Mytouch 4g best OC settings - myTouch 4G General

Hey so I was wondering what an appropriate level for min and max were on setcpu and I was looking for pretty decent battery life. Enough to get me through the day.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App

To be honest, I have mine set to 806 max, 245 min ondemand. The 806 provides plenty for everyday tasks, and I can oc up to 1.7ghz on the rare occasion I play a 3D game.

i run 1209max 368min...i get decent life as well...for example i just charged my phone lastnight after getting 1 day 16 hours on a single charge and that was with moderate use
plus everyones phone is going to be different....what works for me isnt always going to work for you and vice versa

Mine is more directed toward battery life, but there is alittle OC in there and it lasts me almost 2 days. (with gps on)
screen off priority 100: 368 max, 245 min
charging priority 90: 1516 max, 245 min
battery < 27% priority 70: 368 max,245 min
battery < 60% priority 60: 768 max, 245 min
battery < 70% priority 50: 1113 max, 245 min
default is 1209 max, 245 min
hope this helps!

Unless you are trying to impress your friends with crazy high quadrant scores, the STOCK or lower frequency will give you better battery life as well as easier on the CPU.
personally i keep mine @ 1018/238 via the native governor in the Cyanogen settings.

Unless i am playing some kind of heavy 3d game I keep mine on the interactive gov clocked @ 768/245

I keep mine at 1209 max 245 min with moderate use I can get up to a day & a half without charging.....

There is no such thing as the best settings for OCd phones. Every chipset is different and will react differently to the load you place on it. The only thing that is certain is that on ondemand and interactive governors, having too big of a spread between max and min, will freeze your phone. Find what works for you and stick to it

[Q] What are your ideal setCPU setting?

Max 1200000
Min 1000000
On demand
Profiles
Temp > 50.0 C 400 max 200 min (enabled)
Screen Off 400 max 100 min (enabled)
Charging 1200 max 1000 min (disabled)
Battery < 50% 1000 max 800 min (enabled)
Is this good? It seems like it lags because with on demand, it seems to go down to 100000 and 200000 from time to time but most of the time, it's fine.
That probably will lead to more battery hours though instead of always keeping it at above 1000000 using performance scaling.

I'm running netarchy 1.3.0.5 CFS with stock 2.3.3 ROM.
I don't use profiles if I use setcup with his kernel. Profiles seems to slow things down and drain more battery on the nexus s. If I use this kernel with cm7 then i don't use setcpu at all. I use the built in cpu control in the performance tab.
i dont use any profiles, i find them to cause a lot of trouble

So if you were to only use the main setting, what would be ideal max/min and scaling?
Right now, I have 1200 max, 1000 min on-demand scaling.

mines currently 100 mhz 1000 mhz ondemand. ive never played around with it because battery life is amazing already, so i dont want to mess with it.

I'll try that setting and see. It seems like there is a problem with XDA premium app. I've had three occasions when I open XDA, it force closes, that also force closes launcher.
Hmm..
Other than that 100 min 1000 max seems smooth with all profiles disabled.

Try fixing permissions in clockwork / rom manager.
Wiping cache and dalvik isn't too bad either. you don't lose anything

[Q] SetCPU vs. Voltage Control, and what are some recommended settings?

My understanding is most people prefer Voltage Control, but SetCPU allows for specific under/overclocking profiles that can increase performance without killing battery life.
If someone could direct me to popular, trusted settings, I'd appreciate it. I'm not a heavy user or power user, so I'm looking for something that just works well. I don't care about benchmarks and things of that nature.
I'm sure this has been discussed, but I was unable to find posts that didn't concern user-specific issues.
Thanks,
Wyatt

That's really all it comes down too...experimenting and finding out what works best on YOUR phone with YOUR configuration...
GOOD LUCK!
ps... have been very stable with OC'd to 1.4
-25 down too 200
-100 on 100
bfq and conservative
I use VControl myself...i like the UI.
For Performance: 100-1.4GHZ (1.5 works too, but is WAY overvolted, and 1.6 is extremely unstable), -100mV from 100-1000 MHZ, -75 for 1.1-1.4GHZ.
For "Battery Life": (i really don't see a difference...) 100-800 MHZ (anything below 800 is painfully slow), -100mV across the board.
I leave schedulers and governors at their stock settings, the only time I change anything is to set the gov. to Performance on Performance for max Quadrant scores.

How many Mhz levels are you selecting? In my experience anything above 5 and it WILL NOT clock up to the higher settings. Maybe thats why you notice no difference in battery life?
For instance if you had say 100, 200, 400, 800, 1000 and 1400 you will reace 1000mhz only
if you had 100, 200, 400, 800, 1400 you would reach the 1400mhz. ive tried many combos and 5 or less was the max it would use (voltage control app, im sure setcpu would most likely be the same)
How many slots does the imnuts kernel support?

I started using SetCPU, and I think I prefer it.
Quick question, it seems like rebooting is unnecessary for the changes to take effect, is that true?
Overclocking definitely worked. I got 1853 @ 1200mhz in Quadrant, up from 1600.
Edit: now 2025 @ 1300mhz / 1300mhv
2nd Edit: Late last night, I was using a stability test in one of the apps, but I can't for the life of me remember which app or how I found it. Now I'm using StabilityTest from the market. What's a safe cpu temp for these phones? I'm getting 32 degrees under full load in an air conditioned environment.

