Hi Guys
I have been using my Streak for ages now, and aside from rooting it I have not hacked it at all.
Yesterday I was trying to work out which app is draining my data so I installed a number of data loggers and droidwall (android firewall).
Aside from discovering that the ROM does not support logging data per-app, everything was fine. But this morning I had a phone call and after I hung up it rebooted and started in airplane mode and since then I have not been able to switch it back.
My SIM works in other phones, other SIMs dont work in this phone.
I tired rolling droidwall back: re-enabling all apps network access, disabling the firewall and uninstalling but that didn't change anything, I have also messaged the author but since it happened hours after I last made any changes I don't 100% believe it is at fault?
I can get wifi, but not gsm.
I have almost finished pimping it out I really don't want to flash the rom Do I have any other options?

I’m currently using AOKP Jellybean 4.1.2, the supposedly stable, reliable milestone version found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804223
I'll try to be as thorough as possible in hopes that someone will respond and know what to do. I apologize in advance for being long-winded.
I didn’t have any issues last night when I first flashed the rom. I was able to watch youtube videos using the mobile data. I was also able to turn on wifi to sync some files from my dropbox to my phone, and then turn off the wifi with no issues. However, today after connecting to a wifi network to download a few things and browse the web, I disconnected from the wireless network and the mobile data curiously did not start up again. I DO have cellular service (3-4 bars), and I can make phone calls and check my voicemail by pressing and holding 1 on the keypad, but my mobile data doesn’t work. I looked around for some solutions, and I've since restarted my device several times, tried toggling airplane mode on and off, and did several combinations of reboots with airplane on/off and no dice.
Everytime I use the toggle in the notificaton bar area to turn off wifi, my internet connection goes with it. It says “no internet connection” in the notification background at the bottom of the screen. Once I turn wifi on, I get my internet back and it says “at&t” at the bottom, but I don’t actually get mobile data because apps like “At&t Visual Voicemail” which require mobile data to function don’t work.
I tried flashing the 1.85 radio to see if it would connect to mobile data, and same issue persisted after reboot and dalvik/cache clean. After that failed, I flashed the 2.20 radio + RIL zip files seperately (which is what I understand came with the rom), and still no dice.
For reference, my HTC One X was rooted with 1.73 firmware (I never tried to update it until last night). I did the CID spoof method to unlock my bootloader, and installed the newest version of TWRP on it. I flashed the rom and the gapps package. I used TiBu to restore program settings and a handful of my out of market apps, and the rest of my purchased apps downloaded automatically from the market after connecting with my google account. I had literally just finished reinstalling the last of my apps today via wifi when this issue started to happen.
I'd really prefer a practical method of getting this fixed that doesn't involve starting over with a fresh rom install. Reflashing at this point would be something of a nuisance since I don’t have much free time to begin with. And hey, it took a long time to load up all of my apps just right
However, if there is no other fix that anyone is aware of, I guess I could reflash or in the worst case try a different rom. It’s a shame because the rom otherwise is really smooth and runs great on the phone, in addition to not using a whole lot of resources and having a decent battery life.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and solutions.
Here is an image of my battery drain screen showing what my mobile data is supposedly doing despite not being able to get a true data connection. Even with my wifi off, there is supposedly medium mobile signal.
And attached is another image of what happens when I turn my wifi off. I pulled the notification pane down and you can see that it says "no internet connection" at the bottom. Also, you can't really see it in that cap, but the mobile data bars behind the notification area are colored white, and there isn't any "H+", "4G", or "LTE" notifiers visible.
Edit: Attached a third image showing the "white" signal bars (i.e. no data connection). Yes, my mobile data is turned on, and I'm obviously not in airplane mode.
I figured it out eventually for anyone interested... Apparently the APN were not set. They existed on the APN list but were not visible due to a glitch in the ROM I guess. I had to add a custom APN and then the other ones suddenly appeared.
Thanks anyway.

