Was browsing Appbrain today and saw an app called Scannet. Can't post a link so just search for it on Appbrain if you want.
I really like the idea of this app - but before I buy it I wanted to ask here if there are any similar apps? If so, are they any good?
Thanks
Why not try the free version test?
True - but I was hoping to try out more than one app for this function. I'll certainly try the free version

It looks like a great free alternative to remote security apps like WaveSecure, but I don't want to be the first one to try it. Is there a way to check whether an app like this is doing shady things with my data?

App was being unpublished on d market for few days. Its available again though. Excellent app if you ask me.
Could have earned a few dollars if it was paid.
I contacted the developer. He's onto it's Pro version which will be a paid one with server support. Just grab this one in case they remove it again.
Cheers 2 d developer.
Anyone else?
Ok... I'm d developer of this app...
The app is quite trustworthy... more than 2000 hits till now...
I guess that much is enough to try it...
Its not in beta anymore bdw...

Please rate us on Android Market if you like the app.
I posted this in the Galaxy S2 forums but unfortunately not many replied, im hoping someone here can be of assistance.
Some apps i have on my phone i haven't got via the Android Market, lots ive got have been apk's ive got on XDA,etc, etc, what im wondering is, seen as i didn't get these apps from the market if i linked the selected apps to the market through the market doctor what is that supposed to do?
I have the Paddy Power app and Betfair app which were were initially on the Android market but for some bizzare reason Android market decided no betting apps were to be allowed to took them off the market so i went elsewhere and downloaded them and installed via root explorer, there are a couple of paid apps i also downloaded for free not something i usually do but whoever created these apps was taking the p*ss with the price they were charging so i refuse to pay over the odds for an app, taking all this into consideration what (if any) advantage would i have by linking these to the market and more's to the point considering i didn't get any of these particular apps from the market would the apps in question still link to the market?

anyone.......??
For apps already removed from the market there's no use forcing a link.
For paid apps if it's not good enough to match its price to you,you still want to use it and want easy updates? :O probably why your question is unanswered..

What about apps though that ive got on XDA and apps like Paddy Power and Betfair which were taken out of the market, can these not be linked to the market?
You cannot link it to market because it does not exist in the market server anymore, it's that simple.

Market doctor is used when apps you did get in the market don't show up. Nothing more. Link to market is really only useful is you manually unlinked an app.
can i backup all my messages with titanium backup and restore them on another ROM?
Hey Guys,
Couldn't found this posted around the TF forum. I've found an interesting and usefull ap out there on the Market. It's called Tablet Market and it collects all the apps available for tablets and links them to the Andoroid Market for installing.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.andromo.dev86.app119
The app doesn't seem to have alot of tablet apps though. Unless I am doing something wrong or the app has never been updated there seems to only be 100 apps on it. No categories to help search is also a drawback.
I will continue to use www.tablified.com
Although the website does have some server issues I just added tablified.com as a newsfeed to Pulse (RSS app) and everyday when I go to check my news on pulse I get the newly added apps in one of my feeds.

I was having some issues moving from a virtual server to a dedicated server thats the reason the site was having problems. hopefully thats been address and it should be smooth sailing for now
Uhm. You do kow that Android Market will hide all incompatible apps by default?

There's a difference between compatible apps and tablified (tablet specific) apps. Most people want the latter.

I am one who prefers the latter. I hate it when I have my dock connected and I get an app that is only in profile, or one that has to start in profile.
+1 for Tablified. Anxious to see how big this could potentially get.

Ayman you should make a tablified app. Your website is great and it only makes sense to have a complimentary app on the market.

Just buy the app, if you can afford to pay your monthly phone bill then I'm sure that you can drop a few dollars for the apps you want.
other?
So while we are on this subject, how are not allowed to post cracked apps? While I am against it the reasoning doesn't work. We will take the skype app, which is licensed, modify it and place it on xda. That is no different than taking someone else's app and making it suit our needs without permission.

That's a good point. Although there was a crackdown on those modded Dropbox apks...

I don't see a request for an alternative site as a request for hacked/stolen etc apps..
Unlocking features omitted for marketing purposes that are free elsewhere on the same app is a little bit of a grey area
Also the need for a major alternative freeware shareware app site is definite..

I'm also looking for a LEGIT alternative to the Google Play Store because I sometimes have DPI issues with the market and it gives compatibility errors. I want to clarify this, I just want another place to download .apks that are free on the market that isn't a shady DDL I found on google.
Guys, don't judge, it's possible the OP lives elsewhere where the entire play store is not available and he wants an app. That is a perfectly fine reason for piracy in my book.

There is nothing wrong with requesting free apps apk files, (though I highly recommend doing it in there Q&A section, not android apps & games) just look at this here. On there other hand, paid app apks, cracks to free apps to make then act like paid apps, or cracking apps to defrauded a company (i.e. The dropbox hack) all are considered Warez.
Also, app markets that do not link to Google Play (i.e. App Brainz links to Google play for downloads) are considered Warez markets & won't be tolerated.

Also: For anybody having DPI issues, have you tried this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wxLDEsImNvbS5iaXJkYXBpLmFuZHJvaWQuZHBpcHJvIl0. (To install it set dpi to normal for your device, delete market data/cache, reboot into recovery, wipe cache/dalvik cache & then download from market, it'll let you change dpi without issues (so it says, I haven't tested it))
There's a new dropbox hack out there for 50gb for two years using sgs3 files. But I understand what you all are saying
Thanks for the info

I have been working on this app for a long time. I think it is finally at a stage where I can say it is stable and ready for the masses to take hold. It has been listed on google play now for over a year as a paid and free app.
When I worked on ROM's it was tedious updating so many threads after completing a new update. So I developed Android MOD Market
Android MOD Market is an app that scavenges through CyonaogenMOD, MIUI-US and XDA searching for APPs, MODS and ROMS; reads the posts, picks out information and makes it available in an easily searchable and categorized app.
I guess you could call it a ROM, MOD and APP search engine with some added features. You can set presets for your favorite listings and have it notify you when the listing is updated.
Unlike ROM Manger, GOO-IM or many other popular apps and update notifiers, AMM does not require the developer to do anything additional but post it to a forum thread. New listings are usually picked up by AMM with in a few hours and any update is available immediately to a user.
You can view the AMM website (in my sig) and view the listings there, get the free app from Google Play (ad supported) or if ads aren't your thing feel free to purchase an ad free version also Available on Google Play.
Check it out here...
Website = www.androidmodmarket.com
Free Ad Supported Version = https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thunderstick.androidmodmarketfree
Paid Ad Free Version = https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thunderstick.androidmodmarketpro

That's strange, not sure why your device is not compatible. Let me check the listing. APK attached to OP...
Resuscitating this thread...
APP has made some major milestones lately. IF you tried it in the past and disregarded it, feel free to give it another try. It is definitely much different now.
APK in OP updated to reflect the latest free version available from the playstore.