I just switched over to Setcpu as well. It seems to work better for me also. I can now select 6 levels instead of the 5 before in voltage control and I also noticed that the set on boot on voltage control did NOT work but it DOES work in setcpu!! Im happy!
Haven't tried Setcpu yet, but I preferred Pimp my CPU over VC when I was using Miui on the Fascinate.

[Q] Overlocking Values in SetCPU?

I have at max: 1200 MHz ,at min 83 and in typeerformance, are these values corecct or wrong for a custom rom?
-Greeting-
PD:Andro's Rom (3 days for release)
Yes, or no, because you need a screen off profile or your battery life will be damn short.
I think this should be in the general section and i recommend using the conservative governor over the performance since conservative goes to the minimum frequency when phone is not being used i.e. when screen is off. This is best for performance since it automatically goes to the maximum frequency when screen is on and when screen is off it goes to the minimum which is good for battery.
1200 is too high....
It will damage your battery....
I use 100 MHz to 800 MHz....
Its average and most of the users use the same....

I think that is a very wise thing to do. I shall see how my phone runs at that speed.
Oks.thx.
Now:
MAX:800
MIN:83
Type: Conservative.
Are these values correctly now?

That frecuency will eat your battery.
I use my SetCPU at frecuencies 400-800Mhz, and use profiles for screen off (83-400Mhz), battery <20% (200-600Mhz), time (2am-6am) (83-83Mhz powersave)
always on demand (except time profile)
Greetings
My config is
Main 400-800 Mhz Ondemand Set on boot
Profiles
Temp >45°C 200-500 Mhz priority 100 Ondemand
time 2am-6am 83-83 Mhz priority 95 powesave
screen off 83-500 Mhz priority 90 Ondemand
Battery <20% 200-600 Mhz priority 80 Ondemand
I have g3mod 2.0 OC kernel
Greetings
I just use basic settings, no profiles or anything. Look in my signature.
I may add a few profiles after my lil bro is finished playing games on my phone.
My battery temp is 39 degrees Celsius is it that a good tempeture?
anything between 83 and 800 would work like charm and enough for day to day tasks..use conservative governor..set profile for screen off and on call..

[Q] SETCPU?

i aleary set cpu to max 1.8ghz and min 1.6ghz how to st it?? i did try to set it too 1.8mina nd max but my phone hangs and powerd-off!!! how to set it?!
Hey. I wouldnt recommend your current srtup at all unless you want horrible battery life and massive amounts of heat however i sont have an answer for your predicament, try using another app with the same function?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
listen to me. set it like I say:
max frequency 1512
min frequency 384
governor interactive
go to profiles and create a new profile. set:
screen off
max 432
min 192
governor conservative
priority 100
this way you have a good performing phone and with screen off a power saving profile. with this configuration I have 15 hours battery (enough for a day) of mid use...with data activated and live wallpaper
Nice stats ! I'm going to try that!
Sent from my Sensation 4G using xda premium
Some phones can handle higher frequency then others if your phone can't go over 1.8 well there is nothing you can do..
Swyped From My Sensation.
I SET IT TO this But anyway i don't care battery life
Dont OC much
dude that's friggin gih frequency's. Dont push it too hard, it'll do no good to the processor. Besides, what do you need that kind of power for ? Runing Crysis ?

SetCPU - using it? what are YOUR settings?

Hi guys! I just got a Skyrocket and I rooted it and threw Sky ICS on there first day. Still cycling the battery but it's been great yesterday. From 8am-9pm yesterday was what I got, at 9 pm it was completely dead 0%. Not bad for the first time! During that time I GPS'd for 50 minutes, did web browsing, installed some apps, sent and received a lot of text messages, and talked on the phone for about 10-15 minutes. Never put it on the charger the entire day.
Been using SetCPU and here are my settings:
Clock max 1350 MHz
Clock min 192 MHz
Profiles:
Screen OFF
Priority 60
Clock max 432 MHz
Clock min 192 MHz
Battery >=50*C
Priority 55
Clock max 756 MHz
Clock min 192 MHz
Battery <= 20%
Priority 50
Clock max 702MHz
Clock min 192 MHz
Battery <= 50%
Priority 45
Clock max 918MHz
Clock min 192 MHz
Battery <= 80%
Priority 40
Clock max 1188MHz
Clock min 192 MHz
So far everything has been running very smooth. Even when waking it up from sleep it comes right up and is very snappy already. Does anyone else use SetCPU? If so what settings do you use that could help improve my battery even more?
Aside from gps, my battery life is basically completely dependent on screen time. 4hrs a charge. Not much difference running badass 1500/192 or 1000/192, 4hrs give or take 15min.
Sent from my SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
What version of SetCPU are you using? I have v3 and there's an exclusivity option....any of these exclusive?
I don't have this option.... "Battery >" not even the equal sign...
does that make any difference?