I'm troubleshooting an odd issue that I've noticed since installing the VoLTE update, but with increased frequency of late. The issue is push notifications are not coming into my phone except when I change data modes. I'm still connected to the Internet and all apps load and work correctly. I just don't get notified of anything (everything from Gmail to ESPN Fantasy to OKCupid etc.) unless I go into and out of airplane mode or switch between wi-fi and LTE. It's almost like there's some kind of strange strict power saving mode, but there isn't. I don't have any power management apps and battery saver in the stock settings is disabled.
I mentioned I'm on the VoLTE update. This is a consumer edition but rooted with an unlocked bootloader.
What I've tried so far:
I reverted to the previous 21.x... update since I didn't remember seeing the problem pre-VoLTE. I reverted to this update using an old TWRP backup including the /data area so everything should have been exactly as it was when things were working. Same symptoms.
I rebooted to safe mode with the hope of seeing if there is some kind of rogue power management app on my device. Same issue.
I noticed the connection indicator is orange, meaning that there's a problem connecting to Google services. I went into the Accounts area in settings and saw a couple of sync errors, but with unimportant settings like Ingress and Newsstand. I disabled the ones that were erroring out and got it to do a successful sync, but the connection indicator remained orange even though Accounts said all sync was working correctly. I even removed and re-added my Google account. Same issue.
I could try reformatting the phone but at this point I'm not sure that would even help me. It's so frustrating that nothing gets to me unless I check manually! (Thankfully, calls and SMS are still working normally, as far as I know.)
Any ideas/help?
Thanks guys!
Hi all. I have a weird issue that after Googling it doesn't seem anyone else has had.
The issue started earlier today, in the morning. I was using my phone on the WiFi and it was working phone, then my phone crashed, restarted itself.
I noticed it wasn't connected to the WiFi, went to the WiFi settings and where it usually says the list of networks it said "Turning on WiFi" and the slider at the top was greyed out so I couldn't turn it off.
I tried airplane mode and that didn't help. But the phone was working fine on my mobile data so restarted.
Now the weirder part starts. I basically have an issue where, if I turn on the WiFi, my phone crashes, or doesn't act like it's turning the WiFi on.
Even going Settings and then pressing on the WiFi option freezes the phone.
The problem started when I was still using 4.4.4 however since the problem developed I've used my mobile data to download the updates and now have 5.1.1 I think.
The problem persists even after updating to the most recent version and doing a factory restore. The phone is currently completely stock with nothing downloaded on to it. All I did is go through the first time setup for the device.
The WiFi currently is off, and the phone is working however it won't connect to my data, it has the signal bars and then an ! instead of a 4G icon.
If I try to turn the WiFi on it crashes the phone.
The phone is still under warranty so I plan on contacting LG on Monday however it's currently 3:34 AM on a Sunday so I have a day until I can call them and was hoping for a solution in that time.
Thanks in advance. I have the phone to hand so anything you want me to test I'm able to.
There is some information I didn't type as I don't know what is important was trying to avoid a wall of text so if you have any more questions I'll answer I best I can.
Thanks for reading, I hope you can help!
Hello,
I have a carrier unlocked Pixel 2 walleye that is rooted (magisk, no custom recovery) and on Verizon
android version 8.1.0
build #OPM1.171019.021
when I try to activate wifi calling, i get the spinning circle for a long time, and then it finally says "unable to activate wi-fi calling. please try again later"
I have HD voice activated on my verizon wireless account.
I tried the VoEnabler module in Magisk
Wifi calling is turned on in the phone info screen (*#*#4636#*#*)
The only thing i guess i haven't tried is installing a Verizon ROM instead of the stock Google ROM.
Before I went that route, I wanted to check here and see if anyone else was able to get it to work for them.
Thanks in advance.
ok so i had this issue twice on the same phone and i am rooted as well. i think the only way to get it to work is to disable root, activate wifi calling, then reactivate root.
I have enabled this feature while rooted on 2 different PIxel 2's.
This sounds silly but turn off wifi and try to activate it. I've been unable to input my address during the activation process multiple times unless I am on cellular.
thanks for the suggestions everyone. with wifi turned off, it still won't work. I'll try the unroot path next time there is a new system update. It's not a critical need at the moment, but it is rather annoying that i can't activate it.

