Hi, I recently bought a 2GB MiniSD card for my Treo750v. When I put it into the system it worked fine, I installed some programs and put some music on. Then I left the phone alone for a while and the automatic keylock came on. When I returned to the phone and activated it from keylock the sound that is played when removing the card was heard and it reported that there was no card installed when there clearly was. To return the card to working order i had to remove and re-insert it. After that it was fine until keylock came back on and the same thing happened again!
Anyone got any ideas on why this is doing what it is doing!
Point to note, the card works perfectly in an HP device running WM5 and my Digital Camera!
I am starting to think this is a "problem" with the Treo because mine does the same with a 512mb card. Sometimes it wont be "seen" by the PDA but not a problem when put in my other pda.......
Jim
I get the same thing, also with a 2 gig card. But it happens only every other day or so. Still very annoying. Have no clue why this is happening.
I had the same trouble, too. But the trouble has already disappeared by replacement of 2GB mini SD to 1GB mini SD.
Remainning problem is that Spb pocket plus still cannot get application icons on storage card.
Went to a Vodafone store today and told them about the issue. They said it is a known issue and was a problem on a couple devices. They said if I would bring the box and invoice, they would exchange the device. Will do that in the next few days. Hope that solves it.
I have the same problem with my 512mb card and my 2Gig card. But I am in the U.S. and cant bring it in to Vodafone. Does anyone know what else can be done?
I should've did some homework and checked this forum before jumping on my 2GB which I bought 3 days ago. 'doh... I have the same issue here... except in the midst of playing with it, inserting and removing etc... all the data got corrupted. I have to figure out how to reformat the whole card.
Hopefully, there's a software fix later.
Hey
Thanks guys n gals for ur help!
magxs I might have to do the same!!!
Oh bum, silly silly smartphones! I just want something that works!
I've also been having problems with my Treo 750v and the miniSD card (2GB SanDisk Ultra II).
When I insert the card, the Treo sees it and can run programs that are installed on it. When I return the Treo after it has been off for a while the card is no longer recognised and the memory manager claims that no storage card is installed. At this point all I can do is either take the card out and reinsert it, or otherwise to a soft reset. The time it takes for the Treo to loose its connection to the card varies; sometimes I can turn it on after a few minutes and the card is gone, sometimes it still works after a couple of hours.
When I came across this discussion yesterday, I phoned up Vodafone and reported my issue. According to the customer service rep, this is not on their list of known issues but he agreed to an exchange anyway. I'll get the new device today. I hope that'll fix it, but by now have my doubts.
Someone else suggested formatting the SD card, citing issues with FAT16 vs FAT32. I might try that if the new Treo still suffers the same issue.
In another thread on this topic, someone reported that such an issue was observed on some other PPC device and was fixed by a ROM upgrade. I emailed Palm about it. Palm eventually got back to me today saying:
This may occur only with cards that are not Palm branded. If possible please try to use a Palm card to test it.

Either that's a lame excuse, or they're trying to force people into buying their overpriced own branded accessories by making their hardware incompatible with the industry standard. Unless SanDisk don't know how to make miniSD cards...
I guess my next step - after the reformatting - will be to throw £60 at a Palm branded storage card; I don't expect that would work any better than my current card, but at least then Palm can't argue that I'm using "unsupported hardware".
I exchanged my Treo yesterday at a different Vodafone store. The people there didn't know anything about SD card issues either, but they exchanged it anyway. Have been running the new device for about 24 hrs now and no issues, yet. But even on the first device, the problems only started later and even then it wasn't an everyday occurrence. So, I will need to watch it a bit longer.
new rom
Have you tried loading the Cingular ROM and see if it fixes this problem?
After two full days with my new Treo, the SD card was lost again over night. So, it doesn't seem to be an issue that just a few devices were affected by. Too bad....
I didn't try any other ROMs yet.
I have the Cingular ROM, and have the same exact problem.
hi,
i am new to this board and hope you dont mind my bad english. i am from germany and proud owner of a treo 750v
and i tell you what: i am so glad i am not alone with the storage card problem.
it was nearly making me mad.
now i know that there are a lot of other people with the same problem. that may not solve it but gives me a better feeling an hope for an update which solves that.
PS: i use a 1gb sandisk
Well It's working
I bought another MiniSD card the other day, a 512Mb Kingston one, and so far so good, it works well (about 5 days now) and has not been "lost" so far! Not sure if it's the size of card or the make or what but I will keep investigating this!
Hope you resolve your issues!!

