Does anybody ghere uses walmart famyly plan? - General Topics

It's their webpack data the same as tmobile?
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=1083044

1gb of data for $40, no thanks. I have two lines each of us use 1gb/mo. That would be $150 plus tax per month. Curren t bill is $120 plus tax for unlimited data, 400text, 1600mins and 5 my favs.
Check out simple mobile, unlimited for $60/mo.

No.... hmmmm I wonder if these people have a walmart plan:

Android preferred plan..heads up to my fellow beloved g2x owners

Ok saw this in the sensation forum and tried it and got 5 gig for20 bucks vs 30. Rumor is no soft cap... Well I'll find out cause I'm gonna try and hit it..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192020
Ask for retentions, politely ask about the android preferred data plan. Then when the say yes, make sure its 5gb for 20 bucks... Then ask if they can apply it to your account..... They still say there is a cap, but others report no throttling. Either way its 10 bucks off...
What's this got to do with g2x you may ask? Well it just makes our g2x that much pimper...
They let me do it on both lines and one is new... Time to test throttling
I will give that a try when I get back home from work....
Thanks for the heads up
Im on this plan but never go over to test it out

Hell ya, great job... Listen to this..
Used to have two lines, family share for 99$+ 20$ 2 gigs, + 30$ for 5 gigs, 7.99$ insurance plus taxes like 160+ .. Called and got the g2x free adding another line for only 10$ a month, so total 170+ and free g2x..
Today, called and switched 30$ 5 gig plan to 20$, so that cancels out the new line cost. Them called and got the 20$ 2 gig plan changed to 20$ 5 gig plan...
So I made out this last week, free phone, free line and unlimited 5gb plans ..
I have been using this data add-on for YEARS. Whether it be the Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, or Total Internet package I have been using the same data plan (effectively) for $20.

Just changed my plan today...
I had Family 1000 with 2 lines and an @home $10 a month plan. My data lines were $30-5gb for mine, and my daughter had the $15-200mb plan. I called and converted both to the $20-5gb android plan. I started the converstation stating that's what I was calling about, and the rep told me immediately that it was available. No hassle at all. I'm happy!
Awesome guys glad to hear y'all getting hooked up.
Thanks for the tip. I called tmo and the rep put me on hold and asked the retention depth for me. Now I have the preferred android web only plan. He told me it was twenty bucks for five gig, but I must not sure what "web only"means. I hope it is the right plan.

I just got off the phone with customer care and they switched my data to the android preferred plan in about 30 seconds. Thank you very much for this tip!!!
Same here! At, first the rep told me that it was a "web only plan" with no minutes. I told the rep that I knew of others that had this plan and still had minutes as well. He asked about my device and we had a quick chat about the G2x and how I was going to switch to the sensation. After a few minutes of chatting he obliged and added the package for me!
5GB for 20 bucks?!?! Can't beat that!
No go for me.
I'm currently on a Family Classic 1000 Minute - Talk+Text for $79.99 and 2GB Data for $20.
I was told that the Android Preferred Plan (5GB for $20) is for customers that are on a newer plan that was just introduced 6 days ago. My "new" plan that was introduced in May, 2011, is not eligible and I will have to pay a ETF I wanted to change to the newest plan to benefit the Android Preferred Plan.
Anybody else run into this roadblock as well?
Thanks,
Anthony
I'm in a similar situation. Since they changed me to the new value plan for $59 and waived the $200 migration fee, they will only give me 5GB if I pay $25 for it, which is an additional $15 for me... I'm considering it strongly, though.

I got mine as an "out of box special" (review model) from Handtec. Cost £351 including shipping. At the time, that was about $500aud. Pay as you go

Just want an opinion on 'Pay as you go' through T-mobile. My contract is up soon and I don't feel like paying the insanely high t-mobile bill as I do now for 2 lines. It would be cheaper to just get the $50/mo card. My question is, is it worth it? And is the service as far as 4G comparable if not the same? And will it work on my SGS4G using the 'Pay as you go' SIM?
Just trying to clarify for myself.
Look into Simple Mobile.

Simple its good service ....what I dont like that they slow ur internet if u use alot ...
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
I'm just curious about the T-mobile pay as you go. If its worth it.
The monthly 4g is ok if thats what u mean, $50.00 unlimited everything but with 200mb of 4g. Its the exact same service as the contract plans. Its $60.00 for 2gb of 4g and $70.00 for 5gb. At least in my area, now the value plans are $100.00 for 2 lines unlimited everything with 2gb of 4g but I believe you have to sign a two year contract with those and have unsubsidized phones.
out west you only get 100mb of 4g for $50/mo, then it slows down to 2g speeds. If you use wifi a lot, this plan is okay, otherwise, you'll want the $60 or $70 plans.
Also, those monthly fees include tax and everything, so if you are on the $50/mo plan, all you pay is $50, no extra taxes or fees unlike the contract plans which add that stuff on top of your monthly plan cost
T-Mo PayGo
@thegoo
I had the T-Mo prepaid for almost a year before switching to a contracted plan and it worked well for me. I had the one with a 2GB cap (~$60 as D12005 mentioned) and the data speeds were pretty fast in my area (Tampa Bay, FL). As far as voice quality...I don't really know. I only use minutes in an emergency ("Where's my pizza?!") or when talking to my parents (which I avoid these days).
Their customer service (in-store) has always been very nice and helpful, as well.

What's your monthly Bill?

Attn: Rogers Users - New 6GB Super Plan Available Now

Stumbled across this today. When I signed my contract with this phone back in April they were offering the same deal except ONLY 1GB of data. Now for the same price ($60/mo) you can have all calling features currently offered with the old $60 plan but also with 6GB of data! They're only offering it until August 8th, so act quick if you want to get in on this deal.

I had this plan already but it was $10 more, so I switched it . It is an LTE plan. I also have half-price voicemail & call display from the promo they had a few months back
I had just switched to this plan as well. I had the old $30 6gb data plan but it didn't work on LTE.
Now we get 6gb of LTE data! Amazing!!
Tack on $7 mini call display and voicemail and I'm looking at $67 before tax. Not too shabby.

it's actually a combo plan,

my 10 canada wide
unlimited evening from 6 pm
mini voice mail ( 3 voice mails)
for 60
+ call display, call forward for 7
so 67 before tax
you can keep your bonus, but will lose all your discounts...
hope that helps
I'll be paying the 67$ for all of the below but I also have 20% discount still applied to the account plus a 5$ credit promo from my original signup 5yrs ago. Total 56.05$ I must say that this is a sweet deal.
Previously it was 78$ - the 20% - 5$ and I only had 1GB. Total vas 64.88$
I think it's a nice trade off.

There's unlimited messaging included.
I spoke to a rep who stated that tethering is not included.
Another rep told me that even though tethering was not included, I could still use wifi hotspot. (even though it's the same thing)
Regardless, as long as you're running a custom ROM you will never get charged for tethering.

Rogers doesn't charge for tethering, you're just required to have 1GB minimum in order to do it.
10 gb lte data
You guys missed the 10GB of LTE data option that they had a month ago. It was 50 dollar add on all you had to do was get a voice plan as well. I pay about $80 a month now and I really enjoy the 10 GB. I also have my 10, unlimited evenings and weekends, unlimited txts. I find complaining once and a while does wonders especially with rogers for some reason. Bell I never had any luck with but Rogers isn't bad.
Just called Rogers and switched to this awesome plan!
