[Q] Is there a quick fix for sms delivery report stuck in status pending? - T-Mobile LG G2x

Rom: CM7.2. kernel: faux123-050 - baseband mar12.
My sms delivery reports gets stuck in pending on all data options. However, the reports send when using wifi calling... . Is there a quick fix to this like changing the apn setting or changing kernels?

Edited for brain fart

I've did a bunch of searching with no definitive answer... I'm running cm7.2 kernel faux123-050 - baseband mar12. My sms delivery reports gets stuck in pending unless it's on wifi calling, then it works(sms sends successfully). Is there a quick fix to this like changing the apn setting or changing kernels?

I've never come across this before. I know that for me, WiFi Calling is the death knell for texting (SMS or otherwise). It's got me bothered because my phone is only functional due to WiFi Calling for where I live. If I come across anything I'll pass it along, but possibly doing a logcat when you're not able to have them reports send might help resolve the issue.

Thanks. I'll do a logcat. It's not that big of a deal, I'm just being anal and thought there might be a quick fix for such a small problem.
My WiFi calling works flawlessly ... did you try a bunch of different roms and kernels?

I've been running Modified ROM's on my phone ever since I got it back in Aug. of 2011. Stock just sucked (was the 2.3.3 GB Stock). I've tried just about them all. Hell's GB and ICS ROMs, Euroskank's GB and ICS ROMs, TonyP's ICS/JB ROMs, etc, etc, etc. I'm surprised my onboard flash chip is still working with all the flashing I've done over the 14+ months. Currently using Temasek's GB Build 135.1 Final. The phone for the most part works, and works well. I've tried all the kernels too ranging from Faux's, to Morfic's, to Harsh's. Morfic's ELP Kernel has been the most solid for me.
I don't use ICS ROMs because their WiFi Calling is borked beyond all recognition. I just hope and pray that IF we get an official release of ICS for our phone, it fixes the WiFi woes I've had with ICS ROMs. I'm too dependent on WiFi for my cell network connection. If only T-Mobile had a Microcell for their network. They have that repeater cell tech, but it requires a 3g/4g connection, and my house doesn't even get a 2g connection outside (although their map "claims" I am to have 2g service). It's just frustrating.
I saw an article about AT&T's Microcell back in 2010, and was hopeful the technology would catch on, but it flopped.

Wi-fi Calling And CM7 Based ROMs

What's the deal with wi-fi calling working sporadically with CM7 based ROMS? Or...am I the only one experiencing this? Maybe 1/5th of the time I'm connected to wifi will it work. It's not my router or lan (I know what I'm doing in that realm) +my wife's G2X was working the whole time she had the unmolested phone from T-Mobile. Even after I flashed hers with a 2.3.3 (two days ago) it's worked as it should.
Bump d bump.
I'm not using CM7, but it's happening to me, too. From what I've read over the last few days, this is more of a hardware issue than a ROM issue. For me my 4G often stays on while the wifi is enabled. My wife has a G2x running the same kernel and ROM as mine, and hers has no problems. It's really annoying.
You're not using a CM7 derivitive and you're having issues? Odd. I've only experienced it on CM7 based ROMs. Every 2.3.3/ota/stock based ROM connects with nary a problem.

Have you tried using one of the kangs ..there's fitsnuglys and rustys ... I pretty much use fits' kangs, he uses only certain commits in his kangs and from what I understand rustys contain all off the commits up to date... I've never really had a problem with wifi calling and I use it a lot at work...
I haven't. This is my 1st smartphone. 1st time rooting/custom rom'ing and the "kang" sounded too scarey! Might have to give it try though, i miss sixaxis.
Thanks for the tip.
I've had similar problems where the 4G icon stays on with the Wifi and wifi calling enabled along with not being able to get mms to send or receive but sms works fine with wifi calling enabled. I also had the mms problem on the rooted tweaked OTA rom.

I've had some of the same problems in the past... I've also had mms work over wifi no problem but I've flashed slow many I can't remember which one it was.. LOL.. I really have to start keeping track... IMHO my phone functions better for me when I run a custom rom than a stock .. wifi calling is a must for me because my garage gives me horrible reception and I can't be missing customers calls and I usually only have that problem when running a stock rom...

It works! Well, it worked all night and into the morning. Have never had that with any other CM7 ROM. I wonder what Fits' kang does differently. Any "gotcha's" I need to know about?