What kind of card did you have issues with?
I get the feeling the this might be related to specific cards. To find out: please everybody state which card you are using and if you have problems.
I'm using Sandisk Ultra II 2GB and it's dropping out.
Thanks

i am using sandisc (normal) 1 gb and have the problems.
Card Type
Mine was a generic 2GB card bought on EBAY but the one that is working now is a Kingston 512MB card. The Generic 2GB works perfectly in my Digital camera. There are no Identifying marks on the 2GB card sadly so Cannot say for sure who makes it!
I'm also using a SanDisk Ultra II 2GB, and it's getting dropped regularly.
Sounds like SanDisk is the one to blame.
But would be good to have more reports before we all go out buying new cards. Keep em coming...
my htc hd7 driving me crazy and i tried many roms but still the same problem after 5 or 7 days of flashing the new rom my phone suddenly do a hard reset i lost many pictures and many other because of this can any one help me plz
Sounds very much like a hardware bug. I'd get the phone replaced under warranty if I were you.
Are you flashing stock ROMs or custom ones? The custom ones may be less stable than the stock, but you shouldn't be having the problem you describe anyhow. Does anybody else have access to the phone? It's entirely possible for kids to accidentlaly hard-reset the phone; it takes a little effort but less than you might think.
i flash custom roms and no one touch the except me and my phone warranty expired
It's entirely possible that the custom ROMs are buggy, and even slightly possible that they damaged the phone somehow (not likely, but possible). Have you tried flashing a stock ROM and seeing if the problem continues? Be aware that it will overwrite HSPL if you do so, but it's easier to re-unlock the bootloader than handle constant hard resets.
If that doesn't fix the problem, you're probably SOL. I've not heard of anybody else experiencing what you describe unless it was a hardware problem. I guess you could try opening up the phone (it's tricky but totally possible, especially if you don't mind voiding your already-expired warranty) and re-seating the internal microSD card.
i opened the phone and re-seated the sd card now i must wait 5 days
if it reset again i will try to flash it with the stock rom
I hope that helps! Sorry I can't offer more advice (except to search for anybody else who has had this problem). My HD7 has stayed perfectly stable without a single unexpected hard-reset, so I can't help you from experience.
Have you changed the stock sd card to a higher capacity/different sd card at some point?
This could be the cause, if the card is not 100% compatible/fast enough etc. After 5-7 days of use the memory card could reach a point where it has certaint level of data and the problems start.
EDIT: Asking because you so nonchalantly told you opened the phone and re-seated the sd card, kind of gave me the impression you did it before?

hhh yes i did it before to change the sd card from 16gb to 8gb class 2
i noticed that if i put the phone in my pocket it became too warm from the down back side maybe this is the cause of the problem
and it get very hot if i put it in charge too
The class 2 card is too slow, stock is class 4. Putting too slow card in the phone can cause all sorts of problems.
I changed on my HTC 7 Pro from SanDisk 8gb class 4 card to SanDisk16 class 2. After 4 days or so it started to cause resets and after little more time programs wouldnt run anymore etc.
Now I ordered a Samsung 32gb class 10 that people all seem to have good results. It was 32eur delivered. The phone is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy faster and no more problems at all. I installed it a week ago.
What I read its not only the class either, some cards seem to have compatibility issues also. This Samsung card seems to be working for everyone, but there are more choises.
The "class" rating on SD cards is a rough measure of their sequential read and write speeds. This is important for things like cameras, which need to rapidly write a lot of data in a smooth sequence. The phone needs a certain amount of this, but not much - Class 4 cards are about as slow as you can buy today, and will do just fine. What the phone does need is extremely fast random access. Many SD cards, especially "high-speed" ones, actually perform relatively poorly in this regard. It's generally not tested for, either, so even within the same brand of card individual chips may vary.
Im sure whats above is correct, I dont know much about the tech side of this.
However Im pretty sure the OP's problems are due to the sd change.
The thing for me and what Ive read for others too, is that the problems do not start right after change of the card, everything looks normal for a while.
yes every looked normal in the first week but before this class 2 8gb sandisk card i tried a normal card calss 4 16gb and it didn't work
Reliable 32gb Samsung SD card ?

