I updated to 3.7 last night then the tool box update. All of my apps showed up but after changing the "Font", and that was all, I have NOTHING. After opening the lock screen everything is black. If I hit menu it shows "No Applications". On the PC it's all there. So how do I get them to connect? Or what do I do to get this mess straightened out?
Thanks for any and all help ahead of time. I'm really stuck on this one.

Has anyone experienced the blue WM5 startup screen disappearing, this is screen that appears after the initial boot, it is now replaced by a white screen. Is there an easy way to get this back?
thanks,
Mike
Welcomehead.96.png in your \windows\ folder.
Read about it, the problem was reported a few times this week.

any idea on how to get it back? I verified it is still in the folder, I am guessing it is related to the pRSS install
Thats odd, mine went too last night after a pRSS install. I can view the image fine.
Any ideas on how to get it back working on a reset will be much appreciated
Hello:
I have searched to forums, but did not find a thread that addressed my specific problem. I'm hoping that someone here might be able to help...
I have a Fuze running the EnergyRom August 1st build. I have not had any problems to date except for the occasional lag and the battery drain. I've never had to reset or anything.
Last night the phone was working fine, I set the alarm, plugged it in and went to sleep. At 2:30 this morning I woke up to my voicemail message on the phone. The phone had somehow called my voicemail. I hit the end key - no problem - but after that my touch screen would not function.
At first I thought the screen was broken somehow. (There are no cracks or spots; it hadn't been dropped. I did not get the "broken screen" or any black/white "noise" that others referred to in their posts.)
I did a soft reset, no result.
Hard reset, no result.
Then I realized that the screen actually works, but so slowly that it is almost imperceptable.
Right now I am on the align screen part of the boot-up. It is taking approximately 8-10 minutes for the phone to register each touch of the target and move to the next.
I assume that eventually it will boot, but my questions are:
Where do I go from there?
Should I just reflash?
What the heck happened???
Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
Flash back to stock ROM, then reflash a custom one.
Your issue will be resolved
Hi, Bruce. Thanks for responding.
I tried what you suggested, but still no luck. I flashed back to the HTC OEM ROM, then to EnergyROM 'Genesis' (SYS 23016). Now I am stuck on the "tap the screen to set up your Windows phone" screen.
No response at all when I tap the screen.
Any thoughts?
There's an empty text file you can put on your sd card that will let you skip alignment, but I don't remember what you need to name it. Try searching for skip alignment in this forum. Also, there's another recent thread in this forum where 3-4 other posters had sudden screen problems with that rom or one in the series. They may have had black screens. The phones still worked, like with MyMobiler, but the phones were messed up. Search for that thread to see if there's any help. This may be return time, I'm afraid.
When you flashed back to stock, did you see the same issues or only on Energy ROM?
I would say try another ROM.
As Ted said, many users had issues like this on his ROMs.
I looked it up, and the file you need is called "welcome.not" (no quotes). Just rename a blank text file that and put it on the root of your storage card.
Here's another thread on screen issues with that rom.
I screwed my phone trying to change the theme. It powers up to the point where the top and bottom bars are visible, there is only the background wallpaper showing. The start menu is unavailable. I have tried hard reset with no success. I have tried to go through the forums but I can't find anything there that would help. I have been able to reach the tri colored screen but don't know what to do after the usb comes on the screen. BTW I have already updated the rom months ago.
What exactly were you trying to do that caused this problem?
[Q] HTC Desire "appears" as if it has the home button stuck, since a recent update
One of our HTC Desire is exhibiting very weird behaviour since a recent update (couple of days ago). It only affects one of the phone, the second one is working fine, both were updated within the same day.
** I will try to post the software version on the next post, I think it's triggering the "No outisde link for new user" error, even though there is no outside link!
This phone only started playing up about a day after the update, not immediately. It sometimes wake up on its own and bring up the "Recent Apps" screen, as if you have long-pressed the Home key. It then switches wildly between that screen and the zoom out (helicopter view?) view of all the home screens. Initially I thought it is hardware problem and the phone is 'screwed' but I think it's more software problem, since it can work normally sometimes.