[Q] help? wifi not working after installing Octane

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318704
hi-
I just installed Octane to my galaxy s 4g after much work, research and reading through these forums. Everything is working phenomenally, I'm running gingerbread, have screaming speeds, and fairly decent 4g data connection (confirmed) and my phone boots faster than I've ever seen it, awesome work.
The problem is that wifi is not working that well. The range is horrible and it will only connect to wireless G routers, and absolutely will not even connect to any N routers, it just simply scans, connects, scans, connects, etc....
I have tried multiple modem files, the default that comes with Octane (which I believe is KI3, I tried KF2, as well as KJ3, all with same results, and will be attempting KD2 next (the one that came stock on the phone, I believe), which I expect the same results as I was running the KJ3 modem prior to moving from stock rom to Octane, with no issues which tells me it's likely a problem with how the new rom handles N networks, but if anybody else here has an idea on how to fix this, I'm all ears.
Like I said, everything else is working just great, so I know the rom installed properly and even got gingerbread working, however is someone doesn't believe me that I actually can follow instructions, the links for the guides I followed are below.
Rooted, installed cwm
backed up my stock rom, settings, etc, twice using cwm (just to make sure) and backed all sd card contents up to computer
attempted install of octane per the forum, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1305145
failed due to gingerbread migration issue, fixed per the gingerbread start up guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1223765
and of course for completeness, I did read over/follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122508 where applicable and had a nice look over the bible at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117554 and a look over http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=979109
and that, I believe encompasses about every useful and up-to-date bit of pertinent information that I could find, and remember using since this adventure has taken quite a bit of time over the last few days.
So, please don't ask any dumb obvious questions like "did you set the mounts properly" or "did you wipe the cache first", because I did, if I didn't the rom wouldn't even be working and I would have a different issue, and please don't flame me if this happened to have been answered 6 months ago on this forum, google and even this forum search can only do so much and I did make every reasonable effort to find an answer first. I may be new to these forums but not to technology...so thanks to all who are able and willing to offer any useful suggestions/advice.
Sorry, but that last part of your post was arrogant as hell. You should consider not putting that there if you want help next time. Most people that could help might just be put off by that.
On topic, wifi is a known issue on ask of the GB ROMs, which is why every leak practically has the question "how's wifi". We're still waiting for a leak with all problems solved.
thank you very much for your reply, that was exactly the type of information I was looking for.
As for sounding arrogant, I apologize and did consider that when writing and tried to make it sound less arrogant, problem is I have had more than my fair share of experience on these forums and I find it tends to waste a ton of time when people don't bother to read my post and ask me obvious questions, or just simply insult me by talking down to me like a kindergartener. Now I understand there's a lot of noobs on here and such, and I apologize for my frustrations in getting responses and any hurt feelings. Unfortunately I don't know any better way of getting across that I'm not an idiot, can use search and google, and can follow directions....
Glad I could help.
However, if you're super dependent on wifi, you should probably go back to Froyo instead. IMO, the speed difference in GB is worth the poor wifi signal (although my wifi doesn't seem to have problems).
That wasn't meant to be anything offensive to you, btw. Just wanted to give you a heads up. Unfortunately, some people here jump at the chance to flame.
yeah, I'll take the speed anyday, having my phone up and ready to go in 2-4 minutes versus the 15-20 it used to take is definitely worth it, and 4g is working well enough I can live with being stuck on 4g at one end of my house...
and yes, people love to flame, on xbox we call them telephone tough guys, all the same though, a hallmark of the internet since the early 90's, man that makes me feel old....
You could also try switching out modems to see which one would give you the best service too.
Pardon my lack of proficiency on the subject but what tools and or apps do you use to test the wifi on our phones? I hardly use it so I really haven't noticed any difference since flashing custom ROMs. I think the only time I connect is to use the Google TV remote app to interact with the TV. I understand testing with different routers for the B/G/N connections I was just curious what tools you use to measure signal strength and throughput?

Btw, the 802.11n supports only 2.4GHz, not 5GHz
Nice, thank you sir. Only thing is I don't want to go back to stock or even Froyo to see if there is a difference lol. But with this app at least I can see just what my Wifi is doing.

Probably won't be any difference between modded and stock. Since the rom modders aren't modifying the modem.bin.
But going back to Froyo, you will notice a difference. It is much better there.
Wifi is probably the reason they haven't dropped GB source yet (amongst other stability issues).
[FIXED] wifi on galaxy s 4g fully working WITH gingerbread
IT WORKS, IT'S FIXED!!! WOOT!!!
yes, running gingerbread/octane on galaxy s 4g, have wifi on both N and G networks, secured with wpa/wpa2 psk. Typical setup in any home and it works!! not the strongest signal on the planet but I have access and screaming speeds (4g speeds are off the chain with this new rom compared to stock, better performance probably has everything to do with it)
so, yes, a router reboot and a couple modem file flashes later and viola, everything works.....using gingerbread. Would add a signature to show what I"m using if this site would let me, but for now I'll post it here:
Phone: samsung galaxy s 4g (SGH-T959V)
firmware version: 2.3.5
Baseband version: T959VUVKJ3
modem: KJ3
Kernel version: [email protected] #2
Build: Gingerbread.VUVKI3
Rom: octane v2.0 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1305145
hint: if you choose to install the rom, be sure to install the gingerbread startup pack first!
from the above responses having wifi, 4g, and everything else working WITH a new rom and great performance has had an issue, I would like to say at this point everything is working great all around, no issues whatsoever. Total awesomsauce!

