There's an app on the market called led light(or something like that) that gives you the sense looking widgets. Only thing is that the app graphic looks like crap. So I went in and changed the graphic to the HTC one lol.
PM me if you want it. I don't want to upload someone else's work with my changes w/out his permission.
Works great on DC 3.2.3.
Thanks.
In case anyone cares, I tested it with cm6. It installs, works great.
I dont see any link! Is it cuz im using the xda app?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
It will install but no actually work on the DX with the 2/2 OTA
FWIW I used to use LED Light until it's graphic conflicted with my new theme. Now I use 'Extended Controls' (~$1) that is a pretty damn customizable power control widget (wifi/3G/etc) that also has a button to make the LED light up.
It may not be worth the money for just the light, but since you can customize your power control widget to any size and any number of controls + unobtrusive LED light, I'd say it's worth it.
Sigh... I can't even link a pic of it because I'm still a noob.
EDIT: I actually don't know if it will work on 2.1 either - I don't see a minimum version requirement. Also, I thought I'd list it's 'controls' - MANY more than stock lets you play with. (Another reason it's worth the $1)

How close are we to a rom to flash..? meantime please post that rosie
Patience me getting the Rosie working was the key to progress. So now it can all come together. Plattypus and misfit have done a lot of resizing that needs to be tested out. I'm almost home to upload a Rosie for you all.

anges compared to v06
~ Added "Force-enable both cameras" option
~ Added "Disable sign-in/out vibration" option
~ Removed "Enable LED flash" option and moved it into in-call menu as a toggle!
~ Cleaned/re-wrote bluetooth audio and other parts of code
Basic features:
- Works with devices with no camera, incompatible CPU (no video-calling of course!)
- Works with devices with only one camera
- Works with devices with 2 cameras
- No autostart by default (you can select if you want Skype to start on boot // if skype keeps autostarting randomly, disable skype contacts' sync through Skype settings!)
- Exit button!
- Colorful status icons at notifications bar
- Bluetooth audio (*highly experimental* / while in-call tap options key and then "Toggle BT Audio". You need to have an active connection with a BT headset first, of course!)
- Camera flash support (just tap "Toggle Flash" under in-call options menu!)
- Some other under-the-hood fixes (ringtone follows ringer rules, vibration follows sound profile rules, vibration works even on normal ringer mode, speaker toggle under in-call options menu)
Has a new settings screen, ADVANCED SETTINGS, where you can customize things!
Just press the options key on your device and then tap Advanced Settings.
To get video-calling, if it's not enabled by default, just check "Enable video calling" in Skype settings!!! If there's no such option in Skype settings, then use the "Force-enable video-calling" toggle in Advanced Settings
Video-calling is ONE-SIDE LANDSCAPE ONLY!!!
If you don't see some of the settings below, they're not supported on your camera/device.
(Unsupported focus/other modes may lead to black camera image, just pick another or revert to "Default"!)
Additional settings available:
- Force-enable video-calling, will force Skype enable video-calling function
- Force-enable both cameras, for Galaxy Tab P1000/other devices - needs testing
- Keep screen alive, will prevent screen from going off when in audio-calls
- Avoid setFPS, fix for some users with black image on their cameras
- Use fixed camera IDs, for users that their phones detect both cameras as rear-facing or both as front-facing
- Flip incoming video-image, will flip (mirror) incoming video feed!
- Autostart on boot, will start Skype when your phone boots up
- Enable verbose logging, will force Skype log more information
- Herotab/Dropad FC fix, for users of this tablet, fixes FC when tapping video-call button
@ Camera settings
-- Camera resolution picker (Black camera image or zoomed image? Try "Force 320x240"!)
-- Focus Mode
-- Color Effect
-- Scene Mode
-- White Balance
-- Rotation (will rotate your camera image - thanks to droidrx)
-- Flip image you see
-- Flip both image you see and send
@ Audio settings
-- Ringtone picker, choose your own sound for incoming calls!
-- Notification sound picker, choose your own notification sound!
-- Disable vibration entirely
-- Disable sign-in/out vibration
-- Notification vibration pattern, customize vibration!
-- Disable sign-in/out sounds
-- Force speaker off after skype calls, if your speaker stays enabled after skype calls
-- Use MODE_IN_CALL, for devices with audio problems (like ZTE Blade)
You need to uninstall skype app, then install my APK, unless you're already running one of my builds!
If you have force-closes or issues, try wiping skype app data using Titanium backup and reinstall.

