The wifi connection on my Zpad has no mac adress.
That's why I think there is no Wifi connection, is this possible.
Can I fix this, or has the Zpad sent back to the supplier for a repair.

Hi, I am trying to find the MAC address for my BenQ e72 for 1 week, but still couldnt find. I have googled it thousand times but no result. Can anyone help me with finding the MAC address?
MAC address for which interface? You have MAC address for the WLAN - which you can read from the router you are connected to (or WIFI connection properties in WM6). The Bluetooth MAC address should be possible to read from the BT configuration in the device or similar to the WIFI strategy from a device where it connects to - e.g. the Laptop if it has BT.
Why do you need the MAC addresses?
I need mac address for WLAN. Beacuse i have to register my university's wireless network with my mac address in order to use the internet.
I have a Zpad, so I put the question in this part of the forum because it's almost the same as the G-tablet.
The problem is with the WIFI connection. With the orginale firmware from Malata and also with vegan-tab.
Sometimes I can connect to my wifi connection (this is no problem with my asus laptop) but it will hold only for a few minutes then the connection with the tablet and my router is gone.
To reconnect is have to swith off the ZPad and try for many times to reconnect. Mostly I get the message WIFI ERROR.
Sometime the Zpad reconnects but only for a few minutes. Put it on 11,13,14 channels etc.
Is it possible the wifi hardware is broken or is a software problem??
Whats's the signal strength like on your ZPad ?

If you sit the pad within feet of the router, does the problem go away ?

Are you sure that it's not getting an IP number that's already in use ?

Can you set your wireless router to only broadcast N ?

What encryption method are you using ?
a.
Try WPA2-PSK for authentication & AES for encryption
Problem looks solved, turned off laptop and the zpad connects fine.
Hey all,
I have an unrooted Asus Eee Pad Transformer, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is possible to tether the internet from my laptop to my Transformer.
I've plugged it into my laptop, and clicked tether, but do not seem to get any internet connection. Is anyone able to help?
Thanks
Rob
It is possible but you need additional software on your laptop or you need to enable ICS (Internet connection sharing) which often has mixed results.
It also depends on how your laptop is connecting to the internet. If your laptop has a wired connection to the net then your wifi will offer the hotspot connection for your other wireless devices such as the TF'er. I've used Connectify before which worked well although I did need to manually start the connection after each reboot even though it was in the startup programs.
Think I've decided it's my university internet connection. I have a wired connection, but unable to make a wifi hotspot as I'm only allowed one I.P address blah blah, so complete and utter ball ache if you ask. May give them a ring!
I'm in the same situation as you are. No wifi and only one IP.
Use Connectify on laptop. Works for me. No prolem with 1 IP becouse it will make it's own subnet.
Other option is to use USB-rj45 dongle. Had been explaned somewhere on this forum.
Why not use a WiFi router and mirror the IP address if you are only going to use one at a time.
Hello, just got this, its the TF101
I am trying to get internet from my router in the house to this tablet, have the correct password etc (my laptop has no issues connecting) and it just keeps trying to "obtain ip address"
I have a s3 phone that I tried using as a hotspot to get internet to the tablet and that worked, is there something else I can try and get onto my home internet?
Please try and help! Thanks everyone.
The problem is probably your router. I'm guessing it's a problem with the way the router is handling the DHCP lease. Try setting up the Transformer with a static IP address and see if it gets connected to your wireless. If that works then I suggest getting a better router.
I had a similar issue with an old linksys router. Once I checked out the router everything works fine.

Or just reset the router / update the firmware if the static IP works. Just make sure you check for the available static IP range in your router's config otherwise it may not work if you're assigning an IP from the DHCP range.
Do you use MAC-address filtering?
Switch it off in the router or just add the Mac-address of your TF101.
Please recommend a wifi router that can also be used as a wifi range extender. Also the firmware of the router must have the option of mac address cloning. Can i consider buying tp-link wa901nd?
