Guys, Lets Get @Drod2169 a Thunderbolt - Donate Here!

Ok guys, It's that time again. Time to help a great dev get a Thunderbolt so we can continue to enjoy a wild variation of Roms and Themes.
@Drod2169, former and current dev on the Droid X and Samsung Fascinate (and broke ass college student lol) could use a little help raising the funds for a dev phone. Anyone who knows him, knows he has a real passion for android and dedicates A TON of time to it. You can rest assured your money is going to a great person in the android community. His work is always top notch and I can assure you it'll be worth a few bucks to throw in the pot. Ask any current or former Droid X & Fascinate user, Drod does not disappoint.
A few notes
-This was not his idea, he wouldnt ever ask.
-No one is demanding you give him money, if you have something against it, move along. No hater comments please.
NO one here is begging, it just gives us more Rom options, which is ALWAYS a great thing.

Don't have the Thunder Bolt, don't plan on it, but I sent a small token his way cause I love rubiX for the Droid X, drod rocks and so does rubiX! Without devs like drod and others, smartphones would be boring lol

Here we go again. G2/nook. now TB.
Who is in for making donations to make a fully working AOSP or CM7 version of thunderbolt (mecha) with FULL LTE/3G and WIFI. Everything must work. Or bounty will not be collected and returned to people.
Rules:
1) As above. Everything must work!
Wifi/ Blue tooth / video / cam back and forth / video / full playback of video (no hacks) smooth video playback even on youtube.
You may donate as much as you want:
I have been known to do this for the community. The person/group who gets it. Can give it to charity to xda or buy beer. I really don't care.

agreed ^^ CM is almost done, they have lte working and 3g, just finishing up on wifi, blue tooth and some others. Cyan said in his interview nightlies should start soon.

Most of that is already working in CM7, is it not? No need for a bounty imo, they will get it if its not done already.

I don't think its a bad idea as some may, I know cyanogen's peeps are working on it but cyanogen and his team aren't the only developers out there who may wanna get in on this. I say go for it, competition is always a good thing! As long as the person or persons who release it first get the donations promised go for it. Moved to general.

Wow this why I like the Eris community better. No one asked for bounties, and everyone got along. This is ridiculous, when you bought the phone, you paid for what you got and if u want something else then wait till the devs do it at their own pleasure.

If u want to donate u should look for a way too donate to slayer and his crew who r spendn a lot of their time to get this up and running for us..

Also the donations for the Nook were never for a bounty. It was to get more devices to more devs in hopes of getting something going.

(by the way, this was jface's idea, white & I didn't know he was doing this, thanks jface)

I will be 110% committed to development on the G2X. First order will be a multitude of lockscreens for everyone to choose from. Roman has been developing all kinds of status bar tweaks and such which can be viewed here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1123830.
Since the G2X is aosp based we will be able to do so much more with it. That and that fact that Roman is a java master. Needless to say, I dont think anyone will be disappointed.
BTW - thanks jumaan for getting this going.

Yeah they most definitely will be once/if they are able to purchase the phone(s).

Good to hear you guys are interested. I looked at some of your work and was very impressed. I donated a bit...will do more next week (after payday).
A note to everyone complaining about a perceived lack of development...devs can't afford to purchase every new device that they are willing to support (working for free). If you want more development, support it. Skip the morning Starbuck's and give a couple bucks...just my two cents.

Guys, I used birgertimes roms in the vibrant days and they were the most stable, eye candy full roms, that would fly. I'm down to donate when I get trip a computer. We need more developers.

OK Guys, I am one of those guys who gets everyone's smart phone in my local community and pimps them out.
I have had more MT4G's (not SLIDE - Glacier) brought to me because of the Virtuous ROM. The General Public love the Virtuous ROM. I happen to really like it as well. I have been through every stage and mod of HTC Sense. I love Sense!
Here I am now with a MT4GS. NO Custom ROMs. I am sick of checking this Dev Section for a custom ROM(s) and decided to do something about it.
I have donated $10 to the Virtuous Team and requested that they make a donation section for MT4GS aka DoubleShot.
The team NEEDS a device to make substantial development possible. That is understandable.

Just Pledge an amount until the 1st Post says differently as virtuousROM needs a to separate regular donations from MT4GS-DoubleShot development.
When I donated, while chatting on IRC this AM, I could not make a comment to identify that the donation was for this development.
I was told to hold off on donations and just get pledges until they could identify the purpose of the donation on PayPal.

(I hope all of you are as excited as I am to get closer to having the Virtuous ROM on our MT4GS's!!!!)

I was going to get CM running on our device, but I've been feeling lazy, particularly because I don't want to run CM. I might do it soon.

DEFINITELY count me in for $20 towards Virtuous - it was by far the best ROM I ever ran on my MT4G! I'd love to see what it could do on the MT4GS! I can't wait for OC!

I agree on best ROM for MT4G as well.
Sorry I did not have a chance to post link up until now. I was actually with a friend who has the latest Virtuous ROM with BluMagic theme on his MT4G. I swear his phone performs better than my MT4GS!
I hope we get enough donations to get the ball rolling on our MT4GS's!

I'd be happy to test that out for you but it seems like a lot of devs who don't own the phone run into boot problems and give up quickly. But I'm more than willing to try flashing as many versions and you'd like to make! Thank you!

You guys will have a sense rom soon, just testing out the dualcore stuff and boot.img and checking updater scripts.

Alright guys... we al know we have spur of ports for us in the last few weeks, and then in the last week had 2 native roms being released...All of this was made possible by Dman, bigfau, and boostnsubaru(pm me if i forgot anyone)... and it really livened up our forum... but as we all know, there are new phones out, and no doubt alot of us probably want them.
So i'm making this post to try and keep these developers with us even if they want to venture into new phone territory. As we know dman his giving is infuse to his daughter and getting a skyrocket, but will still develop for us if we can donate one for him... he said he got 500 downloads in the first week of CatyRom... which i have really enjoyed... here is the link for it for anyone who has not seen it

+1. Dman is like the new gtg465, we need him to stay and not go. He has done so much, without him the infuse development may sink some more. There are devs left, but they are slowly decreasing. I, for one am going to start. Just the problem is my infuse is pretty much bricked for good, and if the opportunity comes for me to go to the skyrocket or even plain gs2 because of my infuse, it will be taken. I will be getting either (and the gnexus too!) because my parents can upgrade. Hopefully my phone comes to a working state, I feel a need to dev for the android phone that introduced me to all. Whoops I blabbered too much lol.