My understanding is that individual android devices need their own app for controlling their camera flash as a flashlight/blinding ray. We need one!
Tiny Flashlight + LED on Android Market works fine to me.
Torch works great. Also has widget. Or you can wait for Skystocketeer's next update.
included in the 12 and 14 panel mod. no app needed.
Brightest flashlight in the market works excellent for skyrocket. You can have the led, screen, or both on. Many great reviews on the app, one of my must haves.

Works great for me too.
BLN is currently implemented in cyanogenmod / vurrutrom as a modification of the ROM (opensource liblights), not the kernel. Therefore it will work on every kernel.
You need the lights.latona.so file from cyanogenmod and must rename it to lights.omap3.so.
The correct, renamed file is attached for your convenience.
Make a backup of /system/lib/hw/lights.omap3.so and replace it with the attached file.
After that, change the permissions to match all other files in the folder and reboot.
Changing permissions on a terminal:
cd /system/lib/hw
chmod 644 lights.omap3.so
reboot bootloader
Click to collapse
if you want to use a root explorer, permissions for the file are rw-r--r--
Note that most Google apps and Facebook do support led notifications but touchwiz apps don't...
Further, if you are using any touchwiz apps, then you will need Light Flow from the market, to have notifications of those apps. Adjust Light Flow settings to your liking, but do not enable omap_bl control.
About Lightflow config:
On General settings > enable button backlight control
On notifications > enable button backlight LED and leave brightness at 255
Use led flash-rate very slow or always on (works best for me)
Works perfect with whatsapp on KPQ, thanks!
Thanks !!!
Tried it when you posted @bck kernel thread.
Good you opened a new thread.
Thanks. Working great.
Can you give some details/instructions about light flow settings? I'm finding it a bit difficult to set up.
Thank You Pibe, working in UBKPE (Gb Argentina)
works for kp3, Many thank!!

yes, it should work... and as miui doesn't have touchwiz apps, lightflow isn't needed

Will this add to the extra battery consumption? Or no noticable effects on battery? But this is really good work.

Doesnt really affect the battery as the lights hav minimum usage.Im using miui and it uses this mod and I dont really see any difference in battery consumption.

i tried it. no doubt, it works, but just for my opinion, after setting the config provided in the first post, the bln is not that real time, sometimes it just doesn't let you be notified. the bln is not consistent in other words. but this is great work. maybe there are some files that need to be configure, and work with lights.omap to make this mod consistent and reliable when it comes to notifying the user.
I am still saying that it will be great if we able to make bln mod in kernel itself. There are lots of apps which are available in market but it requires bln kernel mod. If we able to make it then easily we can change the blinking rate of bln like galaxy S users have done since age ago.

here's where i read the thread of bln control saying that blinking backlight (for notifications) can consume battery than static backlight (just for lighting the button when pressing backlight buttons).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=823922
but i really hope we can have this in every kernel and also making it as like it doesn't consume battery life at all, and also real time and consistent notifications.
@ alfrix
I just read somewhere that cm 7.2 has released with some ICS features backported to GB. One of it is ICS rotation animation. Like how we have ported bln feature can we take a file from cm 7.2 which is responsuble for ICS rotation so that we can have ICS rotation animation in out stock GB formwares also???

It needs a lot of framework changes: look here for that reason every firmware version must be modded individually or a lot of problems will arise...
For now i'm looking forward to port full bln (kernel mod + this liblights) but i have little time because of college... you may try to decompile framework-res and make the changes yourself... everyone starts somewhere
