It should of came with a MicroSD card in the phone.
The simplest method for rooting the phone? That depends on the person you talk to.
IMHO the simplest method can be found Here
However if you are comfortable with ADB and the commands uses the Ultimate guide found in the development section.
Thanks,i rooted already,i got their phone without one as I got it on craigslist.

well you have 2 choices for rooting choose 1 & read up on them don't just jump right in & start rooting or you might regret it if something goes wrong ya digg
1.HTC Inspire/DHD Hack Kit V10
2.HTC Inspire 4G Simple One Click
I did my homework and read up on both threads posted above (nearly took an entire month to catch up those massive threads).
I went with the simple one click. The entire rooting process was pretty straight forward, as long as you can follow instructions.
I did not encounter a single issue.
Not to sound like to big a **** but if you can't use search or even just do plain old research you probably should have someone root your device for you. It is a very easy device to root, it just takes a few more steps than most. Look into the hack kit.
Hack Kit is by far the best! ALso join the IRC chan for additional help on the fly

Moved as not development.
So where's the idiots guide to the hack kit? The instructions aren't written for true newbs like me.

actually, they are really reallly watered down. Just take your time and read the directions as your doing it.
Maybe to educated users. I didn't get a number back when I entered rev Cid. What should I see? I had to learn how use the command prompt before I started. Should I plug in the USB before or after I boot the phone? Format the SD in or out of the phone? Those are the details that I'm talking about.

I agree 100%. If you can follow directions you can root via Bubby's root setup. I did it this weekend without any issues at all.

Im planning on getting the sensation when it comes out and from the looks so far, the Sense UI that comes on the phone looks pretty good. Now after rooting 2 of my previous phones i plan on rooting my next. I was wondering will the sensation have stock with root. For example i used the z4root.apk on my vibrant and my phone had root on it but i still had the stock touchwiz UI. I then got to choose to load a custom rom on it. Will this be possible for the sensation?
No root for the sensation as of yet mate.

its easy but if you scared then you should probably not do it because scared leads to complacations
Not that I'm scared I don't panic or anything haha I mean is there more of a risk than other phones that are not HTC
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
Let's just say I'm completely new to android, the sensation is my first android and first smartphone, and I have no background in computer knowledge other than what normal people know and I successfully S-OFFed my phone first time. Just follow the guide very closely and you should be fine, although I should note that some parts are in my opinion poorly written probably because of editing the op.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
Really so I guess if I do everything as followed there should be nothing to worry about thanks.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
just follow the instructions carefully and youll be fine. this is my first android device and first time ever s offing my phone and i successfully did it my first try
In my opinion, it's not harder than rooting a device using SuperOneClick (that I guess you know if you've rooted some devices already)
I would even say it's easier to use AlphaRev tool than writting codes with adb to have temp-root^^
I think the only risk would be to disconnect while making it S-off
Finally I think it's less risky than flashing a rom or a radio
Hi noob here asking for help. I wanted to remove all the bloatware on my factory stock sensation any Chavez somebody can help a noob like me, plus any chance of overclocking the phone I've heard ot makes the phone run faster and smoother.

You need to root your phone to either freeze the apps via Titanium or by ViperBloat
Rooting your phone is really a good thing to do as it open your phone to changing, modifying and adding certain apps

Jhobert, I advise you to read and get very familiar with the process as it could brick your phone. Brick means that it won't work at all no matter what you do.
Just wanted to warn you and advise you to do a lot of reading.

I would suggest downloading and flashing one of the NO-SENSE scripts in the Dev section or using ViperBloat to remove all the uneeded bloatware!

Can you UNINSTALL the bloatware apps or will that mess things up?
Also, where is ViperBloat? I am searching the dev forums but don't see it, unless it is a very old thread.

Hi I had to send my HTC inspire 4g back in for warranty purposes so I had to go back to stock to send it in.
I rooted it when I first got the phone and iT was on froyo and I have been looking through the forums but I see a lot of rooting formats for froyo. I don't want to try one of these and brick my phone so can anyone tell me how to root on 2.3 please?
