Hi. My red led indicator will not turn off whatever I do. I've tried everything I can think of. Even removing the battery doesn't help. The moment the battery makes contact with the pins the light turns back on. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm using a huawei ideos u8150 running FUSIONideos 1.8. Any help will be much appreciated.
Hn dats rare...i woul sujjest you to re-flash the rom n c if it works.

Did a full reset, using Australian channel sales from (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=940397)
Phone will still auto-boot open connection of power, and continuous red led. wondering if mine came with a dud battery :/

Then definately a hardware problem...try changing the power source i.e connect to a pc n c if it happens and or it could be problem with the battery as you said.

Last weekend, I noticed that my phone e was no longer logging changes in charge state with battery indicator pro. I thought the program was the problem and removed it. The problem remained, so I decided to see how far it went. Even with the phone off, plugging it in won't make the white battery appear on the screen, even though the phone IS charging.
Without performing a factory reset just as a test, can anyone think of any reasons this might happen?
At&t version

Sounds like a bad USB port. Is it recognized by a pc? Can you transfer data?

A-ha! You are correct! I hadn't considered that branch of my troubleshotting flowchart.
My phone doesn't recognize that it has been plugged in to a PC.
Thanks for the help!
I will research remedies for this problem.
My phone is boot looping right now and w. the phone off I plug the phone into a power source and this pops up on the screen. I was just wondering if its charging while this screen comes up? I'm asking because usually u can c the the battery icon filling up with a green meter going through it. Anyone?
It's not AFAIK. Charging while off is still controlled by the kernel. If it won't boot, then the phone has some kernel/ROM problems, and therefore won't charge.

It should still be charging, but if that screen stays up and the screen won't turn off, it will not charge very fast, if at all (depends on the charging method).
Download and flash stock 2.3.6 odin with pit file.. Boot.. Flash newest recovery.. Flash ROM of choice via new cwm.. Profit (who Cares if its charging)

Agreed when my phone was soft bricked that battery icon screen came up so they I thought it was charging but it really wasn't. When I finally got the phone into a working state the thing was pretty much dead.

Phone details:
Samsung galaxy sl GT-I9003
stock rom DDLF2
Stock kernel
No root
No OC
Details of the issue:
i charged my phone overnight and when i turned it on,it came upto the samsung screen and the screen vanished and it hasnt been able to boot up since,i tried to drain the battery overnight but that didnt seem to help either, its stuck at this blank screen.
I tried reinstalling the battery too but the phone would automatically start up,i could manage to enter the download mode for like 3 secs ,i connected it to my pc via USB but it recognized it but couldnt install the drivers in such a short time, odin doesnt recognise it either
Here is what happened when i took it to the samsung service centre:
The service guy there told me that the hardware is perfectly normal and he checked it infront of me,he told me that the charging pin is slightly damaged but the phone charges without any issues, software couldnt be analyzed but the last time i checked it had the value pack DDLF2 installed so i dont think that would be the problem. The guy told me that the charger pin is connected to the motherboard and may prevent the kernel from booting which i think is just too DUMB even as an excuse .The phone automatically tries to turn on without me pressing the power key when i insert the battery.
I need help PLEASEEE
Thanks in advance
I think it's hardware-based problem. Better check it to legitimate samsung service center.

I cant flash any firmware, the screen fades away before odin can establish a decent connection
If the phone is getting automatically on there is some problem with the power button its pressed too much and I think the phone is restarting because there maybe some loose connection between your battery and the phone

if your phone automatically tries to power on as soon as you insert battery then it might be your Power button problem...
btw lets just consider this case.. what happens when your phone(battery inserted) is connected to charger... how does the screen behaves and what you see on the screen?

The service centre guy tried the power button as a few times and fixed it up by disassembling the device
When i connect the phone with battery into the charging port it behaves in the same manner ,it would automatically turn on and the screen logo (Samsung ....) would then disapper and there would be a blank screen in its place for like ever till it charges (i cant really tell when its charged)

Darn. Is it under warranty? If not, I've read some other threads where people had luck opening up the phone and disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.

No Bootloader , recovery or anything ?
I would say run a RUU but you need bootloader for that .
Before opening it I'd say try get it sent to HTC if still under warrenty
Was your bootloader unlocked ?
I sent off my HTC a long time ago it was rooted unlocked bootloader tampered etc... But My carier carried out the repair but under the authorisation off HTC they repaired it and sent it back so I got pretty lucky .
I don't think disconnecting the battery will do anything (sorry Nippo) because the problems software related not hardware realed .but if any hardware has failed they will repair it only under warrenty .
if I helped hit that thanks button it helps me a lot .

It does sound like a bad battery to me. But just in case If you can connect to your PC with a cable I suggest you flash stock. That will definitely tell you that it's hardware.
At first, i thought the same too. I opened the back and took away the battery, it still the same.
When i tried to go into bootloader with cable attached to my PC or charger is plugged in, it shows the bootloader before self reboot almost instantly after that. It won't stay long enough to let me flash.
Is it completely broken? Motherboard or chips issue?

If your phone is off the charger and you cant turn it on and if it is on charger you see the google logo appearing and disyppearing then your problem is a broken power switch.
I've had the same problem and had neither a dead battery nor power switch. I would leave it plugged in for a few hours, then try to get into boot loader mode. Clear cache via fastboot and reboot.
Tried that, but it won't stay in bootloader mode, it will restarted itself almost instantly and repeated like that forever.

Then its a power button or battery issue.
What about if you unplug it as soon as the bootloader appears?

Confirmed it's not a battery issue.

When i unplugged it as soon as the bootloader screen appear, it will turned off itself and not able to turn it on no matter what i did (unless plug it back to power source).

Why are you so sure it is not a Battery issue?
Maybe then a power switch problem. It may be sticky.
Have a command prompt window up and ready to send a new boot.IMG to your device. The second it hits BL mode try to flash it. See if it writes on the device.
I think this is recoverable.

If the phone is borked and needs an RMA, might be a last ditch effort. I'm comfortable doing something like that, but not all might. It would involve perfect timing.

Meh. Could try it but I doubt it'll do any good.
Thanks for all replies. Nothing i did (including all of suggestions here) can revive it. Trying to do RMA but the BL is unlocked.
I just tear it all apart (thats why I'm sure not a battery and power button issue) and already started selling all the parts. So sad to be one of the unfortunate N5 owner.
