**MY PHONE IS NOW WORKING***
Hey guys,
I am going to start by saying that I have read almost every single sticky, thread, wiki and anything else I could get my grubby hands on to try and solve my problem; but I fear I may have missed something, or done it wrong.
Now to my problem. My friend who had the same phone as me did a HardSPL flash a long time ago and gave me some new ROM. It worked for awhile but wasn't great so we changed to a different ROM. After awhile I got sick of this one and all of its bugs so about 3 days ago we got some with windows 6.5; unfortunately something happened; causing it to be highly unstable, so we switched AGAIN.
Now to my problem. It will not boot. If I just let it boot without doing anything *or if I hit keys* it goes to an hTc TyTn2 screen with the R; G; and D displayed. I tried to flash it via Micro sd card but all I get is a white screen with blue "loading..." and nothing; it will sit there indefinitely. I have been following cmonex's instructions to a "T" and I am stuck. I attempted to do the USB route and the phone will display the tri-colors and say USB, but my computer *Vista* isn't seeing the phone. I tried different USB ports etc. and nothing. Please let me know what you guys think; anything would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend down-grading to xp. But if you can't try to explore the drive as a removable driver
Are you sure when you flashed it via MicroSD you had only one file named KAISIMG.nbh on the card?
This happened to me about a month ago, if it's still going to bootloader there is a good chance you can recover but the process is a bit intricate, especially to a newcomer like myself. I spent more time reading on how to fix this issue than I did on the entire process of flashing roms, mtty specifically. These are the threads I used to get running again, don't lose hope. I assure you the your answer is there.

I am sure. I even reformatted the sd card to a FAT32. It goes to a loading screen then freezes. I can also get it into the tri-color screen and have it say USB at the bottom, but when I try and flash it via USB; for some reason it starts at 0% and then crashes.
I am able to work with it in MTTY and I had to use a Task 8 command for anything to happen. I was told my friend already did a HARDSPL; is it possible that this was deleted/ corrupted?
Put your phone in bootloader mode what does it say?
Have you tried a Hard Reset yet?

hey everyone, My phone is temporarily working at this point!!!
My new question is, how do I know if my friend really put a HardSPL on my cell the first time. I know that one way to tell was through MTTY and boot command, but my cell didn't respond to that. My friend said he put a HardSPL on; would doing it again hurt anything?

Put your phone in bootloader mode and if it says "hard" next to "SPL:" it's got a hrd SPL version.

I am trying to flash a HardSPL to my phone; the computer see's the device but will not allow me to copy any files to it. When I go though the sync center, it begins to connect then says error. What should I do?

Try copying them via the SD card using a card reader if you have one.
Ta
Dave
tryd that, all it does is say loading and pretty much stays there indefinately.
Right, lets take a step back...
You don't have Hard SPL at the moment?
If not, the best guide for flashing Hard SPL is here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835
Follow through what mskip advises and let me know if you get stuck and at what point.

I get stuck at the very first step were you are supposed to copy the 3 different JumpSPL files. I even tried copying a word document and it said "the file Reference could not be copied. It may not exist or cannot be transferred."
My computer can access the phone, but I cannot transfer anything to its memory. I also tryed copying it to the sd card while it is in the phone and it gives me the same error. Active sync whont work either, just keeps saying error.

Try deleting and re-creating the partnership... Do you have Office installed, this might stop if working.
Do you have a Card Reader, put the card in there and put the files on the card that way.
Failing that MyMoblier let's you copy files, I think it works differently to AS.
Dave
i have deleted the partnership and created a new one, and it doesnt work. As for mymobiler; the website will not load for me on either my desktop or laptop.
one thing i just tryed which was interesting was to load the 3 JumpSPL files onto the sdCard and then copy them to the phone's main memory. It wouldnt allow me to do this. How do I remove the read/write protection on the phone?

