I'm Chinese, so my English is not that good, and I'll try to explain it clearly.
I have a epic, and use the official EB13, this afternoon, when I was trying to create a short cut of a website to my home screen, this happened suddenly:"Sorry! the application TwLauncher (process com.sec.android.app.twluancher)has stopped unexpectedly. please try again"
It comes out again and anain, I have to turned off my phone and restart it, but it still comes out, I then tried to take the battery out, but it doesn't work.
Now every time I try to go to the home screen, the phone just vibrate and come out the sign:"Sorry! the application TwLauncher (process com.sec.android.app.twluancher)has stopped unexpectedly. please try again", and this sign appeared again and again so I can't use it. Phone and message works but I can't go into the home screen so I can't open other applications...
As I've installed a lot of applications , I don't want to use Odin, is there a way to fix this problem?
By the way, even if I want to use odin , I can't download the "SPH-D700-EB13-8Gb-REL.tar.md5".In China, many websites such as youtube, facebook and twitter are forbidden, and multiupload.com is one of them, so I can't download it...
It's 22:46 in China now, and my school is going to cut off the electricity, I'll come back tomorrow.I really appreciate it very much if any of you can help me.

Launcher Pro works great! Thank you very much!
But I can't delete TW Launcher yet, I find a video in youtube, but as I've said, I can't see it...
Now everything works well. I go into the settings, choose all, find twlauncher, force stop, clear data. then I come to the home screen, and it works again!
But I find that I like Launcher pro better now ~_~

So I was trying to edit my home screens, delteting them to start from scratch. The process was laggy. Then I got a Force Close screen
Sorry!
The application ADW.Launcher (process android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Dumpstate_app_201008261031_android_process_acore.log has been saved. Use *#9900# to copy out log

I hit Force Close --- and the Force Close Screen comes on again

and again
Turn the phone off and on, FC screens again
reboot in safe mode FC again
How do I get my phone back?
I just tried to reboot again and now I have the yellow robot sweeping "Downloading" screen.
I really did nothing strange. Did ADW.launcher just brick my phone?
Basically, I can't do anything. I tried deleting cach. Deleting user data. Nothing on the recovery screen changed anything.
The phone boots up and gets to the locked screen, but as soon as I swipe to unlock the endless loop of ADW.launcher force close screens begins.
Kill ADW.launcher!
Nothing? Oh well.
Odin3 One Click Stock Rom. Should get you all back to usable. Personally I haven't had ANY issues with the ADW.Launcher and I've done all sorts of weird things on my phone. I didn't like LauncherPro.

EDIT: had to put the space in http cuz the damn things won't let me post links yet =p
Thank you so much for the response. I've seen the posts about Odin before, but I didn't know what it was, or else I would have went right there. It seems to have worked, getting back to the stock set-up. Thanks!
Definitely not going to reinstall ADW. I liked it but it just went berzerk on me.
Hello, This is my first post. I have the vanilla GTAB with the 2 updates that were automatically loaded last Dec. & Jan. I frequently get force closes. Today when I booted the gtab, I had it connected to my pc, but I clicked 'hide' at the activate usb prompt. Then the usual force close occured in Launcher pro. At the same tiime there was a prompt that said something like "which app to use for this action" 1) desktop or 2) launcher pro. Since I thought I already set this to Launcher pro, I selected Launcher pro, and (this is the important part, I think) I checked the box to make this the default action. I had done this before so I didn't give much thought to it.
Well, the device immediatel began looping between to 'force closes' that look similar: 1) The application LancherPro (process android.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Pleas try again; and then the second half of the loop is 2) The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Note that in #2 it doesn't refer to LauncherPro.
I rebooted the ddevice and it immediately goes into the same loop.
Is there any way out of this? I can't help thinking it is caused by making the failing app (Lpro) the default action. How do I get the prompt back? Or have I bricked this gtab?
I was able to activate usb support between loops, so I have backed up all my data to my pc (whew!), but I can't get the device to do anything on it's own, other than loop. I do not have a recovery file or any of the suggested clock??? utilies. This is a completely vanilla device. Therefore booting with recovery (power + vol +) just comes up and enters the same loop.
Sorry if this is long winded, but I want to hear any advice before I follow Viewsonic cust support's instructions to ship it to them for a hardware reset. TIA, -Jim
Try Fix Permission in the Recovery. I face this problem every now and then and could not find a better permanent solution . Its really painful at times. It usually happens when my Gtab awakes from a long sleep (like remaining in standby for overnight).
I just experienced the same problem the other day. It is my third time with all the loops and force close and android.process.etc.etc. Unfortunately the GTab with the stock OS has this troublesome issue. I followed the instructions to install clockworkmod (CM) restore to stock with the 3389 mods, and now when it happens I boot into CM and first try and clear the cash and if that dosen't fix the problem then I do the wipe data/ factory reset option which is a pain, but if you have backed up everything you are back up and running with everything restored in less than 15 minutes. Do a quick search and you will find the CM solution to get your tablet back.
Hope this helps! I think everyone who has this device has gone through it. I guess for the price what can you expect, $799 for a XOOM without flash or $350 for the Gtab with flash and some issues. There is always a trade off.
Thanks VERY MUCH for the replies. So minardml, it seems you have done the factory reset yourself. Is there instructions for this online? You took the back off the unit to do it? I will search for the CM solution. Also, kshwetabh, you are right it had been several days since I used the gtab. Could you explain how to "try fix permission in the recovery?"

