HTC 8X memory...how do i get to it? - Windows Phone 8x by HTC

So about a month ago my HTC 8x started a continuous reboot problem. Not having any time that day I went to Verizon and had them switch my service back to my old Iphone. My plan was to address the problem at a later date. I did a little bit of reading and from what I gathered I was going to have to do phone reset. That was not a viable option because I had alot of pictures of my 8 month old on that phone. I had saved some of the pictures to the cloud but there was still alot that was not backed up.
One day I decided to to take the phone apart to see if I could find the phones internal memory. Now I'd say I am fairly tech savvy but I probably should have done some more research first in regards to this phone....man what a pain. Long story short the screen is cracked, the phone wont power on at all. I don't care about the phone but I do the pictures that are on it. I was wondering if anyone on this forum knows of a way in which I can remove the internal memory of this phone. What type of memory does this phone have, where is it located, how can I get to it, and how can I get it onto my computer without having the reassemble this phone. I am aware that this phone does not have a removable internal memory card, but I have not found any info on what type of internal memory it has...is it solid state, built in sim ect...

Any info would be appreciated

[Q] No memory available on my droid incredible.

I'll start with this even though I'm not quite sure if it's related. I recently unrooted my droid incredible because I need to bring it back to Verizon.(The speaker is blown on it.) Everything went fine until today.
I was looking at the phone and all of a sudden I have no memory available on the phone or sd card. I had space yesterday and have not done anything to it since. I plugged the phone into the computer to see what I was dealing with and I do have no space. Some of the files on both the memory card and phone storage have a title Mus****.tmp (the stars are different for each) all are in the root. They are all 0kb. I am assuming I can just delete them? I have a bunch of music on there and used v cast to put them back on after I wiped the phone. Worst case senario I am planning on wiping the memory card when I get the new phone and hopefully that works, I just want to make sure this wont happen to the new one.(I plan to root that one as well.)
I appreciate any help.

problem with apps stop working

Just got the phone 2 days ago, downloaded a number of apps from Android Market, moved the ones to SD cards that I could, but after a while, a lot of them fail to start with the error " has stopped unpectedly" when I try to launch. Used same apps on my 3G slide without issues. Have done charging of the phone during that time... And I'm using the same SD card I used in the 3G, so don't thinki its the card..
Any ideas out there. An issue with the phone??
I cleared the problem by remounting the SD card via the settings command. So still a question of is there an issue with the phone losing the SD mount or possible I need to try another SD card. If it continues, I will try another card...
I've had my sdcard randomly unmount on me a couple of times.. It's happened on both my first and second MT4GS, but it's very infrequent.
Doesn't seem to be ROM dependent, although i've been running stock modded my way for a little while now. I think the last time it happened to me was about 8 or 9 days ago, and it's happened 3 times since I got one in the first week of august.
I had it happen to me the first time before we had S-OFF for the phone, so it's nothing any of us did.
I wasn't worried enough about it to look into why or do something about it...though I was keeping track of how much it happened in case that changed. Now that I see i'm not alone maybe we should see what's going on and if it's something to worry about.
I've had a different memory card in each time it happened, one PNY and two SanDisk cards ( 8 and 16 gig). I don't remember what I was doing when they happened, or how long the phone had been on.
I don't mount/unmount the card manually while the phone is on, the only time I ever swap them is when no battery is in the phone. ( overkill, I know, but having seen someone pull a hard drive from a running x86 machine...I just have the methods i'm comfortable with.)
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, see about throwing some details about it here.
Thanks for the post. Its been good ince I remounted yesterday. But when I thought about it, I did remove the card with the phone powered off and put it back in beofre the problem happened yesterday. Now the apss were working after that, but stoppedworking later on then I remounted. So it could be related to the card removal/replacement. I will not remove the card anymnore aand will see if the problem occurs again..
FYI - Im using a 16GB sandisk
Depending on which apps you moved to the sdcard that could be your problem entirely. I know if i try to move system apps or widgets or something like that it'll cause it to fc every time. i try to keep as many on my phone as possible except for games and crap that aren't in any way essential to the phones functionality and i know i'm not going to need access to very frequently since putting things on the sdcard affects their speeds.

problem with data disappearing from sd card.