I don't think your problem is related to root unless it's a Magisk module of some kind that's the problem. I'm on Verizon, rooted with Magisk. I haven't had wireless calling turned on but after seeing your post I thought I'd check and see if it works on mine. It connected without any problems for me.
Did you ever figure this out?

I'm having a similar issue, except that I can enable wifi calling but always get the "Turn off airplane mode or connect to a wireless network" message when attempting to place a wifi call. Everything with regard to wifi calling is set up correctly. I thought I had this narrowed down to Oreo version and patch level, but I honestly can't come up with a repeatable scenario that breaks it. About all I can say for sure is it seems like when I flash back to bone stock, OPM1.171019.021, wifi calling works as expected. However, it seems to break after a while, even without applying any updates. My gut says it's related to root, but I've also seen it work with root. I also have a suspicion it has something to do with the type of authentication on the wifi network, as the first time I ever saw wifi calling work was when I connected to an open SSID. The problem is, right after that, it worked fine on a WPA2 network on which it never worked before. This is on Verizon with a Pixel 2 from the Google Store. I have a hard time believing it's a Verizon issue, though. It's more like the phone does a check for wifi connectivity and returns "false" for some reason.
*** I should add all my testing has been done by turning on airplane mode (thus disabling LTE/3G) and then enabling wifi. My office at work has horrendous cell coverage, but I haven't gotten it down to zero bars without airplane mode to see if it works then.
Yesterday was like any other day, I took the bus to work and enabled mobile hotspot on my Oneplus 6 so I could do some work. On my way home in the afternoon, I did the same thing. This time however, I had exclemation marks on the mobile network symbol in the statusbar. Tried enabling hotspot anyway but there was network. Rebooted the phone but still the same issue. Oh well, I thought it was just my carrier then. When I came home to my wifi, I checked my carriers status information on their websites and there was no disturbances. Then I restored a backup which failed and I had to reflash the phone entirely with the latest pie zip. Today, I still don't have any network on my sims. I use two sims but they are using the same carrier. I also asked around my friends which has the same carrier and they have network...
I would understand if something might have happened when I reflashed the phone last night but that does not explain the sudden malfunction of the network on my bus ride home, the phone had worked flawlessly for a whole week.
This thread seem to be about the same thing and I tried the solutions regarding clearing caches and settings but it did not work:
https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...ot-working-but-network-bars-are-there.844978/
Could it be something with the IMEI number? But it doesn't explain why it stopped working out of the blue. I can see both my IMEI numbers in the settings and I have also tried install Magisk 17.2 beta as suggested by another user. I think I still have a backup of the modem on my pc. However this is from when the network still worked and then suddenly stopped working.
TLDR: I have full reception, Calls and SMS work, there is just no Internet connection.
Just to be sure, datasave is turned off?

Yep, that is off. I have also reset my APN setting and double checked them with my provider, it didn't help.
No hotspot
I'm having a similar issue, I updated to android p stable and since then I can't use hotspot. It turns on fine and says devices connected but internet doesn't work on the connected devices. This seems to be an issue with Android P because my gf also has the op6 and I tried hotspot on hers before updating and it worked fine, then updated and it stopped working for her too. I have also tried clearing cache and manually entering the APN. I need to be able to tether to my laptop and tablet for work so anyone solution to this problem would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Although the problem I decribed in this thread isn't the hotspot problem, it was caused by my carrier. But I also have issues with hotspot, my laptop has trouble finding the wifi from the phone.
