Hi XDA-devs!
I've been going through this forum for quite a while now, but sadly I haven't been able to find the answer to my problem
I got a Kaiser 130 which isn't performing very well, actually it isn't performing at all.
Here is the problem:
Fully charged battery (not the problem)
I go push the powerbutton
Green light comes on and no more than that.
What I've tried so far:
Pulled the battery
Pulled the battery and pressed Power for more than 30 seconds.
Pushed the reset button while on (Turns out the green light)
Reset + Cam + Power (Turns it on again)
Power + Softkeys (Turns out the green light)
All sorts of battery dismounting and mounting, which suddenly gave a blink of a red light for a change.
Well this can be fixed! (initial thought)
BUT
I am unable to make the device do anything at all when it comes to USB connections in the way that the device gives no indication to Windows or Linux at all, so how am I supposed to get through to the device with frankenkaiser, MTTY or anything else?
It gives no indication to Active Sync, Windows Mobile Device Center or "The upgrade to WM6.1" HTC program.
The USB-connection is just not working!
The phone looks perfect and has never been used, but has been bricked for more than 2 years before I got my hands on it. It comes from an institution and was never used because it didn't work, so no damage has occoured.
It holds the original rom and has never been modded or anything.
So is this device simply out of my reach or am I missing something?

try HARD RESET after power on. tat saved mine two days ago

Hi,
I have installed ~2 weeks ago NBD 7.9 and everything was ok. Today I have restarted my phone to change my SIM card but my phone could not start.
I see HTC logo but phone freezes after having NBD logo and nothing happens.
As you can image because of could not connecting to the phone, I can not also update ROM.
Any tip to recover my phone?
Did you try a hard-reset?
Can you explain what exactly you mean? Probably I do not know what is hard reset on these devices.
Ok I have found hard reset on the page
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=WizardFAQ
But now there is no power also. I also could not boot anymore.
* Press and hold both the Comm Mannager Button and the Voice Command Button
* While keeping those two buttons pressed, press the Reset Button with your stylus
* After about a second you will be prompted for confirmation. Press the Talk Button to confirm
----
oh I see, you found it.
the hard reset set your phone to the "original state" of the ROM (in that case right after you installed your NDB rom).
what do you mean there is no power?
Could it be your battery is empty and needs to re-charged?
There is no response on the phone now.
I suspect battery is empty but when I try to connect power cord no response also.
If you are sure your battery is not empty try to get into the bootloader mode:
depending on the type (G3 or G4) follow the instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613
especially step G3.2 or G4.2 respectively.

When I tried to connect to power while the phone is off it takes some seconds before response. Have try.
I have a G3 device (Vodafone VPA II Compact). But there is still no response.
I think it is power issue now. The bad thing is that I have only USB cable at home and the main power charger at work now.
Are there any way to charge with USB cable when phone is not open?
I would suggest following:
1. ensure your battery is full
2. do the hard-reset again - this may solve your problem already
3. if not, try to get into the bootloader mode (see the thread referred to above for instructions)
4. follow the instructions to re-load the ROM

I just tried ... while your phone is off the USB connection to the PC should provide you the current .. at my case the WIZARD starts to charge .. have a try.
----------------
the red LED light on the right above the display indicates the charging .. and turns green once it is fully charged, so in any case, you should see a light, although it takes 3-5 seconds after connecting to the USB.
Does it work?
I have tried and there is no light. As I remember before it was not possible if you are not connected via ActiveSync.
Anyway, I can try Monday at office.
Thanks for your help!!!
You're welcome. Good luck for Monday. Hope it will work out. Not much help yet from me but I will be around here.
This was driving me mad as well. I had to put it into bootloader mode (holding camera while resetting) and flash back to the Tmob 2.26 and then reflashing nbd.
The trick is to disable the HTC home plugin before you install any other apps. From what I understand its to do with some mysterious dlls.
I found this out on Friday and so far I haven't had any problems but I guess its still early days.
Good luck!
OK. It was a power issue and I could make a hard reset at office and it works again now.
I will try NBD 8.1 and see the difference.
Thanks for your help a lot!
good to hear it is working again!
I know this is a bit of an old phone now, but I'm hoping someone might be able to help...
When I switch the phone on, it gets to the Windows Mobile screen and then just hangs. After a few minutes, it turns itself off.
So far, I've tried the following;
1. Soft reset
2. Hard reset
3. Remove battery, put on charge (red light), replace battery (amber light), hard reset
4. Removed battery for 2 weeks
5. Praying
6. Swearing
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thx

