I Am clueless on how this happened and on how to fix it, one day I turn on my gtablet, running Vegan 5 without the supplement package, and instead of everything opening up normally, an interface came up telling me that ADW launcher has stopped working and shortly afterwards a bunch more force closes scattershot at me. . . I reset it, same thing, I rebooted from clockwork, same thing. . . What do I do? Do I repartition the sdcard?

Had similar with TNT. Used titanium backup to wipe app data. Didn"t lose anything in the process.

i am trying to run CM7 and everytime i reboot the phone never starts and i get this error. i can fix this by formatting the cache and all but still it is a pain.
any help out there?
( i reflashed the rom and nstead of using titanuim to restore my apps i did them manually through the market and also downloaded the google apps from the market individually and so far i am doing great. i rebooted the phone 5 times straight and all is working well. i am going to go out on a limb and say that my problem is solved. i hope i helped someone with the same problem)
also if a mod wants to remove this post you aren't hurting my feelings. thanks guys your all the best !!!!!
So... sometimes when I install a custom rom I will use it for a week, then it will just start force closing everything (Keyboard, facebook, etc.) So I did some research, and from the G1 CyanogenMod wiki I found this...http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=DangerSPL_and_CM_5_for_Dream
(Look under troubleshooting and wipe)
I'm not sure if this applies to us, but apparently if we wipe the Dalvik Cache and reinstall the ROM it fixes the problem. I recently switched to Andromeda and I haven't had the "Force close of death" Problem since I started doing the following DIRECTLY AFTER flashing a new rom:
1) Go to ClockworkMod Recovery
2) Go to advanced whatever (I don't have my phone with me, sorry I can't be more helpful with menus =/
3) Select wipe Dalvik cache
4) reinstall the ROM (For me, andromeda) through cwm recovery, and presto! those nasty force closes are gone. I tested this with Cognition, which was what was giving me the force closes and convinced me to switch to Andromeda, and the FC problem was solved!
Sorry if this was already posted somewhere, I DID search the forum and saw nothing on this exact problem so yeah, here ya go! Let me know if I forgot a step/am completely wrong. All I can say is that this worked for me.
Hopefully this helps someone!
Damn, I've only had 999998 Force Closes, so I guess it doesn't apply to me.
Just kidding, I'll have to try this next time.

Haha yeah. I noticed it usually happens after leaving my phone on for more than a day, then turning it off and charging it, then turning it back on. It seems like it only wants to charge when it's turned on or else it's "force close this" and "force close that"
Alot of the custom roms wipe the dalvik cache when they're installed I think. It can be put in the update script.

This is a noobish question. We have a htc inspire 4G that's been stuck in a loop trying to update Adobe flash 10.3 and is using up data like crazy. There seems to be no way to stop it. Any suggestions?
Have you tried uninstalling it then reinstalling 10.2?

So you're saying that in market, you see that striped green progress bar indicating it's downloading/updating and it never seems to start doing anything/ finish?
If that's the case, I've solved that one by unchecking "update automatically," cancelling the download, back out a couple of screens, then to the apps page in market and push update.
That usually gets the download to actually start downloading, and finish.
I don't know if this will work in your situation. Please be as specific as possible when describing issues you are having. It makes troubleshooting much easier to do.
Thanks for your replies. We have tried uninstalling it, in both cases we get a progress bar that never ends. In the case of an uninstall it only allows us to uninstall the updates and says it is a system app as why.
It will not let us stop the download. We have tried stopping data connections and then uninstalling the updates, but to no avail. Even when the device is offline, the uninstall progress bar keeps going as if stuck in a loop just as happens with the install from market.
For the record, this is a completely unmodded device.
this happened to me also. i went to menu/settings/aplications/manage aplications/found the market app and then cleared cache and data. then opened app back up and proceded with the download. it worked for me

You'll need to stop the process on that screen first before you clear the cache. I've had to do this with several apps so it's a good workaround to be familiar with.
Thanks for the tips. This is what I did:
1. Put the device in airplane mode to stop the download.
2. Rebooted.
3. Went into settings/applications/manage applications and cleared the cache and data
4. Rebooted again
5. Returned to settings/applications/ manage applications and selected uninstall updates
Same result. It was stuck trying to uninstall.
Edit. Actually, it is worse than i thought. As a control i tried downloading an update from a different app after i stopped the Adobe flash update. - same result. Then i tried to download a random free app. - it won't download. Then i tried to uninstall an app. - it got stuck on the progress bar. So, the problem seems to be system wide.
Anyone ever heard of something like this?
I'm having this problem where sometimes after I reboot my G2x (running HellFire Phoenix V2.1 with the kernel already included) it would start back up with the "Touch Android to begin" screen as if I just did a fresh install and then nearly all my applications would start Force Closing on me.
I'm not sure what is causing this. My applications that we're previously installed all force close when I try to open it, and the Play Store is back to Market. My saved Google account is erased as well. Any ideas? It's beginning to get very annoying to have to wipe my phone and reinstall everything all over again.

have you tried actually going in and wiping /data and /cache before re-flashing the rom to see if it helps? if not, try that.
if its only happening to you on that rom, try flashing another.
if none of this works for you, then use This tool.

I always use the Nullifier application before installing the rom, yet I'm still having this weird problem. I'm going try that other wiping method and see how it goes. Thank you !
Downloads of gapps/ROM might be at fault also. If wiping doesn't solve it for you then you should re-download them.

If you are using the APEX launcher instead of the Sence launcher DO NOT install the update that came down today for the apex launcher. It causes a fatal stop responding error. Clear all the caches did not work. The only thing that ended up working was a factory reset. If you happen to have a backup from a couple days ago that will work too.
Please get the word out, I don't have enough spam posts to post in the development thread but people need to know before they lose their phone setups and have to start all over.
*It has come to my attention that other custom ROM users are experiencing similar things as this. Be Aware!*

Have u sent a pm to the dev of the Rom letting him know the issue you were having? That way if there is a problem he can look into for the other users.
Its true for any ICS ROM. I'm on stock 2.20 and the update killed it.
EDIT: The developer released an update and it fixes the FC.

You can do this.. remove/uninstall older version using titanium backup, try installing new version ( try manually pushing apk to /system/app if you still have issues)

Hmmm, that would require some in-depth CMD prompt knowledge with ADB. Since the error crashes the Launcher there is no way to access the phone anymore. It just continue to crash loop. I did however find that if you left the use this every time between Sense and APEX you can switch to Sense and then access your phone. If you checked it then the only way I found to correct the problem is a format or back-up pre APEX update.
Now my Nocturnal Apps / Mods are gone and reinstalling after factory reset corrupted the load again and I have to factory reset again. I didn't delete the SD card might have something to do with that. Either way, they'll fix this soon enough or NSE 3.8 might be out soon for upgrade.
