anyone know the file that needs to be changed??
+1 I was wondering this too. would be nice to have the original HTC boot up
i got rid of mine by flashin a Stock rom
Ye you cant just change files for the bootl splash screen. The current HSPL doesnt support flashing of just boot screens. As is said, flash a stock rom and it will replace it with the "HTC Quietly Brilliant" boot splash then you can flash a ROM of your choice.
HSPL
I have an O2 Leo, I needed the upgrade because my SMS had stop working, I highly recommend using HSPL then putting the official 1.66 ROM upgrade on. It's a lot faster and will give you the default HTC boot image. If you do decide to upgrade make sure you back up everything first, using Microsoft MyPhone is a good way to do this.
i just flashed duttys 0.8 2.07 rom, the o2 boot logo is still there ?
You need to flash a stock HTC ROM not a cooked ROM..
yes, you have to flash an official rom...they will clean up your memory and install the original hd2 boot screen
I did change my wallpaper to a new one but I have flashed since then and cant find the instructions on what to rename the file to get it to show as a lock background?? ohand were to put it?
Anyone?
Phone: Telus HTC Desire
Well, I followed the guide for the HTC Desire on the Cyanogen Mod website but I did not get all the way through, I have installed ClockworkMod Recovery in ROM Manager, but when I try to go into ClockworkMod Recovery to flash radio, my Desire restarts and shows a black screen with nothing on it, the phone is rooted though.
Any help ?
Sounds like you put the wrong recovery image on your phone. What image did you use? there are two that work good for Telus Desires. One is a custom 2.5.0.1 image and the other is 2.5.0.7. Look here for working images:

Can I recommend that you do not use ROM Manager for your Desire. RM work awesome for other devices but it is hit and miss with the Desire. I always reboot into recovery and flash manually.
so i tried to flash iced glacier and wiped out all the data and cache and what not. but when i tried to turn it on it didnt work. so i went back to recovery and tried to restore to my back up it gets stuck on the startup screen how can i get it back to stock rom or any rom to get the phoen running again? im using clockworkmod recovery v3.0.0.5 thanks get back i need help im new to this.
Ok, don't panic, easy fix to this. Clockwork version 3.0.0.5 is only compatible when flashing gingerbread rom's (CM7, RoyalGinger, etc.), not froyo (Iced Glacier, Stock, etc.). So what you are going to need to do is put CM7 since you can only flash a gingerbread rom on your sd card and flash that. Give it a test drive, you might like it. If you still want to go to Iced Glacier, you need to flash clockwork mod 3.0.0.6 which will enable you to flash between froyo and gingerbread freely. This is available in the MT4G android development forum on this site, it is not available through rom manager, but there is a nice little walk through that makes it simple. And like I said, don't panic, your phone is 100% fine.
ok i am going insane right now cuz i have no idea if my phone is completly done for so im asking for your help.... first i had dl ROM manger and had reboot into recovery, then in recovery i backup my phone, then after all that i flash a zip file and reboot system.....when it turn back on it just went to the mytouch 4g startup and then turn off and back on, over and over... so i try to recover, factory rest, and all that stuff and nothing work all it did was stay stuck on that screen.....so can anyone please help me out..i really appreciate it and please help me!!!!
-thanks
Ok, not a big deal, you are probably just using the wrong recovery for the ROM you flashed. I'm assuming you flashed recovery version 3.0.0.5 in clockworkmod because that is the latest one. When using this recovery you have to flash a 2.3.3 (gingerbread ROM) such as CM7. If you were trying to flash a 2.2 (Froyo ROM) such as Iced Glacier, or the stock ROM, you will get the boot loops. What you can do is flash CM7, which is a great ROM by the way. This will at least let you use your phone. Then you can go to the HTC Glacier forum on XDA, go into the android development section, and flash recovery version 3.0.0.6 which will allow you to flash back and forth between gingerbread and froyo. It is not available through ROM manager since we have one of the very few phones that need different recovery versions to flash back and forth.

ok thank you but how do i dl the froyo rom cuz i cant seem to dl the link, sorry for the noob question im just new to this phone
Ok, like I said, the first step is to get the 3.0.0.6 recovery which is the only way you will be able to download a froyo based ROM. If you want to go back to stock, you should unroot, because stock and root do not get along well on the MT4G. As far as a froyo based ROM, you can flash Iced Glacier or Royal Glacier which are stock based just faster and without all of the T-Mobile bloat apps. But if you are not familiar with ADB and Fastboot, you will need to flash a gingerbread ROM first. You should really be reading in the MT4G/HTC Glacier section of XDA, you will find answers to all of your questions. And like I said, don't panic, your phone is fine, and it is an easy fix.

sorry very new to this but thanks alot, i highly appreciate the help..but i have one more question if i format my sd card will it effect my custom rom and everything, like if i happen to start it back up
I am somewhat new to this, I've been rooted for a while but finally got tired of the stock annoying stuff. I downloaded rom manager and kernel manager. I wanted to see if it worked so I flashed my kernel, it says its installed but it doesn't do a thing and when I do a reboot the menu still notes the original kernel. Wth!!!! And when I tried to do the cm7 rom it gets to the point where it tells me to restart recovery and it freezes on the HTC startup screen. I have to remove the battery to reboot it normally. Why is it doing this??? I have a stock rooted HTC EVO shift 4G. I do not have nand unlocked.

I'm no expert here, but I believe this has something to do with not having a custom recovery. Have a look in the EVO section for threads relating to amon-ra and ClockWorkMod (CWM). Hopefully this will help you around the recovery issue and allow you to flash your kernel.
Good luck!
just a thought mate.... you do know that you need to do a full wipe before installing CM7 & also make sure your using "Clockwork 3*** with CM7" & "not Clockwork 2*** with CM7" or you will get a bootloop!
Hope this helps