did you ask this question in those threads? i just searched all your posts and im not seeing where you asked in those threads before you started a new thread.
didn't see where you tried to flash stock rom either, i recommend trying to flash it, and flash stock before you flash any cooked roms.
i never said I did any of the flashing. my friend did it all, and he claims to have done the hardspl. he then loaded new ROM onto the phone. Since he is no longer around, and everything has gone hay-wire, I am trying to fix it.
Here is my new situation; I can get the phone to fully load into the rom, but it does not have the HardSPL installed. The computer will recognize that the phone is plugged in, but active sync will not connect; just says error. If i go through "my computer" and try and copy files that way it says: "the file Reference could not be copied. It may not exist or cannot be transferred." I have tried to just re-flash it *because i really need it up and running* and the programs just say they cannot. I even used CID unlocker and it says it failed. I just don't know where to go from here.
Try doing a Hard Reset and see if your symptoms change. NOTE: Remove the SD Card.
Yesterday my phone's battery died from not charging it and I didn't think too much of it. I plugged it back in to charge however and it automatically booted up...into the boot loader with a message saying "No Image File!" (figured out this was because its checking the microsd card for a rom - I usually flash over usb). Tried to flash another ROM and it appeared to be working but after the reboot (before you get to the stylus configuration screen) just went back to the bootloader and gave the same message.
So, has anyone encountered this before? Looks like the ROM isn't storing anything (and my phone is essentially dead) but perhaps I need to do something simple to fix it.
Thanks in advance!
It's been posted a few times, but it's rare. Try flashing a stock rom over usb.
Hey, appreciate the help!
Tried it and no dice however. Looks like the message I was recieving (No Imaging File!) was from it looking for an Image off the SD card (I always flash off of USB so I had never seen this). Tried to initiate a hard reset from the boot loader as well but it just gets stuck on the "This operation will delete all your..." screen and pressing Volume Up does nothing.
So I tried to flash the ROM found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=429843 and am still stuck where it reboots back to the boot loader after the flash.
Maybe try flashing with the sd card removed; you could also try task 29. Sorry, I have no other ideas.
Edit: And I know I've posted this in similar threads (lol), but maybe your vol down button is stuck. If that's the case, any time you reset the device, it will go into bootloader. I can't think of any other reasons you phone isn't booting up properly (other than, like, the phone is toast).
Hey, yea last night attempted to flash without it in as well as from the SD card. Neither worked.
So I kept searching and was reading all about mtty (and task 29) and that looks like the way to go. Couldn't get things to work properly on my Windows Server 2008 R2 box so I'm going to try it from an XP box here in a bit and can hopefully get everything connected.
If anyone is curious, I found this thread describing the use of mtty: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540290
Well, took it to work where I have an XP machine and plugged it into the USB port. It didn't turn on automatically (which it has been when supplied with power) which was kind of weird. So I hit power and voila, it loads the ATT ROM I flashed last night.
Not sure what fixed it (I don't think it was a stuck key, but who knows) but its working now. Thanks for your help Ted.
I have been following similar threads, but there seems to be just enough that is different with my Gtab I thought I would try a new one in my last ditch effort.
I have most been runnung Tnt lite and everything worked fine. Then curisoity got to me and I installed the Cyrogen 7. I was having issues with gapps and followed instructions until it wouldn't boot past the BitTrix presents....
I was able to get into CM but after all the formarts and such from the intructions on gapps I no longer had any backs or recovery files.
Then I tried the NVflash. First problem is that I could never confirm I was in APX mode. My Linux CentOS machine could see the gtab but the NVFlash would not run. So a pal of mine who is really good with Linux grabbed tnt lite and was able to directly transfer it to the SD card.
Everything looked hopefull until just before the home screen should appear it powers down. then I when into CM and re-installed tnt. Same problem so I go back to CM and try to mount data. I get an error that it doesn't exisit. then it powers down in CM. Each time I go into CM it shuts down sooner and sooner.
I opend the device up and completed a manual reset to no sucess. I hear people say its really heard to brick these things. PLEASE someone help show me that I am not that talented!
no help?

Hi
OK, i am no expert here but have you tried just putting a new ROM zip file onto your SD card and rebooting into recovery mode Power & Volume + and choosing the zip file you just copied over?
Works for me everytime but then mine has never died.

My main issue now is that the power wont even stay on long enough to get to that point.

These are the instructions I followed when I opened it up. This did not work for me. You can see I posted in that thread as well.
Through all the message boards I read, not one single person including myself thought of the most basic answer.......The battery was dead
I work on computers for a living and this is yet just another example of starting with the basics, no matter what you think your skill level is.
Once charged, I was able to read the zip off of the card. Flashed and everything was great. Until I dropped it, literally minutes afte I got it working.
I am starting to think I wasn't meant to use this tablet.
I guess we all ASSUMED that you had charged it, or at least were trying w the adaper plugged in... I know that was what I assumed ...

