Sure...but how much will that contact cost >.> Over a period of two years...it will be WAY more then the initial price. But I guess we'll have a plan anyways so why not be stuck in a contract. =( Guess I'll be getting this next year. I'm really young anyways rofl (only 15 haha)

Depends on the company you're ordering from, usually you don't have to pay VAT for export phones. But you'll still have to pay the 7% gst at the customs if you declare it to be more than 400 sgd.

Was thinking of getting one either from the UK or expansys HK. Emailed expansys HK last week and the staff said that even though its not on the website yet, its available for pre-order and stock should be in by tomorrow (18/08/2008) its going for HK$7000. Shipping will be another HK$150 to Singapore. Are you from Singapore too?

No one says cool people know how to run a state without running it into the ground
I believe CA is not too far away from asking/forcing Amazon.com to collect sales tax for its residents since Amazon starts to do it for Texas now.

I have absolutely no sympathy for all you people who are going to have to start paying sales tax on Amazon. I've had to do it for years since I live in WA where Amazon is based.
I am cool and I liive in the Arizona desert
I live in Arizona and I will still buy from Amazon even if they have to charge sales tax. Amazon treats their customers a lot better than the brick and mortar locations I have access to.

Hi guys! I did not know where to ask this question, so I turned on here may be some of you have an experience. I am planning to buy a Nexus 5 to replace my Nexus 4. Tis should be a pretty cheap phone now since 2 years has passed from its release. I live in Canada and I was planning to buy one from ebay. They ship from Hong Kong and looks like it is new. For example this one:

Now my question is am I going to be charged with extra fees (like duty and taxes)? Anybody has any experience buying new phones from ebay shipped from china?

that ebay posting is over priced. you can get a 32 gb for cheaper than that now. my advice is keep looking on ebay, slickdeals, adnroid central, swappa for a good deal.

It depends on shipper's declared value as to whether you are charged duties and taxes.
No mention of warranty on the listing.

I just bought a red 32gb from expansys. Will be delivered tomorrow. I'll post back about if it's in a factory box or anything else. I hope they're not trying to pass off refurbs as new.
I hope so. With the Canadian currency though, I think it is expensive for me. And i am not sure if they ship to canada. And if they do they would probably charge for taxes and other fees too!

So what's the history of one plus supporting a device under warranty even if I purchase it from TMO and using on Verizon.
