Hi,
I have a question about slide bar + incoming call and I find out a lot of people with the same problem.
"Does anyone else have an issue with the way you answer an incoming call? I have to slide the bar over and then press answer, and I can really only do it half of the time, especially when my phone is not near and I have to rush to pick it up. As a result, I have missed a couple of incoming calls." -- from Matchbook user's nexusoneforum
-nexusoneforum. net/forum/nexus-one-general-discussion/4993-incoming-call-slide-bar.html
-code. g oogle.com /p/android/issues/detail?id=13853
These guys have Nexus One and Nexus S and both of them has the same issue.
Please let me know if 2.3.3 version provides a solution for this problem.
Sorry, but I new user and I can't post URL yet, according to antispam XDA policy

Same here...I only have to slide the answer bar and boom, its answered. Sure, I've missed calls by being in the other room and just not getting to the phone in time but that's not the phone...

Anyone knows how to turn off the email notification sound while on the phone on Nexus S. It's extremly annoying and and the other person can hear it as clear as I can? This is the most basic thing and I never had this problem in last 15 years. Thanks...
goto menu->settings then scroll to notification settings
select ringtone->silent
done
All that'll do is switch notification sound to silent at all times. I just want notifications switched to silent when on the phone not at all times.
Thanks for your answer though
Never heard of this issue and sounds very dumb if an alert plays during a phone call. I can't believe it would.

Well, they do! LOL. I noticed it last night while in a call.
Edit: test it yourself. Give yourself a call from another phone, then send yourself an email.

This absolutely should be user configurable within the OS, but it doesn't appear to be.
There's an app called Tasker with a free 7-day trial version that would allow you to setup a work-around.
Tell Tasker that when you're in a call, to turn off notification sounds, and to turn them back on when you end the call.
I'm just now testing the app myself, and it's amazingly powerful in its potential.
edit: On an admin note to the mods...this thread is an example of why even some of we seasoned forum members get confused over where a thread should go. It's clearly a question, seeking a specific answer to solve a problem, and it hasn't been moved to the Q&A section, yet posts that are more general in nature intended to spark discussion are moved to Q&A just because they have a "?" mark in the title or first sentence...
but this is clearly a nexus s specific issue, correct? i'm just trying to think, no other android phone does this that i can tell. certainly my nexus one does not, and i have 4 active simultaneous emails accounts going all day for the last year, exchange account and all. but isnt this something the OS would handle and be common across all devices?
unless its a gingerbread thing...

It appears to be a gingerbread thing.
I just tested it on my SGS with Doc's ROM. No sound heard by either myself or the other party on both email and SMS receipts.
Bug #103 in Gingerbread...?
Is there a website where one can submit bugs like this one so that it can be addressed in the next update? Sounds like an easy fix

Yes, you can go here, but honestly, don't expect quick results. The Google Help forums seem to get more attention, or at least feedback, from real live Google employees.
Thanks distortedloop! I just went to the website and it looks like someone already submitted the bug. Hope it gets fixed soon. Thanks again.

"Star" the issue on there to show you have the problem too, if you haven't.

Same thing happens on my Captivate since I've been playing with Froyo Roms. It's kind of annoying since I use loud, high pitched ringtones because I work on loud environment.
Hello,
I need an inner voice mail for my SGS2 and I haven't found one.
There use to be one like that in Symbian.
Actually I need it to answer the call and let the other side to hear a recorded message file, then let him leave a message. And I will able to answer the call in any moment even during he's saying his message.
Is there anything like this ?
Thanks !!

Hey guys,
So I have heard of the issue with the CM7 (Wyzor's TG-Reloaded build, in my case) issue in which calls to numbers with a "+1" in front of them cannot be made. Since all incoming numbers to google voice have a +1, returning missed calls is a pain in the ass. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

Does using an alternative dialer work? At worst, it might be a fix, at best it'll give you an idea whether it's the dialer's fault or the phone's. I have the ROM but my phone isn't active.
Sent from my Triumph using Tapatalk
Nope, just tried a different one from the market, and it doesn't make a difference. Seems like it hangs while trying to make the call (which appears to use the stock phone app and not be dependent on the dialer). Any other ideas? Do phone.apk replacements exist?