Hello guys,
Long time reader, first time poster over here.
I'm having a serious problem and wouldn't bother you with it, but i've scrolled through hundreds of forumposts, tried serveral things but haven't find the solution yet. (because the problems in those posts are only a part of my problem :s)
So I hope, by posting and explaining it myself, you guys can help me fixing my HTC One S (wouldn't want to lose it this way -.- )
Here it goes: my phone has been rooted for more than a year now, i've used several ROMs, been through some problems but no big deal and was able to solve them myself).
A couple of months ago, I decided to try the newest Cyanogen (11) mod based on Android 4.4, needed a new recovery but got it installed and working fine.
After a while I installed a Nightly update, and after that the trouble started and went from bad to worse to nearly death
first of all the phone kept rebooting at total random moments, enormously frustrating!
so I decided to do another update, after this update, I wasn't able to turn my Wi-Fi on
No big deal i thought, but after a while it began to annoy me, so another Nightly update was incoming
After this update **** really got messy, the message "com.android.systemui has stopped" kept popping up and the only thing I could do was click OK, then it popped back up -> OK -> and so on and so on
so my phone was as good as useless at this point
At this point I've had it with this ROM, so I put another one on my internal SD card (via coupling with my PC): Beanstalk 4.4 STABLE
This new ROM actually was installed as an update of the previous one, so the damned message "com.android.systemui has stopped" was still popping up constantly.
At that point I totally had it with 4.4 and decided to put an older ROM on it with which i've had had a good experience.
And that's where **** got fcked up:
When I go into recovery (CMW 6.0.4.5) and want to access my internal storage, it says "E: can't mount /storage/sdcard0"
So I wanted to connect to my pc to flash a new ROM to my device using Fastboot, but my pc isn't recognizing my phone and neither is Fastboot.
In fastboot, when I try "fastboot device" it keeps searching and doesn't find my device.
My PC however sees my phone, cause I hear the usbconnection sound when they're coupled, but it isn't showing up as a Removable Storage Device.
So to summarize:
once my phone is booted, i can't do anything apart from clicking OK on the "com.android.systemui has stopped" alert
in recovery, i can't mount my internal storage
when 'connected' to the PC, the PC and fastboot can't detect the device.
Other info:
i've tried it on a pc running W7 and W8
phone is HTC One S S4
I hope you guys can help me out here!

I've had success getting a connection to Windows just be using a different USB port, the ones at the back are best. Then at least you get fastboot access...But I also still have the problem with the sdcard, still working on that, trying to figure out a way to fix it from fastboot...
any progress yet rosanna? I was also able to make the connection with my pc, by using the usb ports on the back (thanks for that!). But I haven't been able to mount my sd card yet. I tried with another recovery but that didn't do the trick.
I got into the UI of my current ROM, and then my pc said I needed to format the SD before I could use it.
But I wasn't sure this is a good idea to do in windows.
Anyone know if it is save to format your internal sd card when prompted to do so in windows?

Try using a Linux live cd (try Ubuntu). You'll need a blank DVD to burn the iso to. Reboot your computer and see if it recognizes your device (no drivers needed). If it does try a more stable build this time.

I did read through that thread and tried it.
But i'm not quite sure everything went as plannend.
I even think it went wrong on the first step, flashing back to the stock recovery. This one isn't included in the all in one toolkit right?
So I started searching for one myself (I have an S4 VLE version of the phone) but I haven't downloaded one yet, although I've seen links that bring me to new links and so on and so on, I wasn't quite sure which link to trust.
If you could help me further I would really appreciate it

1 minute - downloadlink is on the way
Here you are: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2622663&d=1394422408
You can flash it with the toolkit selecting "Custom recovery".
When you're Storage is back alive and kickin' you can flash a custom revovery again.
My favourites are
TWRP 2.7.0.0 - http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/ville/openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.0-ville.img
and
PhilZ advanced CWM - http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/ville
In my opinion TWRP is easiest to handle and PhilZ has some more features.

Another direct link here, I personally flashed it manually trough fastboot, for me the easiest and fastest way to do it. Then proceed to the clear storage and flash your custom recovery (like @LS.xD I recommend TWRP but this is your choice )

I feared for a while for my phone, but on the other hand I knew the xda community would help me fix it!

This post doesn't seem to match others asked before.
I had a perfectly working rooted/rom'd HTC One (M8). Unfortunately, screen cracked so I sent it off to the insurer to sort. It came back looking great. However, I was now unable to access any of the internal storage. Everytime I tried to download a photo, voice clip or Mod Edit: removed mention of warez it would say 'unable to download', 'cannot save' or something along those lines.
I checked to see the device was still rooted. It was. Nevertheless, I perhaps in ignorance, ran through all the steps over again and spent 3.5 hrs doing so! I now have a wonderful adb file on my desktop and I was fiddling around doing fast reboots etc and trying to flash a customrom in the hope that this would fix the storage invisibility/lack of permissions. I tried fixing with busybox etc but I couldn't even install busybox as it didn't recognise that there was any internal storage whatsoever! I also could not load onto my storage (for the same reason!) the latest SuperSU zip to flash as a rom.
In the end, through fiddling about, I was able to find my old storage pack. It was all there and I located an old SuperSU from when I had previously rooted about 6 months ago (an old version now I assume). Flashed this and rebooted. I was still adb connected so ran a fastboot and chose to run the TeamWin Recovery Wipe (standard setting, not advanced).
When wiped, I tried to get my phone to turn back on thinking it would be factory reset and I could start again but now I literally cannot get my phone on!! It is plugged into the computer via USB (i've tried disconnecting it too) and no matter what I try I cannot get this phone to do anything now - it's just a black screen that doesn't look completely off if I look closely it looks like it is on somehow....? Tried holding down vol down and power - nothing. It has flatlined!
Any help PLEASE!!!!! ?????