so a couple months ago when I got this phone, I bought two 16 gig micro sd cards(order mistake, and I never returned one), one Patriot and one Wintec. a a month later, after a reboot, I had a problem with one of them losing the data on it. like, all the apps installed there, plus pictures, all gradually disappeared except for a few folders that were emptied. I didnt know whether the phone or card caused it, so i switched to the other one, and put the one that had deleted data into my tablet (iconia) to see what would happen. well things went fine for a while, and then there was a point where I was taking the card in and out of the tablet and switching it between that and my computer, and the card eventually stopped working altogether. so I figured it was just a bad card.... but then the one in my phone los data like the other one originally did.
I had backups, so i formatted and reinstalled them. but over the months, it's happened again 3 times, then a fourth time today. so I'm planning to format the entire phone and card and see if it ever happens again, i.e. maybe the phone is the problem. I notice it usually happens after a reboot, i'm thinking maybe Samsung's mods have caused the media scanner to be unstable. anyone else know what's likely to be causing this?
if it helps diagnose, I'm attaching two pics of the sd card contents. it's odd, a bunch of the file and folder names have been renamed, with random letters replaced with other letter and characters. and for some reason, the whole card was renamed "ba".
in short, do you guys know if this is more likely to be a problem with both cards having been bad, or my phone corrupting them? I'm hoping it's not the phone, that would be difficult to fix i'll bet.
gah forgot to attach.
OK after reverting to factory stock, updating to the latest and rooting, I still have this problem. Doesanyone know what it is caused by?

SDcard "read only"

Anyone else getting this error? I've gotten it a few times and it's been taken care of each time with a reboot. This morning it wouldn't fix it.....ended up taking the card out of the phone and connecting it to my pc to see if it was truly messed up and it wasn't. Copied it to my comp and put it back in the phone, works now. I'm backing up all apps now, contacts next. I hope this gets fixed soon or I might have to get a different phone cause I damn sure don't want to have to take my phone apart everytime this happens.
This happens to me too. Haven't nailed down what it is but I have a feeling one of Motorola's phone sync/sharing apps is the culprit.
Kinda aggravating huh?

I think i'm just gonna try a different microsd card and see if the problem persists.....perfect excuse to upgrade to a 16gb card from my 8gb one

Been having problems since day one

Man I've been having problems since day one. I've had it for a couple of days now and I'm so frustrated that I'm thinking of going back to my LGV10 and returning it back. At first I was super excited to open up the package but then......
1st problem...
Wasn't able to install the SD card and sim card. I kept on trying to install it but it would jump out of its slot and fall off. With the weight of the phone I had to also not just try to insert the cards but try to not drop the phone while juggling to balance it.
2nd problem.....
SD card doesn't read...
I have a 200gb SD I had on my V10 so I thought I could just pop it in and enjoy me some movies on this big screen and enjoy some music but Nope, it doesn't seem to want to read it and making me reformat it. I don't think so.
I installed a new one. Had to format it and thought I could transfer files to it and..
3rd problem.....
No OTG..... I didn't know that I tried to manually install some files and no luck.
Oh yeah I dropped it already also but good thing it was on the carpet.
I really really like the phone so I there's anything anyone can help me with I would be much appreciated .
Thanks and sorry I had to vent..
This phone could be great, but it really needs some dev love. If it could be unlocked and rooted I really think a custom rom could make this phone really shine. Maybe in the near future. For now I went ahead and ordered the Zenfone 3 Ultra. Going to spend the next week comparing the two. If I can get over the lack of LTE and the Zenfone has better user experience I will probably return the Lenovo.

I had a 7" display phablet. It had simcard instructions printed on the back shipping plastic. I kept the plastic on because it was a very handy reminder and was hidden by the case anyway. The way I did the simcard in Slot 1 and the sdcard in Slot 2 was to keep the phone flat on its face on a table. Open the slots one at a time... Install the cards... The table made it so easy!!! My simcard had to go into a plastic adapter to make it the right size and it was a real juggling act before I tried this - it also aids in not losing the teenie cards. They land right on the table. Now, it's possible that you have to put the phone on its back on the table... It just depends on the orientation of the card in the tray and the tray in the slot!!! Don't let that be the reason why you return the phone! Try it!!!
Another thing, I am not a techie but a few people here have mentioned that our old sdcard format doesn't work in this phone. They have (usually) purchased a new card (which I'm going to do once I get lucky enough to get this phone in my hands!) and reformatted it to work in this phone and then transferred the data from the old card onto the new one... I am not a techie so I am still going to research this different format... I still have some questions about whether my pc card reader reads that format or do I need to get a reader? Are a lot of newly released phones changing the sdcard format? Why would they request the new format? But I am not letting that stop me... I really want this phone. In my area the Chinese phones don't give good MMS text performance or I would be doing an ASUS Zenphone 3 Ultra!!!

Yeah I figured out the card inserts & I also installed a brand new SD card. I format it to how it was suppose to be and I installed one song. Took me forever just for that one song. I just hope to figure it out before it's to late to return. Just want to be happy with it if you know what I mean lol.. Thank you
