also running Nova Launcher (beta 13).
My experience with this has been very good overal. I had some initial problems with data speeds with an earlier radio (can't remember which one), but with the new one (XXKB3) I'm getting about 2mbps down and 1mbps up which is good for the area I am in. I was watching last night at work and I got about 10 hours on a battery and I was only at about 46% then with moderate use (internet job searching some pandora streaming ect).
And just for clarification, this is the 4.0.3 ROM for the I9020T, as mentioned by the_real_nwags.
The few complaints I have are minimal and forgettable, but the app drawer takes a few seconds to open (slight lag), but once your in the drawer everything is silky smooth. The other issue I have is Google Wallet doesn't seem to work. Now whether that is my fault or not I can't be sure . The only other issue I have is while streaming Pandora, sometimes it will get stuck "Loading" the next song, but that usually happens right before a comercial, it normally goes right to the next track without a pause.
There is a slight lag to the system, but nothing horrible... I have used worse. So if your interested in trying ICS, this is a good start. I am thinking about trying a new kernal for increased cpu speeds, but I don't know about that yet.
I have a nexus s i9020A on rogers and as long as you flash a rom with no radio, like CM9 or cyberGR. I also have the AUCKF1 radio and 4.0.3 and all is well make sure to download the auckf1 radio just in case your radio goes wrong somehow. Good luck!

Hello!
I've searched for something similar to my problem, but haven't found it, so here it goes:
I've been playing around with a few ROMs these weeks, especially MIUI ports, and I am really liking the ROM as a whole.
The only major PROBLEM that I have is that during a voice call the person on the other end of the conversation can barely hear me. They say the sound is clear, but the volume is very, very low. If I use a headset it's even harder for them to hear me and I have to keep the microphone really close to my mouth (I've tried several headsets - not any bluetooth ones, though).
Here's some info that might be helpful about my phone:
LG-P999 (even though I guess it's obvious, since I'm posting here)
ROM port:
G2x-SINGH-UI
Baseband:
M6600A-SCAUTNZ-2.0.9720T 1 (JUL 15 2011 10:00:00)
MP:TRULGE_08.09.02R_MDM
Kernel:
2.6.32.49-cyanogenmod
Build:
MIUI-2.1.13
This behavior was the same for two other MIUI roms that I've successfully run on my phone (G2x-SINGH-UI v1.12.30 and MIUI_P999_2.1.6_ELP). Stock ROM and CM7 had no problems (although CM7 always started a call with the call volume at max, but that was on my side of the conversation - currently I'd like to fix the problem so that others can hear me).
Sorry if I'm too wordy, I just wanted to explain everything clearly.
Thanks!
Roms based on cm7 have this issue miui and anything that is 2.3.7. Some people claim they have no issues but many more claim they do have the issue. Nothing you can do except switch back to an old version miui like mid October or something.

Rom: CM7.2. kernel: faux123-050 - baseband mar12.
My sms delivery reports gets stuck in pending on all data options. However, the reports send when using wifi calling... . Is there a quick fix to this like changing the apn setting or changing kernels?
Edited for brain fart

I've never come across this before. I know that for me, WiFi Calling is the death knell for texting (SMS or otherwise). It's got me bothered because my phone is only functional due to WiFi Calling for where I live. If I come across anything I'll pass it along, but possibly doing a logcat when you're not able to have them reports send might help resolve the issue.

Thanks. I'll do a logcat. It's not that big of a deal, I'm just being anal and thought there might be a quick fix for such a small problem.
My WiFi calling works flawlessly ... did you try a bunch of different roms and kernels?

I've been running Modified ROM's on my phone ever since I got it back in Aug. of 2011. Stock just sucked (was the 2.3.3 GB Stock). I've tried just about them all. Hell's GB and ICS ROMs, Euroskank's GB and ICS ROMs, TonyP's ICS/JB ROMs, etc, etc, etc. I'm surprised my onboard flash chip is still working with all the flashing I've done over the 14+ months. Currently using Temasek's GB Build 135.1 Final. The phone for the most part works, and works well. I've tried all the kernels too ranging from Faux's, to Morfic's, to Harsh's. Morfic's ELP Kernel has been the most solid for me.
I don't use ICS ROMs because their WiFi Calling is borked beyond all recognition. I just hope and pray that IF we get an official release of ICS for our phone, it fixes the WiFi woes I've had with ICS ROMs. I'm too dependent on WiFi for my cell network connection. If only T-Mobile had a Microcell for their network. They have that repeater cell tech, but it requires a 3g/4g connection, and my house doesn't even get a 2g connection outside (although their map "claims" I am to have 2g service). It's just frustrating.
I saw an article about AT&T's Microcell back in 2010, and was hopeful the technology would catch on, but it flopped.
Hi all.
My mother owns a LG P999 phone, and after about an year with stock 2.3.3 (if I remember correctly) I upgraded her phone to CM7 latest build.
I've had some bugs that I overcame (APN settings bugs and some more) but she doesn't like it, and I understand why:
* Bluetooth headset doesn't work right with it - sound is super crappy, was working on stock.
* Signal loses
* Ended calls take more than 5 seconds to disconnect
and so on...
My question to you is: what is the currently most stable and recommended ROM to install on the G2x?
If stock is the least bad option, that's an answer too.
Thanks for any help
Upgrading the baseband to the march 2012, from what I have heard, makes the phone run a lot smoother. Blutetooth calling will not work however. CM7, in my opinion, IS the most stable ROM for this phone. I hate stock so I will never say that lol.