@newbieJim, before wiping cache or factory resetting try Fixing permission option. It always works for me.
1. Reboot system into Recovery (Shutdown. Press and hold Volume Up(+) button and press Power button.
2. Select "advanced" ( scroll the options using Volume up/down button). Press Home button when on "advanced" option
3. Select "Fix Permissions".
This will take a while (depending on the packages/apps installed). Note that you will not see any progress bar. Once complete simply reboot.
Hope this helps . I don't know how the system looses permissions but somehow it does.

Sorry if I led you to think that I took the back off as I did not do that. The options that I was refering to are in the menu of clockworkmod. If you haven't found the fix I was talking about (installing CM) post again and when I get home later today I will see if I can find it. I think I may have bookmarked it on my laptop.
I just keep the home button prompt on. it seems to prevent 90% of FCs and also improved the screen lag i was getting.
it may be another step, but it's less of a pain the the ass in the end.
Once again thx to all. I will attemp recovery again, but I don't have high hopes because, as I said, the loop happens even in recovery (or safe) mode. IOW, I cannot get to any menu or screen.... Only the loop. I do not think I can install any new app., but I will try tomorrow when I return.
ok well yesterday I installed launcher pro. to try it out and I froze the stock launcher. last night I shut it off to charge and when I tried to power it on I was stuck on the G2x splash screen. so I tried vol down + power to restore it and now I can start the phone and get into the lock screen but when I unlock it. it won't load the launcher did I destroy my phone?
ok, I got it back. After I got a text I clicked attach then I could open astro from there I installed launcher apk I had on my sd card
lol

I had something similar happen. Go to setting/applications/launcher and clear the "launch by default" field on all the launchers. It will bring back all the choices.
I suppose I should add "if anything" to the question ...
I have a Galaxy Stellar, rooted, using Titanium Backup.
Problem is:
When I slide the pulldown menu to get access to the status bar, the help tip box pops up to explain how I can tap a button to turn a function on or off. If the "Do not show again" box is marked and I hit the OK button, there is about a 5-10 second pause and a box comes up that says "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped", after which it will go back out to the home screen and another 5-10 second pause later it all seems to go back to normal. However, if I leave the box unmarked and hit the OK button, there is no problem, except that I have to hit the OK button every time I pull the status bar down.
Is there an app and/or function that I can freeze to prevent the help tips from popping up at all? I have already frozen (and defrosted) the Help app.
you can either do a clean install, OR using root explorer (or another app that does the job), navigate to /data/data/com.android.systemui/shared_prefs and delete the file there (there should only be one file in that folder)
then just reboot and it should be fine

Thanks for the reply ... found the folder okay, but there were no files in it, just an empty Lib folder.
Looks like I'll have to flash back to the out of the box ROM because even the factory reset didn't fix the problem ... although it's still in the warranty period so I might bring it back to stock and return it.
I recently got a Huawei P9 smartphone, and everything worked perfectly fine with Hola Launcher (which i used on my old Samsung S5 too) but after updating to EMUI 5, everything went wonky. I've gone to settings - apps... and so on, to where you set your primary launcher, and tick Hola Launcher on, same drill as usual. But then my home button stopped reacting, and the slide down bar keeps flashing the Hola logo over and over, as if EMUI 5 was fighting Hola Launcher. I am completely unable to go back to the home page, unless i go back to the Huawei theme. If i go to my active apps i can use the home button, but it just goes to an empty home page, with nothing at all. I really want Hola Launcher to work for me, if anyone has any ideas, please help

It seems that i was wrong
I suggest you try using another luncher like nova and then reply back with the results as it will help to diagnose the problem
