FREE Angry Birds Rio & WSOP on Amazon app store NOW!!! - Android Apps and Games

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but, just thought I'd share info on some free stuff.
I went to the Amazon website on my pc and had to enter my mobile number. Then they sent me a text with a link to download the Amazon store app. Here is the link and text if you don't feel comfortable giving away your mobile number.
" Amazon Appstore: Please download the Amazon Appstore app for Android to get apps: http://amzn.to/getappstore Reply HELP APPS for help. Msg&data rates may apply "
That link will give you access to download the Amazon store apk.
Although you might still have to enter your mobile number for the link to work. Not really sure.
Anyway with the opening of the Amazon app store. Angry Birds RIO is free RIGHT NOW!!! It is also giving away free paid apps ( like WSOP ) every day for who knows how long.
P.S. Amazon store app and account required to install/play games.

amazon appstore apk installation/backup methods, what I found so far

I tried to find out if it's possible to extract amazon app store downloaded apk APPs for backup/archive purposes. here are some facts I found so far,
- when you download an app, the apk goes in \sdcard\android\data\com.amazon.vevezia\. the apk names are in the format of vnz-<some_number>.apk
- I uninstalled amazon appstore at this point and moved the angrybirds apk to root. it installed fine but requires "unknown sources" checked
- angry birds rio won't play. error "it looks like the amazon appstore was uninstalled from your device"
- reinstalled amazon app store apk. angry birds rio error "You must be signed in to the Amazon App Store to run this app".
- signed in appstore, angry birds rio runs fine now.
- switched to airplane mode to disable data/wifi. app runs fine.
- killed appstore in task manager. app runs fine.
so, seem apps only look for appstore(signed in) for the very first time it's launched.
- this file now exists, sdcard\.android_secure\com.rovio.angrybirdsrio-1.asec
will .asec file backup and restore?

This whole process is quite a drag.
I'd like to know also, amazon app store is a pain to use. Also the fact that it keeps signing me out and every time I try and use an app purchased with the app store I have to log in each and every single time

Yongzh emulators still live and free for 2 weeks

Yongzh has released all his emulators for free on the slideme market for 2 weeks to anyone. He plans to continue updates there so spread the word. he also noted n64oid should have some updates very soon. A Sega Saturn emulator is in the works and n64oid is free as well on slideme. Google is banning many emulators from the market so this is the only way you will get them now
U can google slideme on ur phone and download the app from their site which includes a slideme market place. Then it is just a matter of redownloading his emulators if you already have them. If you do not redownload within 2 weeks slideme will say you need to buy them when an update comes out you want to get. So make sure and download them through the slideme app asap. Then whenever you want to check updates just open that app like the android market app and check for updates by clicking on notifications

Someone should download all of them and pull the apk's and post them here!
Keep them someplace all of XDA can access them.
I lost my NESoid and SNES9x when I flashed a new ROM and forgot to back them up.

They're only free for 2 weeks, so hosting otherwise will be considered warez.
I do cringe at the idea of having yet another app store on my phone, but good on yongzh for stepping up and offering them for free.

sucks to be Canadian> need apk for angry birds space

So I have a Novo 7 Basic with many lovely apks thanks to this site. It's running ICS and magic code etc.
Problem: At the Google Play store (Canada) Angry Birds Space does not show up. My kids have been counting down the days for it to be released.
I usually can just go to the Chinese Market the tab came with and download it from there when this happens, but its too new.
I checked the Amazon Market and it shows up there and says its compatible, but since I'm not American too bad for me....
So can anyone help me out with a link for it? If it works I will gladly donate $2 to your pop fund. Thank you!
I'd post a link but I'm not sure if its within the rules or whatever to post free apk files...just google angry birds space apk, download the apk file and place it on your phone, click to install.

LOL - you must be rolling your eyes at me (how many times have I told someone to just google it - just not enough coffee today and too many kids breathing down my neck).
I did google it - I found a torrent for it from piratebay...anyone used that site? I guess I just trust the awesomeness here...
I'll try it and keep my fingers crossed I guess...
update : ok - seems to be working
lol nah I wasn't rolling my eyes...maybe wagging a fist in the air though, jks. Piratebay is awesome.

How to download apk file directly from google play store.

Android, smartphone apps and games are packed as APK files. Learn how to easily download any APK file from the Google Play Store. Android apps are packaged as APK files. You'll be able to use any File Manager app to copy these files from the computer to your Android device and then touch the .apk file to install, or sideload, the corresponding app on your device.
There are various reasons why you may want to download the APK installer of an Android app from the Google Play store:
Google Play Store says that a particular app or game is incompatible with your Android device though you know that the app would work just fine.
Sometime an Android app may be not be available for download in the Google Play store of your region or country.
An app is listed on the Google Play store but you want to install that app on another Android device, like the Amazon Kindle tablet, that doesn’t have the Play Store.
An Easy Way to Download APK Files from Google Play:
Since this we will be using a web service EVOZI. This is a website which allows you to paste the App URL from Google Play Store. Once the app URL pasted it will make a direct download link. The download link will allow you download the APK file for any free Android App available on Google Play Store.
Since the App APK is brought from Play Store, their wont be any security issues. Also the internet site only allows free apps and not the paid at one time henceforth app piracy is not encouraged.
The APK file once downloaded can alongside loaded on your Android Phone and the app can be installed with just one click of a button.

So if its a pay for app do you have to pay for it, don't fancy trusting a randomer with my card details. I badly want the retail version of republique for my galaxy s3 but according to the playstore its incompatible.
It runs just fine but its a 'bad' copy that i have so I'm stuck between iraq and a hard place..

Amazon uk giving away £75 of free apps today

They're are some good apps and games in the Amazon android app store
Sign into your Amazon account first then click on this link
www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000644603
Click on get started and follow the instructions to install the Amazon android app store. Please note this is a different app to the Amazon shopping app.
Ps This is a rival app store to the Google play store, which is why Google won't allow it in the play store, hence the reason you have to turn off security to allow you to install this app.

Does it let you see all recent added games as I don't like on google playstore that you can only see the top new games and not just all new games.
Thanks for sharing