I don't suppose you have a link for this Samsung card do you ? I'm a bit wary of buying SD cards due to all the problems with compatibility and fakes.
Thanks

Well I know about the fake cards, specially on eBay. I bought from eBay , German seller, member since 99 and sells a lot of memory.
The seller seems to have raised the price for the card little since I purchased, I paid 27,90+shipping. (he had +10 sold at that point, now 40)
Here is the link for that :http://www.ebay.de/itm/180835219519.
EDIT: The price seems to be at the right ballpark for this card. I saw similar price (discounted) for the same card on some store link posted here at XDA. It was some of the topics regarding memory upgrade on WP7 device (most likely at HD7 or HTC 7 Pro section).

I have to hard reset my phone this weekend due to a bizarre problem with Internet Explorer on my phone, if that doesn't fix it, I may swop out the sd card and flash my first Rom
Do keep us posted on your new card.

Im using Ansar's lates rom btw. When I started to have problems with the old card I didnt flash a new rom, just changed the card and did a hard reset... Tomorrow I think it will be 2 weeks with this new card, no weird behaviour at all.
i changed my memory to sandisk 16 gb calss 4 and now my phone reset and restart many times a day omg i can't find the samsung calss 10 in my town and i can't buy from ebay
There are other cards that work too. You can find more info about cards here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883582
Read and surely you can find a card you can buy from your city.
where i can find the memory card references?
Hello,
I have a broken usb and also the touch is broken....
So I can't get the photos via usb connection on the phone and can't upload photos to skydrive ...
Is there a way to get the micro sd card into the pc and get the photo out of it?
Insert to another phone with microSD or buy a Adapter "microSD to SD".
So with the adapter windows can read the sd?
Going to try it out
Of course!
Sometimes you will need install drivers, but it's no problem.
Thought that locking sd thing didn't let you use the sd after...

Warning!
You can't just remove the SD card from your device...If you do, It will be unrecognizable to other devices and PC's, you run the risk of never recovering any of the data on it.
WP7 devices security encrypts the SD card and it has to be unlocked before removing it from the device.
If you do remove the SD card make sure not to turn on your device while the SD card is out of it, otherwise your device won't recognize the SD card anymore either
If your device is Pre-Mango (which I highly doubt) some devices like a Symbian can detect it. If your on Mango/Tango there is no way anything will detect it unless you unlocking the SD card first.
Trust me I found out the hard way when I upgraded mine from 16gb to a 32gb SD card. No device will detect, format or recover any information from it and I've tried several PC's, cameras, phones, Symbian, software programs and even printer stations.
To unlock it you need to install XMod storage unlock cab. With your USB port not working I'm not sure how you'll be able to do it.

Well windows7 doesn't recognize my sd card...
also I can't do anything since the usb on my phone is broken
if you are lucky you enabled wifi sync in zune , if so you can sync with that
if not then you will never get to your data
The touch on the phone stopped working...
Seems it's a go to the trash bin phone...
So it's impossible to recover the data, when u have no phone to do it?
Is there any original wp7 phone with sd card?
That may be used to do it?

no because the sd card is locked to your phone and only your phone.
sorry but I think you will never see your data on your sd card again.
Damn...
This is so so so anoying....

Sorry for my recent posts.
Why you don't repair phone? Maybe only need to change Touchscreen, also fix charging circuit?
Well, because is super expensive...
Around 100-170€ the fixing it
and I don't know if htc will flash the phone...
Or only saving all data from phone. I think you need only photos/videos? As I know, htc services only change parts or mainboards, they are not fix charging circuit or etc, when phone was broken. If give phone to htc or etc service without warranty, you can say, than they do not flash the phone.
I think, you can give the phone to other service and repair only USB.

