Hmmm...serendipity and firefly are probably the only 2 roms I haven't tested...but among the rest, I find continuum 3.5 to be totally awesome, followed by cognition 4.1. All with sp 57/58, plus voodoo lagfix.

how have you managed not to test 2 of the best roms out there...saving the best for last?
continuum uses suckerpunch and posts some pretty out there quadrant #'s. I haven't used suckerpunch with firefly or serendipity but i suspect they could push it up over 2000 as well. Can't put to much stock in quadrant scores alone i have had plenty of roms with where i got 1700-1900 quadrant with oc but actual user interface displayed was less smooth/quick than ones with 1200-1300 quads.

If you do the following when you first flash it helps too:
Wipre Dalvick Cache.
Wipe Battery Stats.
Wipe Cache Partition.
------
Launcher Pro with the right settings can also work wonders.

I love how noone mentioned CM7, the ONLY ROM with decent JIT right now. Also a huge follower of DRAGON or Andromeda. But seriously, I'm a fan of JF6 with the stock launcher. And are we really talking about benchmarks? Quadrant? Who cares?! Benchmarks aren't worth crap, ESPECIALLY Quadrant.

Firefly all the way (2.6)!!!

There is no other room more stable than stock.
I have used 1.2 kernels and different roms and the only place that you can see a difference is on Quadrant test, in real life use I don't notice a damn difference from stock speed.
My friend have Bionix 1.2 on his NS and his phone is more faster then my NS
MoDaCo gets the best battery life, the bionix 1.3 beta isn't too stable and to be honest 1.2 isn't my cup of tea, cyanogenmod is in nightlies still but its very stable and its what both my wife and I run, plus there are a few others I haven't tried. For kernels I definitely recommend netarchy 1.2.1 as it has the amazing voodoo sound mod plus its the most stable I've used. Just my two cents.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
netarchy 1.2.1 + stock rom works pretty good IMO
CM7 Nightlies are surprsing stable and Cyan Fast.

Using Bionix 1.3 Beta and also Netarchy 1.2.2
Battery life is better than stock. Unless clearing battery statsstats in cwm make such a massive difference.

I would recommend bionix 1.2 or the 1.3 beta release. I was on 1.2 and its fantastic...really fast and stable. Updated to 1.3 beta with no problems.
Ive tried cyanogen and modacco...both good also but i prefer bionix for now. They all seem well stable and fast tho.

With no disrespect to bedwa I feel the hellraiser kernel is better. Even with overclock infusion doesnt seem as fast. The hellraiser and entropys kernels also now have initramfs mods from the att gb leak that give faster data speeds and functional wifi on att based roms that are to come.
Others may have a different oppinion. Also I'm not sure what is packaged in that rom.

I agree with you, Dani. I played around with several different kernels and ROMs before settling where I'm at. I'm in love with Entropy's daily driver. Between solid battery life, very decent data speeds, and overall snappiness, it's the best thing I've used so far....

I'm going to assume right off the bat you're on an EE4 froyo rom? the safest is 1.4ghz however not many peoples phones (myself included when I was on froyo) will be stable, there were random reboots and lockups galore... I was stable at 1.2ghz but as I said everyone's phones are different, but to answer your question yes you can go up to 1.4

You can overclock with that, but personally, why would you use an app to load a module to overclock? You're forcing the system to do something it doesn't want to, which could easily lead to problems.

it needs to say SCH-I510 not humble by Danalo1979 for the app to know what phone you are on.

Didn't we have this thread yesterday?
You forgot to list Weapon. Most stable daily rom out there. Everything works. The rom has been abandoned, but it really does not matter. It is that good.

Weapon gave me random reboots and it was sort of buggy, so I stuck with EaglesBlood with Faux's 0.4.7 kernel. I feel as if EB is just the most stable rom for my phone at least.
MIUI all the way. From my experience the most stable and the best battery life. At least it is for me.

Quick question about SetCPU

You could underclock/undervolt and set profiles, but not overclock. There are only two OTA based kernels for G2x, Dragon or Faux.
Dragon:

Faux:

For weapon you'll want to use faux's kernel. He has a thread in developement somewhere with his gingerbread, froyo, and weapon roms