[Q] Incorrect APN Available Inputs In CM based ICS and JB cause Data outage

I've been rooting phones since G1 and I try and hang on to them as long as possible by flashing more up to date roms, thanks to the resources here at XDA. I really like CM9+. I like the recent v9 kernels etc.. I kept getting data dropped until recently it pretty much went out completely (except for wifi). My phone is insured so I sent it back (which they won't charge you for rooting btw, the store guys even told me theyve sent back multiple bricked phones and never got charged any fee, just dont tell customer service.) I got my replacement with the antiquated rom and to the detriment of exam week, unlocked bootloader, wire trick, and flashed roms. The only ones that will work are Miki sense based and Virtuous Infinity (of the ones I tried, all the others were CM or CM based). I checked my APN settings as before and couldn't make anything work. I read about radios and it seems I have the most up to date. The big difference in the roms that work and the ones that do not is that CM is lacking a MMS Protocol input in the APN settings. Thats all I could figure out. I am gonna say that is the answer until someone verifies otherwise. If any developer knows how to add that option in the APN settings to test and see if this will fix our devices ability to operate via data on CM you'd be a personal hero to me. (Though several of you already are.) I went so far as to use APNsBU on an Virtuous Infinity, then reload a CM mode and applied APN back up and it sort of soft bricked the phone. So I reverted back to Virtuous Infinity and tweeked the heck out of it with V6 supercharger and pimp my rom, erased some of the bloatware and its running pretty strong, but would love the ability to run CM9 with the v9 kernel or CM10, with data. Any help in this area would not only benefit me but a bunch of others having the same issues. Thanks!

It seems that tmobile has recently done some tweeking to their network, at least that is what the cs people said. Make sure your sim card is recent. But I also think this is why these roms use to have some data and now hardly get any ever at all except wifi.

[Q] Non-Open Source RIL/CSC for CM11?

MY QUESTIONS:
1) Is it possible to use the old Samsung RIL blob (not Replicant) with CM11? How would one go about doing that? The radios no longer include the RIL/CSC. Is there a version that does, that works with CM11?
2) Are there any ROM's that use the old/original RIL (not Replicant) while still keeping up with the latest Android versions ala CM? (Ie. KitKat)
Backstory:
Before I go barking up the wrong tree, hopefully someone with a little more knowledge can help me understand if what I would like is possible.
After upgrading to CM10.1, and ever since, I have had very poor reception (voice and data). Since moving to a new location, which should have had better reception, it has gotten bad enough that I started investigating things more deeply. The issue is that I will show 4 bars(-75-81db) then inevitably within a few minutes it would shoot down to -115, and then no service. Eventually it would come back. It was always really evident when trying to dial out too, either going into to no service from 4 bars while trying to dial, or within the first 30 seconds of a call.
It seems that with CM10.1 a new open source RIL was adopted (Replicant?). After hours of research, and trying new modems (UCMC1 & UXUMA7), old modems (and at one point thought I had lost my efs lol) that didn't work at all with 10.1+, I have found, as a few others have, that downgrading to CM10.0 dramatically improves reception (in service, instead of NO SERVICE) for those with marginal reception to begin with.
This is at home, usually with WiFi connected, so it is really about just having a working phone at home. I understand that it is possible that the WiFi might interfere with the cell service in some cases on this particular phone, but the dramatic difference (cell reception working vs not working) between CM10.0 and CM10.1+ with the same radio (UCMC1) for me leads me to believe that it CAN work with WiFi, at least.

honestly my first thought would be to ask about what carrier you have? does the issue happen on stock ROM? also I've never heard of a RIL helping aid with improving reception lol maybe you know something I don't.
The only time I've had your issue is when I'm in an LTE area with low LTE reception. My signal would jump from low LTE signal to 4 bars of H+ constantly trying to keep the weak LTE signal for some reason lol.
If that helps hit the like button!!

Not sure what other info you would need. Currently CM10.0 works best (not perfect but usable), so I am using that. I've tried a number of different radios(UCMC1 is currently installed, but tried many others) and settings under network preferences (currently wcdma preferred is my setting). I used twrp 2.6ish up until I tried CM11, and had to revert to CWM to get that to install properly. So the latest CWM. CM kernel obviously(?).

[Q] No Data after flashing Harsh Kernal w/ HellfirePhoenix 2.4.2

I was having a lot of FCs with the stock kernal(FAUX123). I flashed the HARSH kernal, and everything runs perfect on WIFI, except Talkatone is no longer compatable???. When I leave the house, I get no data signal -3G/4G. Any help? I looked through the Harsh Thread for the P999, but it is REALLY long now, and I gave up. Also, if anyone can tell me why I cant register for the ROM updates, that would be kewl, too.
Any help?
I should mention that this ROM/Kernal combo is the ****. got over 13hours battery time with wifi.