HTC will never agree not to wipe the phone, in fact its doubtful anyone will, things happen, sometimes bad things happen, they promise not to delete stuff and something goes wrong, the next thing they have is a law suite
if your replacing the screen try do it yourself, id strongly suggest you replace both the LCD and the digitiser in one go, usually you can buy them combined which is a lot easier to install, replacing the USB socket is a bit harder but equally possible.
you might find a local tech that will can "try" to fix it all without losing everything, but they will never promise to do it.
Hello,
I've been lookng at lcd + touchscreen...
And I got a question, the ones I see on ebay (for example) say its for HTC HD2 T8585
I think my htc hd2 is the europe version, is there any problem with buying a lcd for t8585?
So about a month ago my HTC 8x started a continuous reboot problem. Not having any time that day I went to Verizon and had them switch my service back to my old Iphone. My plan was to address the problem at a later date. I did a little bit of reading and from what I gathered I was going to have to do phone reset. That was not a viable option because I had alot of pictures of my 8 month old on that phone. I had saved some of the pictures to the cloud but there was still alot that was not backed up.
One day I decided to to take the phone apart to see if I could find the phones internal memory. Now I'd say I am fairly tech savvy but I probably should have done some more research first in regards to this phone....man what a pain. Long story short the screen is cracked, the phone wont power on at all. I don't care about the phone but I do the pictures that are on it. I was wondering if anyone on this forum knows of a way in which I can remove the internal memory of this phone. What type of memory does this phone have, where is it located, how can I get to it, and how can I get it onto my computer without having the reassemble this phone. I am aware that this phone does not have a removable internal memory card, but I have not found any info on what type of internal memory it has...is it solid state, built in sim ect...

Any info would be appreciated
Man I've been having problems since day one. I've had it for a couple of days now and I'm so frustrated that I'm thinking of going back to my LGV10 and returning it back. At first I was super excited to open up the package but then......
1st problem...
Wasn't able to install the SD card and sim card. I kept on trying to install it but it would jump out of its slot and fall off. With the weight of the phone I had to also not just try to insert the cards but try to not drop the phone while juggling to balance it.
2nd problem.....
SD card doesn't read...
I have a 200gb SD I had on my V10 so I thought I could just pop it in and enjoy me some movies on this big screen and enjoy some music but Nope, it doesn't seem to want to read it and making me reformat it. I don't think so.
I installed a new one. Had to format it and thought I could transfer files to it and..
3rd problem.....
No OTG..... I didn't know that I tried to manually install some files and no luck.
Oh yeah I dropped it already also but good thing it was on the carpet.
I really really like the phone so I there's anything anyone can help me with I would be much appreciated .
Thanks and sorry I had to vent..
This phone could be great, but it really needs some dev love. If it could be unlocked and rooted I really think a custom rom could make this phone really shine. Maybe in the near future. For now I went ahead and ordered the Zenfone 3 Ultra. Going to spend the next week comparing the two. If I can get over the lack of LTE and the Zenfone has better user experience I will probably return the Lenovo.

I had a 7" display phablet. It had simcard instructions printed on the back shipping plastic. I kept the plastic on because it was a very handy reminder and was hidden by the case anyway. The way I did the simcard in Slot 1 and the sdcard in Slot 2 was to keep the phone flat on its face on a table. Open the slots one at a time... Install the cards... The table made it so easy!!! My simcard had to go into a plastic adapter to make it the right size and it was a real juggling act before I tried this - it also aids in not losing the teenie cards. They land right on the table. Now, it's possible that you have to put the phone on its back on the table... It just depends on the orientation of the card in the tray and the tray in the slot!!! Don't let that be the reason why you return the phone! Try it!!!
Another thing, I am not a techie but a few people here have mentioned that our old sdcard format doesn't work in this phone. They have (usually) purchased a new card (which I'm going to do once I get lucky enough to get this phone in my hands!) and reformatted it to work in this phone and then transferred the data from the old card onto the new one... I am not a techie so I am still going to research this different format... I still have some questions about whether my pc card reader reads that format or do I need to get a reader? Are a lot of newly released phones changing the sdcard format? Why would they request the new format? But I am not letting that stop me... I really want this phone. In my area the Chinese phones don't give good MMS text performance or I would be doing an ASUS Zenphone 3 Ultra!!!

Yeah I figured out the card inserts & I also installed a brand new SD card. I format it to how it was suppose to be and I installed one song. Took me forever just for that one song. I just hope to figure it out before it's to late to return. Just want to be happy with it if you know what I mean lol.. Thank you
