I believe this started when I encrypted my zoom.
Now, when I shut off and restart (not just sleep) I lose my timezone setting. Is this happening to anyone else? Any known solution?

Fine does the same thing. Not every time, but about every 3rd time I turn it on my time zone has changed - and it never changes to the same time zone.
I have a wifi only model, and I am under the impression that because I have it set to "Use Network Time" that it is getting set some how from a server thats wrong.
Possibly even a GPS issue?

Mine is wifi only too. Maybe I will try turning auto set time off and see if that helps, it would at least narrow the issue down. When mine resets, its always to GMT.
is anyone else having this issue? The time is staying set correctly, but the timezone keeps reseting to gmt.

It does not appear that way. Maybe you need to do a factory reset?
I get this on my 3G, also encrypted.
Mine was also forgetting the time zone. It bugged me so much that I unencrypted the drive and reconfigured from scratch.

I may end up doing this. With as often as the browser freezes up, I am resetting the device more than I thought I would. It seems confirmed that it is an issue with encryption from the few people who seem to be having the same issue.
I'm having the same issue as well with a Wi-Fi only Xoom thats encrypted. It always resets to GMT even with network time turned off.
I am having this same issue as well. It did not start until I encrypted the tablet. Until then, I have had no real complaints.
I'm getting the same issue on my encrypted Acer A500.
After the 3.1 update (OTA), I've been having problems were after a night charging with a dock, when I try to connect to my home network, the transformer reboots as soon as I seen "obtaining IP address from [my home network name]".
There doesn't seem to be anyone else having the same problem. Any hints?
Thanks.
Mate I get the same issue - Had it with all previous versions. It just gets stuck in a reboot cycle. If you disable the wifi it stops rebooting but as soon as the wifi is restored it starts back into the cycle. I had fixed it once but couldn't work out how when it happened again last night. I ended up having to wipe it and start again. This fixes it for a while but not sure why it does it.
Does anyone know a fix for this issue?
I searched around and couldn't find anything. Maybe I over looked it if so my apologies for a repost.
I have CM10 on my phone. 99% of the time I keep my wifi off and don't use it. About 2 weeks ago I tried my wifi and it won't turn on. I know there was a problem with the nightlies after the 1007 one, at least I think that's the right one. What I can't find is if the wifi issue has since been fixed. I'm on the lastest nightly and am still not able to turn my wifi on. I just wanted to check and make sure that this is still a problem before I go ahead and try a wipe and install again. I'd like to avoid that if it's not going to work. So is wifi still an issue? Is there something I can do to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated
EDIT: By not working I mean the wifi slider is greyed out. So attempting to slide it to on results in it immediately defaulting back to off. Also I tried changing the wifi setting from Europe to US but that never seems to save.
I did a factory reset and installed the rom again. I'm still unable to turn on my wifi. Can anyone offer any assistance?
So I've had my Nexus 5 for roughly around a month and I hadn't experienced any issues others have had with wifi not connecting until now. My N5 will show im connected to my home wifi with full bars, but going into quick settings shows it to be orange. Suggesting there's no data transfer, I cannot use any internet based apps with wifi. I've tried some suggestions, switching my router off then on, rebooting the phone, turning some settings off in the advanced panel in wifi settings. All have failed.
I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem and if anyone has a fix to it.

There was a thread around here somewhere that suggested turning off your mobile data helped fix this problem, I think it was in the N5 General forums.....here it is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2550690
Don't know if it'll help or not, just saw your thread and had just looked at the other one, figured I'd toss it out there.
Thanks for the reply, just tried that solution but still no luck.
I have a similar problem except that there are phases of wifi not working.
Sometimes I would have around 20-30 seconds of WiFi not working and there would be no data transfer.
Speeds are still fast when it is working however.
I played a little with only using mobile data and no wifi, and everything worked. (Small sample size however).
Seems like this is a WiFi only issue.
So somehow overnight the wifi has managed to fix itself, will report back if the problem returns.
The issue with the wifi returned unfortunately.