The wild screen switching made it impossible to use the phone and because it is working constantly, it gets hot and drains the battery. The problem started to get worse when we plugged it into a PC to sync and it started to go crazy. Since the screen switching so wildly, I can't get into the menu to soft reset or turn off the phone properly. So had to hard reset it, and done that more than half a dozen times.
We did have an issue when we first downloaded that recent update, both phones didn't have enough space, so the install crashed out. We freed up more space and both phones appear to have installed the update fine. Well, until a day or so after, one of the phone started playing up.
At the end, I found that if I held down the optical cursor button (very hard work), it seems to hold off the wild screen switching. I can then sort of use the phone as per normal, so that I can join WiFi and change settings & install apps etc.
I noticed that the Rosie Utility is always showing on the "Recent apps" screen. I've never seen that on a normal "Recent Apps" screen before. Not knowing what it was, I googled and learnt that it's the SenseUI. I then compared the SenseUI info with AppKik and the crazy phone is showing a different size 1.9MB (laterly 2.0MB) whereas the working phone is showing 3.0MB, althought both said HTC Sense Version 1.0 com.htc.launcher.
So I figured something must have gone wrong with the SenseUI Launcher and hence it's doing crazy thing. So I downloaded couple of other launchers, LauncherPro and ADW Launcher. They initially seem to work then all of a sudden the crazy screen switching will start and they will get worse. It seems worst if I left it on the main home screen, if I was in an App, it sometimes stay calm for a while.
In frustration, I thought I will backup my SenseUI (rosie.apk) from the working phone using Appkik and then install it on the faulty phone, but the install failed. Probably because it's being used. Tried switch the default launcher to LauncherPro, still the same. May be it needed Root access to replace? So I rooted the phone with UnRevoke3 (after a long struggle getting the correct ADB working) but still can't install the rosie.apk.
Anyhow, after rooting the phone, it mysterously settled down. I could use the phone normally for quite a while, then it started again. Although not as crazy and only intermittently. Haven't used the phone later part of today, so not sure what it's doing at the moment. When I tried the phone this morning, I stumbled across an option to un-update the senseUI, so it's now supposedly switched back to the factory default (Eclair 2.1??) version? The info from Appkik is stil lthe same though.
My question to the experts are ...
1. Can I 'update' just the latest Rosie.APK since the phone update said I already got the latest and no more updates available. ? If so, where and how?
2. If not, can I download a working copy of Rosie.apk from somewhere, and how do I write that over the existing 'possibly' faulty version?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
HTC Desire "appears" as if it has the home button stuck, since a recent update
Attached is the TXT file containing my HTC Desire Software Version details.
For some unknown reason, it won't accept my post if I had the text from this file in the body of the post. It keeps bringing up the error about no 'outside' link for new user.
Update: If I "Cleare Default" on SenseUI in the App2SD settings, then it appears to stop the Screen Switching, but the Home button stops working altogether, the rest of the home screens appear to work normally though. Very weird. I think the problem is definitely to do with corrupted Rosie.apk (com.htc.launcher) .
Hi,
In case it helps anyone else, my home and menu button on an hd desire became intermittently broken in that they would stop working for days.
I followed this and did a clear data on the rosie utility and they work fine now.
Whoop whoop!
I just noticed, after hitting update Kyocera software, on the phone, there was an update available. I was hoping for jellybean but it didn't happen. The only difference I've noticed so far is that, if you don't have direct connect, and map the button to do nothing, it really does nothing now! It used to wake the screen if off. Very annoying when trying to handle the phone. Has anyone else noticed any differences with the update? I don't know how big it is because it was downloaded on wifi. The dl took two minutes or so. Android version is still 4.0.4.
HELP! Boot loop
I just did an update and now it is stuck in a boot loop. I can not figure out what to do since we can't get adb in recovery. If anyone has any ideas please help. Thanks in advance.
