Root inspire 4g. On gingerbread - HTC Inspire 4G

Hi I had to send my HTC inspire 4g back in for warranty purposes so I had to go back to stock to send it in.
I rooted it when I first got the phone and iT was on froyo and I have been looking through the forums but I see a lot of rooting formats for froyo. I don't want to try one of these and brick my phone so can anyone tell me how to root on 2.3 please?

VISIONary.apk will not turn s=off, you have to manually do it.
There are several threads in the Development section on this.

NOTHING will appear to have changed when rooting a phone. The only difference is you will notice a "super user" icon appear on the screen. Has a little Android Head and Cross-bones. What exactly are you expecting it to do or look like?
The head and crossbones but it doesn't show up

[Q] Rooting the Stock 2.3.3 Rom

Hey all,
I just bought an Inspire today and am very satisfied with it so far, but I would love to know if there is any way to root the stock 2.3.3 Rom that came with the phone. I didn't update it myself, it came pre-loaded with Gingerbread. I would like to root because I want to be able to get a Rom running that has Sense 3.0. Sorry if this question has already been asked, but I couldn't seem to find anything while sifting through plenty of threads...lol. Thanks again guys!
Yes use the hack kit

The instructions are there, just read and follow them you will be fine. Most questions are answerEd in the thread. Its pretty simple even though it seems overwelming.
I was really skerd when I started, but after doing it was I realized I stressed over nothing.
Good luck with it and enjoy.

An ruu is a rom update utility. Basically u plug ur phone in and click start. The ruu flashes the phone back to stock.

Use this link it will take you through the whole process of unrooting and putting a phone back to a stock rom. Since I can't post any http information you will have to add that or google the information.

[Q] New to Inspire and have a question

Hi, I'm coming from an LG thrill ... and I was just wondering when I'm installing custom roms, am I able to just download them directly from the phone and flash in recovery, or do I need to download them on the pc and manually place in the root of the sdcard to install. I'm sorry if this was already asked but Ive been searching all morning for an answer and can't seem to find one, and I don't really wanna brick my phone in anyway lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks !!!

You can flash desire hd roms as well on the inspire. With some of the roms you may need to flash a seperate fix, but usually they are already incorporated in the rom. They are usually stated in the op.

Are you rooted and s off? If not I'm very sorry to say you can not go back. However if you are rooted yes you most certainly switch back to Gingerbread if you like. If your really hateing it you CAN root and revert back to Gingerbread after your successful in rooting. You might want to even try a Ics Rom. I've found them to be a lot more stable than stock Rom. I was having issues on stock and once I rooted and installed custom Rom the issue went away.however only do what your comfortable doing. I wish you the very best in what ever you're decisions.

O well thank you guys for helping out!

The reason everything is force closing is because it needs a factory reset. My sisters SGSII did the same, i noticed when i reflashed the ota update for her it didnt wipe at all and all the apps force closed
