I upgraded yesterday and seem to have several issues I would love help on.
1. Lost my purchased ringtones
2. Lost my Beautiful Widgets (Problem loading widgets) on screen..I cleared the data and uninstalled and reinstalled and rebooted, still gone.
3. When I press the button left of the home button, Google search comes on instead of Settings ect.
How do I fix these problems?
Thanks,
Deb
Beautiful Widgets
Not sure about #1 and #3, but #2 is easy to fix: just remove Beautiful Widgets from your home screen, then add it back. This worked for me (using Launcher Pro)

are you long pressing the menu button? sometimes when the phone gets laggy it doesnt come up so people have a tendancy to hold the button longer then the long press function comes up which is search by default.
all purchased maket apps can be re downloaded once you log into the market account. trust me they are there and can be replaced free of charge. just go into market and click my apps. as for beautiful widgets, uninstall, then reinstall. uninstalling from the market will not remove your privlage to reinstall, if you are within the refund period it will ask you if you want a refund, if you say no you can redownload it as many times as you like.
EDIT: I have withdrawn any help I offered due to the OP sending me a whiny, insulting PM.

You don't have to reinstall launcher pro. You can download an app called Home Switcher from the market. Its free

yes i have home switcher and it does not fix this problem. still everytime i press home (bottom row below the samsung). I should also note this is a froyo phone.
I have a question regarding LauncherPro also. To be safe, should I disable it, or uninstall it, before updating to JF7? I just got my new phone few days ago and still on JF6..
I switched mine to twlauncher just to be sure.
corrected by starting phone in recovery starting with vol buttons pressed and then deleted user data. had to set up phone again but oh well
technut963,
If this happens to you again, in Froyo all you have to do is click settings, applications, manage applications, on the top bar click All, then go down and click TwLauncher, then clear default. Then hit the home button and you should be asked what one you want to use and set it as default again.
I simply setup a shortcut that links to Activities -> TwLauncher and one for LauncherPro on the phone. As for adjusting the default see above.

thank you very much. works great. This site is the greatest,
Hi All!
I had to do a factory reset of my phone tonight (Samsung Galaxy S Mesmerize, Froyo). After the reset, I downloaded a few of my apps (K9, Launcher Pro, Barcode Reader, Facebook). Everything seems to be working, except that when I launch my contacts app, and click the back button to exit, it takes me to a search screen for my contacts, and the only way to close them is to hit the home key.
A few things I've tried already:
1) Rebooting the phone.
2) Removing the shortcut and replacing it.
3) Replacing the shortcut with a shortcut to another app, then switching it back.
What else can I do to fix this?
I have the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy S Captivate. I am in the process of looking for a better contact app.
Whenever you open Google Maps for the first time after rebooting it works, but once closed it turns white. I've read somewhere on this forum that rebooting is the only way to fix it but I found an easier way. Press and hold the home button and then a list of windows will show. From there, press and hold the google maps window and remove it from the list. Re open google maps and it should work fine.
By the way I've extensively tested all ICS roms and I truly believe AOKP ROM has exceeded all expectations. It is definitely the most stable and definitely the fasted and smoothest rom available NOW. (3/15/12). Thanks for all your hard work.
press home, to go to launcher.
press home to go back to google maps.
fixed white screen for me without relaunching.

Yep.
All that needs to be done is going back to home screen, which leaves maps running in the background, then hit the icon again to bring it back up. Sort of like minimizing a window on your computer then restoring it.
When I place an icon on my home screen I am unable to remove it from the screen or uninstall it from the home screen.
Long pressing an icon does not reveal a remove or delete option. I have no idea how I've done this, and I can't figure a way to undo it. I have no third party launchers. I have restarted my phone. I have cleared the default launcher cache.
Any ideas? Thank you very much!
SOLVED: I didn't want to do it, but factory resetting fixed the issue. No idea what created my issue, but resetting fixed it. Thanks anyone who looked at this.

Have you tried to Long Press and move it? Then you should See the Option at the top of the Screen.

Long pressing does not work.
Long pressing and moving icons does not show a remove option on my home screen.
I have a suspicions that uninstalling Nova Launcher might have disabled the option? Or an OS update might have done it? I just bought the phone earlier this month. I use to be able to remove the icons. Just in the last few days, the option has gone away.
I try to place a widget on any screen weather, calendar and some more and they don't appear. I resetted One UI, but nothing works. Home screen is not locked. Any ideas ? Thanks !

What specific Note do you have and what carrier. Also did you set your phone up from scratch or copy data from another phone, if you copied data from another phone a FDR should fix the issue. Have you tried a reboot, that fixed a lot of these type of problems. I just long press on the home screen, select widgets, select the one I want and drag it to the home screen.

I live in Greece so... Note 20 Ultra with Exynos, set up from scratch with COSMOTE carrier. Resetted One UI 2.5, rebooted many times. I used the same procedure to add widgets but it doesn't work now. Can't place so far weather, calendar, Blue Mail, optimization and more that I will find on the way. No problem with KWGT widgets though...

Just wanted to say I'm jealous that you live in greece. That is all. I have nothing constructive to add.

The only other thing I can think of is to make sure "Turn "Off" the option "Lock Home screen layout", I know you said it was off but that's just about the only thing I can think of. You can also boot to recovery and clear the "cache partition", not a FDR just clear the cache.
Turn off the device.
Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby / Power key.
When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
An 'Installing system update' message may show briefly before the Android Recovery menu options appear.
Press the Volume down key several times to highlight Wipe cache partition.
Press Bixby / Power key to select.
Press the Volume down key to highlight Yes, then press the Bixby / Power key to select.
When the process is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
Press the Bixby / Power key to restart the device.