Not that I've ever seen, and I've been around. It might be best to ask about the issue in the ROM thread, because the developer is usually the one in the best position to recognize the problem or offer a fix.

Which build are you using? I have used the last three builds of his and have never experienced this problem. You should send Whyzor a private message and ask for his input. He's helped me out before, CyanoGenMod reloaded is his baby and he is pretty responsive when it comes to things like this.
I actually PM'ed him earlier today and he confirmed that I am not the only one to see this issue with the +1. If anyone figures out how to call out with +1 or make it so that the default calls do not come in with the +1 onto them via google voice, I would love to know. Otherwise, it really is just a minor annoyance.
hello,
i offered a moto G 8go to my mother this summer.
It's a very cool phone but she has a strange problem with it :
Sometimes, the phone calls by itself whereas the screen is off.
Do someone experienced this kind of problem ? is there a solution ?

Not an exact answer but it could in theory be:
Google voice input. Its always listening and therefore capable of dialing.
Disabled lockscreen. Back to the butt dial.
Some other app. We have no idea what's on there.
Might be worth a complete wipe and try over. Or its possessed and you need to burn it. Any third party dialer apps? Still under warranty?

If i don't find a solution, i'll try wipe it then in last option, send it back to the seller
Thanks you for your help
Butt dialing is when the phone gets unlocked in your pocket without you knowing, because it's still getting touched, it can call people or send random messages because of the touch input you're giving it without realizing. Big problem in America with tight pants + phones with lots of buttons and no lock screen.

Ok thanks
But the problem occurs even when the phone is on a table
Please try changing dialer app or update KitKat 4.4.4 it contains new dialer app.
This looks like bug for many while googled.

I have the phone for two days now, but I noticed that unlike GS4 and GS5, GS6 is missing these two important features!
there is no "answer vibration" feature , so if someone answer my call I can't let the device vibrate!
you can't put a "direct call" icon in the desktop! now you can put contact icon, then after clicking it will take you to the contact page for that person!
Anyone, is this the case with you? anyone know how to solve it?!
Go into the dialer settings and under call alerts you'll find what you're looking for.

Don't think it's Samsung. Looks like Google removed the shortcuts for the direct call, email, sms, etc... In lollipop from what I can find. I been searching and not much info on the web about this, guess me and you the few that used that feature.

it might be, but I used Lollipop in my GS5 and the feature was there!
I am most annoyed about the vibration thing! I even flashed a German ROM in my mobile but the vibrate on answer feature didn't show up! :crying:
Don't think it's the Os it's the phone model ID and product ID , if it's that important change it to a us variant, might not boot though

Direct call is different from a shortcut. With direct call you click the icon and it calls the assigned person. With the shortcut as in the screen you posted, it takes you to the contacts page, where you then call text etc...
Thanks though

Thank you for your answer, this feature is important to me. I tired to install the T-Mobil US ROM. but it failed with Odin! I guess because my phone is G920F. and the T-Mobil pone is G920I.
For the second point, I agree with tenxo. Galaxy phones used to have direct calls.

I have GS6 Edge Middle East edition
I have the same problem as yours no call alerts option
I really miss the vibrating feature after answering
I have the European S6 Edge - no call alert settings as well. I would like to remove the call connect tone and enable vibrate on answer. Hope Samsung will add this with the next updates.

This ROM is what you're looking for: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-xtrestolite-pure-edition-1-0-beta-1-t3082467
Now I can't tell you if this ROM will work on your phone, but it has the option to turn on Vibrate on Call. This ROM is also a "LITE" rom, so it de-bloats alot of things. So read carefully, and ask questions BEFORE you flash.

I don't use the ROM (I haven't rooted yet--waiting/hoping of a way to root without tripping KNOX), but I wanted to read about it and that Vibrate on Calls caught my eye because I remember someone asking about that feature. So I came back here to tell you about it. I'm T-Mobile US, so I already have that feature OTB. Weird some don't have that simple feature. Odd. But you're welcome, and good luck!