Don't know if you've tried this but change your WiFi frequency band in advanced setting to either "5 GHz only" or "2.4 GHz only," whatever your router uses. Might be worth a try.
Thanks for the help, but I've tried changing some settings in advanced wifi settings but it hasn't worked. Even what you recommended I've tried that before and it didn't work.
wifi issue
Also I have the same issue - Im connected to router by wi-fi, home and work and time by time (5x a day) wifi stops working. Wifi is enabled in settings, but there is no connection. Restart the cellphone helps, but after that, maybe an hour, it appears again.
Issue was in 4.4 and still appers in 4.4.1.
Yet did not found how to solve it.
I have the same issue on my gnex running shiny 4.4, but I also had the same issue on 4.3. Tried the wifi options, nothing worked. Unfortunately, no solution for this device that has to last one more week. The double swipe down and tapping wifi gets the connection back, but it is only a work around.
The N5 connects seamlessly to my home and work wifi. A few days ago, I flashed the hammerhead factory image, TWRP and the 4.4.1 update.

Hey,
I have the same problem with 4.4.2.(factory rom, no root or not unlocked). Sometimes the wifi not works and get orange. I must put airplane mode to fix it. Its annoying.
But as well happens to me:
When I go out from office or home (where I have wifi connections saved in phone) the phone automatically switch to data plan from carrier. But when I come back the phone stays with data and there is not automatic switch to wifi. Sometimes it help to put wifi off or always airplane mode on/off for a while.
I do not know if it is normal behave of android but I would like have automatic switch to wifi.
I tried to change wifi details (changing bands, etc.) but not helped.
Please help. Thank you.
Is custom ROM or kernel will fix it??
For some unknown reason, as soon as I updated my router's firmware, the problem disappeared.
Updated Android 6.0 solved the issue

So I had the unfortunate experience of having my wifi go down while on vacation and for 3 weeks I spent a good chunk of time wiping and reinstalling multiple versions from Cyanogen, Paranoid android and 4.4 - 5.1 to no avail. I just did another factory wipe today and installed the new Android 6.0
The Finger Pointing Game is OVER
Read through 30+ pages of other android users with similar experience and some people send their units back to LG and some even managed getting a new handset. There was never any hardware issues with my unit I just couldn't turn on the WiFi but after the install WiFi works? Guess next time you push a software update to our Phones CHECK YOUR SH*T google and Maybe DON'T Take 3 months to FIX your F*CK Up.
I have a similar issue. Since Lollipop my phone almost never automatically connects to my WiFi anymore. What's wrong?
Myself and my partner have recently purchased an Xperia Z3 each running Android 4.4.4 and love it but experiencing a very strange issue with mobile data.
Periodically on both our devices we lose mobile data (no 4G, H/H+ symbol) despite have a good connection. A phone restart fixes the problem but this happens all time and usually when reception is lost and then rejoined. Turning airport mode on does not fix the issue.
We are both on the UK Three Mobile network and have entered the correct APN settings.
Very strangely I have discovered the if I change just the "APN" entry to any random text then go back to mobile network settings the data instantly appears and works again for a period of time! This saves a reboot but the issue returns again once reception is lost The official setting for apn is "three.co.uk" but the issue still happens. Very strange that changing just the apn name to anything random fixes it for a bit.
I'm hoping the lollipop update fixes this issue but not holding up hope, any suggestions, or has anyone seen this issue? I suspect this a network issue but have already changed sim cards with no luck.
Also this issue occurs regardless of location and on both our identical devices. Have carried out factory resets too but no joy.

I dont think device has any fault..if ur device is unlocked u can try another sim card and see if issue persists..
U can try deleting all apns and download via settings menu...amd try..
Thanks for the reply, have tried removing all apn settings and re-adding but no luck
Our phones are factory unlocked so will try and test with another network sim, if I can find one...
Wish the lollipop update would come out already so I can test with that.
Cheers