Hi
You could try starting the device in bootloader in order to re-flash the ROM, or flash a new ROM. Methods for this are:
1) Press the soft reset hole button whilst holding camera button fully in.
2) Remove the battery, then re-insert it and switch the device on by pressing the power button but again ensuring the camera button is depressed fully.
3) Remove the battery and re-insert it. Don't switch the device on but plug it into a Windows PC using a USB cable whilst, you guessed it, depressing the camera button.
If you can get into bootloader (three coloured screen with some yellow writing) then you can probably reflash the device. It sounds like a software problem not a hardware problem but I could be wrong on that.
If you can't get the device into bootloader mode you have a problem that is more complicated to fix, about which I can't advice.
Best wishes

Hi,
Thanks for the reply....I couldn't get your method to bring up the bootloader to work, but tried pressing Power and OK while doing a soft reset.
This brought up a screen with 4 horizontal bars - red, green blue & white. Text at the top says;
HERM100 (text in white)
IPL-1.01
HERM100 (text in yellow)
SPL-1.04
In the white bar is the word 'Serial'
Does this sound right?
Then it just hangs on this screen - is there something else I am supposed press on the phone, or do I do something via my laptop with activesync etc?
Sorry for the additional questions, but I've never had to do this before.
Thanks
An update....
After noticing that 'No GSM' appears on the splash screen, I have now found this page which I think might answer my questions.
I'll have a go at this tonight

I'm not sure how many people, if any, have experience with this phone, but I'm taking a shot in the dark because I am completely out of options here. The phone is similar to the Cect M88, and the other Cect iPhone-clones available, although I'm not sure how similar the button layout is.
I installed PCM Keyboard last night, and all was working fine until this afternoon, when all of a sudden, my phone wouldn't wake up. I ended up having to pull the battery in order to get it to restart, but then it wouldn't boot past the Windows Mobile screen (the first one - didn't even make it to the second screen).
After several attempts to hard reset (top volume button + camera button + power button), I was able to get it reset, but even though active sync was running, folders weren't showing up properly on the phone itself. I did a soft reset, and folders then showed up, but this time active sync wouldn't load on the phone. Several more soft resets did nothing, but I kept trying, and finally... the phone froze up again to the point where it hung on the Windows Mobile screen again. Now, despite all attempts, I can't even get it to hard reset. When I push all buttons from an off state, the screen will turn blue (which seems to indicate some kind of resetting is going on since it normally goes straight to the WM screen) and then a few seconds later, the Windows Mobile screen will come up and hang. I've tried every combination of buttons possible, and I've tried hard resetting probably a good 20-30 times since this happened. I've removed the SIM card, removed the SD card... I've basically tried hard resetting seemingly every way possible, and yet it still will not reset and load up WM 6.0 pro like it should.
Any ideas on how I can get this thing to at least move past the WM screen? If I'm totally unable to hard reset, what would be the next best course of action? Since this is an off-brand phone with no support or any kind of warranty, are there repair places out there that can restore the OS? Is that something I can do myself? (Phone didn't come with any software or anything.) I'm at a loss here... I really don't want to end up with a $200 blue flashlight/paperweight. I know I took my chances when I bought it, but well... this stinks.
worked
hey man i know its old and hopefully you still have your phone.. ok what you need to do is let the phone die completely so you may have to keep the blue screen on and keep turning it on till your phone does this like you i have hard reseted serveral time to no avail but when the phone died i took out the battery plugged it in to the wall charger placed the battery in the phone let the red led light by the camera light up then i turned it on and before the screen could show the splash i did the hard reset phone is aye ok !! hope this helps man.. your post helped me..

