I just installed the latest Das Bamf 2.0 Beta 5 and my Thunderbolt is stuck on the dots screen (background only with notification bar on top, 0 signal bar, battery and wrong time). I cleared everything before I flashed to the rom but I am stuck. What did I do wrong? What can I do to fix this?
Boot into recovery and wipe then reflash the rom or a backup. Don't fret.

I guess that I have overlooked it, probably because I am worried as hell about screwing my phone.
Probably be a dumb question because I should have seen it but, How do I boot into recovery?
Edit: Found it. When I was looking for it earlier I didn't go far enough, needed to go one more page.
Well she lives again. I also tried to flash to 2.0 beta 5 and it did the same thing again. I am not sure what the problem is, but I guess I will just enjoy a rooted TB for a little while and then flash to a ginger rom of some sort.
Did you flash the radio for bamf that is posted in the first thread of bamf?
There is a special radio you need to flash to get gingerbread working.

Will this keep it from even loading the lockscreen?
If so do I flash it before or after the rom?
Edit: I just went to the 2.0 Beta 5 thread and looked, I do believe I flashed the correct radio. I will give it a try again in the morning, it is almost 1 here so I really need to get into the bed, gotta be up at 6 in the morning for work.
Happened to me too. I just reloaded the new GB radio and the flashed the 2.0 rom. All good after that.
Haha... Yeah lack of sleep doesn't help... Give it another shot after you've had a chance to get some rest.
Some people have had issues like yours. You could try re-flashing just the ROM. If all else fails just re-flash everything like eatrice313 did. You'll get it eventually.
If you flashed the radio in the bamf 2 thread then you did the right radio. You flashed it in hboot right? Should have been named P05IMG.zip If you did that then you did it right. Flash rom, then radio.
I used the non-adb method - flash rom, batt pull, then hold power and vol down to boot into hboot then flash the P05IMG file.

After some sleep I carefully downloaded the Alpha Gingerbread radio set and flashed it through hboot and then reflashed the Bamf 2 ROM and got the same result, broken on reboot.
Sorry man... not sure whats going on. Did you try rebooting to recovery and reflashing just the ROM after it boots up and is "broken"?
Somebody with more knowledge might be able to help out, I'm still fairly new to the android scene.

I did attempt that but it didn't work out for me.
The odd thing is that I tried to flash to Gingeritus and I kept getting force until the phone would just shut down. Could these two problems be be related?

I would try REdownloading the latest Bamf Beta 5 and putting it on your sd card...then factory reset everything and wipe cache and dalvik cache, and reflash Bamf. You may have gotten a bad download file.

lolzzz...yeah it happens, let us know and if anything I'll help you troubleshoot your problem.
I'm having the exact problem. Flashed the GB radio, had no service with the froyo rom, flashed BAMF GB Beta 5, boot animation plays and then phone freezes.
I just reflashed the radio and still nothing I'm about to reflash the ROM and see what happens
Did you wipe Data?
I wiped data and cahe and dalvik cache
How long did you let it sit before turning off/pulling battery/throwing at the wall? First boot can take upwards of 5 minutes.
Are you talking about the animation screen or the home screen after that? I let it set a few min at the home screen and nothing happened
Just my .02.... When I and most others made the switch from froyo to gingerbread, it wasn't an exaggeration when we say "wipe, wipe, and wipe again". I wiped everything 3 times... By that I mean factory reset 3 times, wipe dalvik 3, batt stats and all 3 times. Flashed Rom in recovery, batt pull before reboot, volume down + power to get to hboot, flash radio and reboot. I had zero reboots upon startup and haven't had a problem since. Well at least no problems that weren't directly caused by experimenting with some stuff. When the phone does boot the first time, just walk away from it and let it do its thing. The kernel needs to settle. Don't jump in and start trying to set it up too fast. Patience helps a lot in the beginning.
Hi, I recently started messing around with my sgs4g and installed a custom rom using the GB Stater Pack and flash the KJ6 AOSP, everything is working flawlessly except that everytime I'm talking to someone I suddenly hear a rewinding-kind of sound and the other person can hear it too, it happened to me using octane rom, stock GB update and AudiophileFTW edition, can someone please help me get rid of that sound it's getting really annoying, I would really appreciate any help given. Thanks in advance
dude, you hurt your hardware.
Go back to stock KD1, and see if you still have the issue, If you do, go to the tmobile store.

