IS there an app folder that can categorize apps?

Is there an app folder that can categorize apps? Just like Iphone 4, where you drag the app to the folder, it automatically categorize it, so as to save space... Thanks

Where are you looking for this folder to be? Home screen? Application drawer?

I use ADW Home, and there's a great new feature where you can categorise your app drawer... basically means you can hide stuff you don't want to see... you can't just hit one folder to see the hidden stuff, it's like press munu, then activate a different drawer group, but it's easy enough.
There are also some aps out there that do what you want, but I can't say what they are, nor have I used them.

i have ihome, this app mimic the iphone 4, the folder feature is very disappointing. but atleast its there...(no auto cate on droid.)
the home screen is 89% like iphone. atleast they gives you the iphone homescreen only it isn't smooth as.

Home screen, just like ICr*p 4 when you tap on the folder, the sub-folder appears.

You can add folders on the home screen just like widgets then drag the applications inside it.

There is an app I think called apps organizer that lets you categorize apps, then you can add widgets to you're screen that look like an app shortcut, for a particular category, and when you tap it a folder with shortcuts to all apps in that category opens. I think it is apis organizer, I will go check in market. I had it before the last time I reset and debranded, actually never thought to reinstall it until just now.

The free version is called AppsOrganizer.

3rd Folderorganizer is a god send.

Is there a way to categorize apps into folders Within the App drawer?
i dont really like cluttering up the homescreens but i would like to neaten up the app drawer as its full of crap that i hardly ever use but would still like to keep on the phone (google goggles, wikitude, google skymap) things like that

I use the feature in adw. The only improvement I would like to see is an easier way to switch drawers, perhaps icons at the top or bottom of the app drawer.

PressReader Launcher icon

Sorry for the newb question.
How can I create an icon for PressReader on the desktop if possible?
I can see it in the task manager.

Press reader can't be found in the app drawer, but if you use launcher pro or adw launcher you can long press on your home, select shortcuts then activities, find press reader, and select the "main screen" activity.

Thanks for the info.. What I don't get is why its installed and its still not showing up in the app drawer..

It's part of the "Reading Hub" from Samsung and they probably decided to hide the icon.

gotcha. i have to install reading hub to get to pressreader or either create a shortcut for it using launcher pro.

BTW, the reader hubs and the other apps works very well in my milestone too

It works on my evo as well..

So where/how do I get 'Reading Hub' on this device? I have the Sprint SGT. I'm guessing I have to root this device first then get the .apk?
Edit : I've rooted and found the Readers Hub .apk file.
Anyone have the apk file for Zinio?

to version 1.6 there was the still. i have 2.1 rooted, etc.

While in the browser, click on settings (the far left button with the 4 squares on top) and choose windows. It will show you how many browser windows are open and you can close them.
If you only have one window open then you just press the home button to exit.

The system will close it automatically when it is idle for a certain amount of time. This is what 2.1 has. It does not have the close button.

If you want to shut it down completely, you can install an app called "Advanced Task killer" which you can find on the market, once you install that app, you can select which apps you would like to close

I use an app called "Quick Exit", it puts an exit button in your Notifications and lets you close the apps that are active. It's available from the AM.

Menu Buttons Have Changed

Somehow after my daughter was playing with my phone one of the 4 permanent buttons on the desktop at the bottom has been replaced with a game icon,how can i change it back to the icon it suppose to be...thanks

Its just a launcher setting.. usually a ling hold of the icon allows you to change it... depends on the launcher u are using

create a shorcut of the contacts, messages and phone on one of the screens, then long press and drag and drop on the menu in the order to replace the game icons.

No when you long press the shortcut the "remove" icon appears at the bottom,so it cant be dragged onto the menu,you can only remove the message icon on the desktop.

[Q] Customize Long Press Home?

I've noticed that if I long press the home button, a small circle appears surrounding the left corner of the screen. On the circle is a link to Google Search which is displayed as the word Google. My question is whether I can customize app links that come up on that circle and how to do that.

no its pre-installed and only open Google now.. Google now is a search tool not a bookmark..

Is there a mod that allows that to change? I know some developers have been working on a mod to change the app choices in the quick launch menu that comes up when the S-pen is removed. Is anyone aware of a similar mod for adding new choices to the long press on home?
