I whipped this up last night and packaged it nicely in PC36IMG. zip format for your s-off flashing pleasure. I give you the Disclaimer Splash Screen, ladies and gents:
Download: http://min.us/mvkpb7W#1
I hope you like it.
Edit: Didn't even realize I neglected to put instructions.
S-OFF is a mandatory requirement here.
Download the PC36IMG.zip. DO NOT EXTRACT IT. Put it on the root of your SDcard and reboot into bootloader (power off, then power on holding volume down). It will look for and eventually find the pc36img and ask you if you want to apply it. Hit volume up for yes. Congratulations, you did it!
Very nice.
thats cool ****

Just flashed, worked great.
You need to include in OP that you must rename the file to PC36IMG.zip.

I really want this splash screen but also dont feel like turning m,y phone into a paperweight. can we use the custom splash screens?
You can do it, but I wouldn't use the insturctions he has there. I have another thread somewhere that has path names that you could push that file to. Then you can edit the boot.xml file and add the new file name. Its not very difficult and it probably won't brick you. I did however mess mine up and had to RUU when I was messing around with it. Still not sure what happened there.

The XML that controls the boot screen is not the Binary XML that's in the APK's and Manifest files. It's actually readable.

Edit: Guess should of put a little info up. This is just a boot screen. It has all the normal boot screens with the droid peeing on the apple as the last one. It's a signed zip file just download put on root of sd card, boot into recovery, flash like any other. Will work on 1.5 not sure on 2.1.
Here's the right color green droid.

I appreciate the bootscreen but I am wondering if we can actually change the splash screen (then one that shows HTC before the bootscreen starts up) or if the GSM hero just got lucky with hacking theirs.

I know they have an unlocked SPL by MoDaCo or Cyanogen that allows commands to change splash screens. If we booted into fastboot and tried it, our phones would turn into $180 paperweights.

Hey man I dont mean to be picky and im not the OP. But is there anyway to use a different image? The android pissing on apple is great but the android character is not green for some reason. The original link in the OP has a green guy.
Sorry if im being fussy
And just making sure its not my setup, did you make it to have the original hero animation, nexus, and the splash screen?

Yea, for some reason, it moves quick from the end of the NOW, when I've done the update, but in the original rom it stops there. Haven't changed anything within bootanimation.zip, so not sure what it does....

Had my tf700 for a few weeks. rooted while on ics. installed goomanager to make back up. installed rootkeeper. have not installed any roms. Tried several times to get into recovery mgr but kept getting the triangle. so, today, I upgraded to jb. checked rootkeep and everythng was good. everythng had been good until I just downloaded that worthless beats audio app. now I'm stuck with a circle going round and round and cant do anythng else. could really use some help with some steps to take to fix this thing. Try to go back into recovery by hold down volume down and power button until you see while text on the screen then release both buttons, now press the volume down button until the "wipe data" is highlighted, now press the volume up button twice to execute factory reset. Once done see if you can boot back into the OS.

Your bootloader/recovery image maybe corrupted. Next thing to do is to flash a full Asus firmware. This will wipe out your root.

Unzip the zip file downloaded from Asus site, the final file name should be "US_epad-user-10.4.4.16.zip", copy this file to the root of your micro sdcard. turn off your device, Insert the sdcard back into your device, boot into recovery, by default RCK should be highlighted, just hit the volume up button to execute the upgrade. If you have a red android, try to rename the file to "EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip" and try again. One thing that really bugged me is that wipe data (factory reset) did not work as normal, but ignore this for now.

You renamed it without the quotation right? like EP201_768_SDUPDATE.ZIP
Also make sure you don't have any other zip file(s) in the root of your sdcard.

If you want it to show the correct OS you need to edit the text file. VERY SIMPLE with a PC.
Credit is to captain throwback he said for me to share for Vzw m8

In the text file edit the mainver from 2.00.000.0 to 2.21.605.2 as i would for us but then I would have to mirror his download n I don't know if he would like that. Maybe I should ask him.
Or just use option 2 download an extract img proceed as normal.
Whoops I quoted you wrong in the wrong thread. ?