If I Odin the stock one the rewinding sound goes away, I already did that, but I really want to try a few custom roms because the battery consumption of the stock one is awful.
I have 2 galaxy s 4g both of them are having the same problem one is running the kj6 aosp and the other one is running stock gingerbread leak rooted

Weird issue. I know you didn't mention it in the OP, but are you over or under-clocking at all?
I'm somewhat with airflup on this - it seems to be a hardware issue. I am saying that based on the fact that I've not heard of anyone else having this issue on GB ROMs. It could be something funky with one of the chips in the phone but only manifests in the GB ROMs. It's weird but not unheard of.
I've not attempted this so someone tell me I'm an idiot for thinking about this, but what if you flash a stock GB ROM followed by the modem from KD1 or whatever Froyo ROM you're using to see if the problem is still there?
If you have the same issues on 2 different devices, you should redownload the roms(cwm and odin), maybe its a download issue i.e. mds5 error
Tell me if that works

As of today I have rooted my phone with different methods, re-downloaded everything, used different versions of Odin, went back to stock, install official GB, it's still doing it, also with the stock Gingerbread leak I noticed that besides the rewinding nose every 4-5 minutes, also the call log doesn't work and while I was watching a movie at work the phone light stayed lit during the whole film... I don't know what to do, is either go back to stock and recharge my phone every 4 hours or go back to kj6 aosp and deal with that annoying sound ..

Kernel is stock no under nor overclocked, btw what's the modem's role on the galaxy s 4g can this be the issue, I have never changed it but what if I do, can it help in any way, thank for all the help...
The modem is the radio for your phone to communicate with the cellular service. People change the modem file to see if they get better speeds in their area. Check the dev section, there's a whole thread containing just the modem files to flash.
I don't know if it will makea difference but it certainly couldn't hurt to try.

Hi guys,
I know there's been lots of cases such as this but I am frustrated and don't know what to do. Been searching for answers but couldn't find an exact answer pertaining to my problem.
I recently flashed Coredroid to my Inspire 4g and for some reason, every time the screen times out, my phone hot-restart's by itself.
Anyone know what's going on?

I had LeeDroid V5.1.1.
I did full wipe/data/cache/dalvik. Not overclocking or undervolting. (Don't like to mess with them)
I'm currently using Coredroid v9.4
Used ClockworkMod for flashing.
anything installed aftermarket? like battery mods or boot screens or stuff from the kitchen?
possibly a corrupt install or download, but wanna get as much info before guessing starts

I recently just switched roms to Android Revolution and it works just fine. I redownloaded and reflashed CoreDroid and it's still doing the same thing. Could it be that there's something wrong with the Rom itself or the tweaks?
What radio are you using? Haven't really heard of radios causing crashes like this but it is possible.
Did you format your SD card too? Files from a previous OS on a SD card can cause this issue.
You mentioned that the ROM is all stock. Did you use any apps to restore apps and files?

Radio: 12.56.405.1.
Kernel 2.6.35.14
Yeah, I started making assumptions that it's probably either the radio or kernel but it just doesn't make sense. Everything works perfectly with Android Revolution.
No, I did not format my SD card. Is that recommended for every time I flash a new Rom? (sorry if I'm a bit inexperienced at these things)
Update:
Backed up my SD and reformated it. Still does it.
Rom is in every way, stock. The only app I used to restore my apps is the market, which is not 'google play' or w/e.

It is not needed to format SD card but it is to format System and data before a new rom flash. Mainy when one is build from an DHD port and the other is an Inspire based rom.
Anyone else have this issue? came from cm7.
cwm, wiped delvik,cache,data
flashed cm9...would not boot
restore to cm7
wipe data/cache/delvik
flashed essentials
flashed slim base 3.3
flashed essentials
loaded great, works awesome...except no data...wifi works :\
Thanks

That is the version of cwm I have with Slim 3.4. I have had no problems with data. My only suggestion, if you want to try again, is that you flash base first then, without rebooting, flash essentials. I would also suggest that you have your preferred modem loaded on to your sd so that after you reboot, you can see if your modem will work.
This is an outstanding ROM.

I also have this version, flashed several roms, modems, did the modem dance, and not getting any phone signal, only wifi.
Would it be good to try a USB solution instead of cwmr?
I dont have any clue of how all this technical things work, I just follow instructions and then it does not work.

Just to add my "me too" to the discussion. I couldn't get Slim ICS to work for me as a phone - no data, no phone (I couldn't call from my home phone). I flashed a modem I knew worked for Doc's - no change. I checked the APN and activated - no change. I reinput the password in case the APN had it wrong - no change. I reflashed the whole package and tried all these again - no change.
So I reflashed Docs. As soon as the first boot concluded, my phone was telling me I had a missed call (from my home phone). Whatever the issue is for some of us, no one has come up with an answer yet. We just have to stay away from that ROM.

Check your IMEI after flash & efs folder.
It's very strange. I can send/recieve text just fine, i can even use data. Just when I call, I can't hear anything at all even when volume it at its highest. People recieve the calls, but can't hear me. Some thing when people call me. Any I ideas?

Considering that every ROM in the development section has calling working, I'd say try deleting cache and dalvik and if that doesn't work then re flash.

I have the same problem and it's gone unsolved. I've done absolutely everything yet it still happens. The only thing that seems to help is if you power down the phone completely, reboot, open web browser, open gapps, then try and make a call. Because if you try to make a call first thing after a rebbot, nothing, ever. This is the only method I've found that can get me the phone.apk to actually connect a call. There are days I want to smash this phone into a million pieces.