Hey, all.
What does the internal reset button actually do? I was expecting it to reset to factory settings, but fortunately for me it didn't do this. I'm actually happy it didn't, as it means I didn't lose any of the customizations I had done or applications I had installed.
I just cracked open the case on my gTablet and pressed what I assumed to be the reset button, a tiny little white switch in the center of the unit. After pressing and holding it for about 3 seconds, the tablet immediately powered back on and returned to its previous state. Everything appears to be functioning perfectly normally and exactly as it was before.
What does the reset button actually do? Do I need to worry about battery meter not being accurate or any other weird side effects? I only mention that because the battery gauge is showing 100%, but the external red charge light is still on.
I'm not sure what prompted it, but earlier today, my gTablet went blank and wouldn't turn back on at all. My son had been playing Angry Birds for an hour or so and I had been using it heavily showing it off to my in-laws, so I thought perhaps the battery had simply gone dead. I had not plugged in the charger the night before, so it seemed to be a reasonable explanation.
I plugged the charger in and the external red light was visible, so I let it charge for a little while, then tried turning back on. I could press any number of different key combinations (power & vol+, power & vol-, holding button for long time followed by short press, etc.) but I got nothing but a black screen. There was no indication whatsoever that anything was happening.
I was assuming something had gone quite awry, but didn't panic. My wife was not quite so calm, but I reassured her that I would be able to find the answer on the XDA forums. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this great community, by the way!
First, I tried plugging in the USB cable to my Windows 7 laptop and heard the distinctive 'bing-bing,' notifying me that hardware was recognized, so I knew it wasn't dead. But, it didn't show up anywhere, so I checked the Device Manager. Interestingly, there was no yellow exclamation mark anywhere, as I expected from reading some other posts about NVFlash. I finally found it listed under the 'Disk Drives' section as: 'NVIDIA Tegra 2 USB Device.'
I remembered reading about people experiencing problems with the unit going into APX mode, but I also remembered reading about the internal reset button on the gTablet. So, I figured before I attempted to use NVFlash, I would try the reset button first. Fortunately, these devices were designed well and the case was very easy to pop off.
By the way, I was running the stock ROM, but with the TNT 3588 Enhancement Pack (Gapps with nVidia Drivers) provided by edirector. I had also installed the z4root application. I used the default ROM for the first day, but was comfortable with the idea of flashing othe ROMs, as I've done it with my HTC Aria phone. I flashed roebeet's TNT Lite 4.40 and used that for several days before going back to the factory ROM with the enhancement pack.
Thanks in advance,
Calvin
Well,
I've been reading these forums since last November and I don't know of anyone who
has really reported on "pushing" the reset button before!!!
Usually when people crack the case to push the reset button or unplug the battery
for 10-15 seconds it is a situation where they can't get the machine to start and
literally have nothing to loose.
Sounds to me (in terms of 30+ year of different computers) that you did a hardware
reset and boot. I assume something was locked up inside and the reset key released
it to restart.
Glad for you!!!

Hey everyone who reads this.
I'd like to start my topic with apologising if I post this in the wrong section.
So, I have a LG Spirit H440N LTE for about 3 years now, maybe a little less. I've always taken good care of it, both physically and in updates / security wise aswell.
My phone has been working flawlessly until the last 2 days. 2 days ago i was charging my phone, and when it vibrated (meaning its 100%) I pulled the cable off, and pressed the power button (power button locks - unlocks the screen) the screen didn't turn on. I was like "wow that's strange" but didn't care much, i just kept pressing the button every 5-6 seconds, nothing.
At that point I pulled the battery out, let it sit for a short time and then put it back, start the phone, I felt the vibration (meaning it's starting up) but no screen, so my first idea was that I need to get a new firmware and completely reinstall my phone, as it seems like it got bricked.. for no reason, by itself ? Strange thing but I accepted it and literally been googling for 9 hours now and I find more and more issues.
After I got LG FlashTool, drivers, and even 3 different firmwares, I wanted to start the phone in download mode to start upgrading, but even though I held down "volume up for 5 seconds and then put the usb cable in" nothing happened, no screen, my PC didn't recognise the phone either.
So I got a little bit mad and pulled the cable out from the phone, I wanted to remove the battery, but out of nowhere the phone suddenly started loading in, screen working completely fine, i could do whatever i want, so my first thing was to do a hard reset. After the hard reset I set up my usual stuff (important apps etc) and I locked the screen so my battery won't go down. Little did I know, I ****ed up again, because ever since that happened, I can't get my screen to work again. I tried everything I could but my PC still doesn't recognise the phone (even after a LOT of drivers being installed), charging the phone doesn't do anything. Regardless if I remove - put back the battery no screen, no screen in download - hard reset mode either, it's just completely black.
I'd like to have some sort of help, because I am just completely out of ideas, I really feel like a firmware change could fix the phone, but if the computer doesn't recognise it, I have no idea what to do.

You might be having hardware issues, such as a faulty power button. If you are the type of user that frequently presses the power button to lock/unlock the screen, this leads to excessive wear on the button components, this is why some users prefer to use the "tap to sleep" and "tap to wake" feature, to avoid wearing the power button out. On my LG, this feature is called "KnockOn", it's located in Accessibility settings.
